People that dislike this movie doesn't necessarily mean they're racist. You're looking at them in 1 dimension much like the dialogue and acting was in the movie. It's a good movie in that it puts the name of the Tuskeegee Airmen into the spotlight so those interested can actually read about their contributions to the war effort, but the movie itself I believe is a disservice to the real Tuskeegee Airmen. They took a "touchy" subject and slapped on a corny made for TV movie script in it. Bad.

@Trance681 How do you measure "best"? If you mean by victories, that's only because the Luftwaffe didn't rotate its fighter pilots from front line duty as often as the allies. So experienced pilots had more opportunities to add to their tally. If you meant by skill, no Luftwaffe pilot outclassed the mosquito crews who could post bombs through Gestapo front doors. Or the low level skill in a heavy bomber, like the Dambusters. Both sides had some great pilots.

About a couple of years ago I interviewed a b24 bomber crewman that told me that the tuskegee airmen were feared by the germans. They had much respect for these guys, there's always a minority that are racist but I don't believe all people looked upon them in disdain.

What a disgrace to the true Tuskegee Airmen and the more historically accurate depiction that was already made by HBO with "The Tuskegee Airmen." The real pilots of the 99th and 332nd did not act like ghetto hoods.

I completely agree. The 1994 HBO film was absolutely fantastic. This one looks like a remix of that film. Cornier animations are about the only difference. I never heard ANY stories of the Tuskeegees chanting as if they were in a football huddle.

READ B4 commentin: Tuskegee airmen..its focused on them, based on history. They were a band of pilots who served in the US. airforce at a time when racial discrimination was rife in the forces. I believe the ones portrayed here are from the 332nd Fighter group. They saw action in Europe as bomber escorts in they were "particularlY" successful in their missions. The reason it is called RED TAILS is that they painted the tails of their P-47 FIGHTERS RED. Theres quite abit of info on Wikipedia.
