Hello! Thanks a lot for this useful video. By the way, I hear a lot of people keep on talking about Kinovelax Diet Plan (just google it), but I'm not sure if it's good. Have you thought about Kinovelax Diet Plan? I've heard many unbelivable things about it and my mate lost a lot of weight with it, but she refuses to tell me :(

What's healthy for one person isn't for another as in "one's man's meat is another man's poison". I couldn't eat cheese or chocolate at one time because it would lead to a migraine and still now have to only eat in moderation because of the high calorific value. Somebody else couldn't eat salt because of hypertension and tried to stop me putting it on my food. As long as it's multi mineral salt what's the problem and you drink lots of pure water what's the problem?
Glad to see that Jimmy uncovered one of my favorite bits from a great film. But sad to see that many doctors are still mired in the conventional wisdom of low-fat (but high omega-6) and high-grain diets that have left obesity, diabetes, and heart disease in their wake. (I'm still looking for that healthy hot fudge, however!)
I lost 30% OF MY BODY FAT BY EATING HIGH PROTEIN, HIGH SATURATED FAT FOODS AND NO CARBS. My cholesterol levels dropped by 25% and my HDL increased by 12%. It was easy when you can eat as much bacon, burgers, steaks etc etc as you would like.
The egg industry works on convincing us that eggs are healthy. The dairy industry ---- the same for dairy. The chocolate indsutry - same for chocolate. The wine industry -same for wine. Money is spent for junk research "proving" these things. I wonder if Woody Allen realized this when he used this satire of predict what was going to be considered sastire.
BTW, honey and Tiger's milk really isn't considered "healthy", either now or hopefully in the future.
@rcbaker200 Don't forget the biggest sham of them all......The Drug industry. Overwhelming evidence that the FDA and Big Pharma are in bed together. Not to mention all the "drug studies" that are paid for by the companies that are producing them.....conflict of interest anyone???
I also love the scene where the doctor tells him to light up a cigarette and breath it deep into his lungs! They just reported that long-term smokers are 73% less likely to get Parkinson's Disease. WTH?
This simply proves that not only are people on fad diets like Atkins gullible unfortunates with no background in basic human biology and nutritional sciences, but that they also don't understand satire. An inability to grasp satire is a classic sign of shallowness of thought and general ignorance.
This joke of course was meant to make the doctors look like fools, and it did in fact accurately predict the increased prevalence and populairty of the self imposed stupidity we now see so much of.
THANKS for your comments, VariedInterest. But I'm curious what it is about Atkins low-carb nutrition that makes you describe it as a "fad diet." Yes, I realize the satire that Woody Allen was sharing in his film...but it's indeed interesting to see the last laugh of this ironic bit of humor is that it turns out to be true. The only "fools" left are the ones who still think fat and meat consumption is harmful.
It did turn out to be true, as to the degree of patent nonsense people would eventually be confused enough to accept as science. The joke of course is that people might some day be so ridiculously uneducated and bewildered that they would labour under such obvious falsehoods. That is why in the scene they are actually trained academic experts, in a premise similar to the recent film Idiocracy, it is meant to be an imbecile dystopian world. You're right, he was quite prescient here.
You could, I dunno, download the FLV clip from YouTube and cut it shorter? There are even web-based tools to do that these days. Or just pirate the movie, extract that scene, and delete the rest. Plenty of higher-quality alternatives!

Another of Allen's lines I like is from Annie Hall:
"Everything our parents said is good for us is bad: Sunshine... red meat... college."

Really? I'm SURE this is absolutely true! Tobacco must be good for us!
It only makes sense then that all of us should smoke, as much as possible.

The "truth" is that food is energy and the body survives off of energy that is introduced into it. The body will store excess energy.
