  • can i use this 2 connect 2 xbox console's ? and do they have to be in the same room to get the best use out of it ?

  • can u play ps3 on this device or any gaming console...?

  • So just 2 b sure this connects to iPod touchs right

  • @rudy93215

    yep

  • Just got a MiFi for free today at VZW - very informative video

  • can u use it for xbox elite?

  • I wish the Virgin MiFI activation was this easy! :(

  • How do you check how much usage you have left?

  • so can I can use my ps3 in the car and play online

  • Yes if you can get the ps3 to connect to the device. I use it to watch movies in the car from netflix using a roku box

  • @samuelu21352135 That is so badass!

  • aramistech, Not just another video, this one stands out.

  • Thank you, I appreciate that comment. I try my best to make a cool video while sharing information. Thanks.

  • why do you use WEP if you could choose WPA2?

is you windows machine too old for it?

  • No is not too old. By default the router has wep configured. I used wep sometimes, it's just an old habit.

  • but it's very insecure and after some research probably every little nerd can hack it. and if there is no further work to do if you choose WPA2, why not?

  • How fast is it?

  • ok thanks

  • hey ummm when you play on the xbox such as call of duty did the download mb go up quickly or did it take time to accumulate 3GB on the device? im thinking of playing games on this because wew dont get Dsl. plz reply :)

  • the mifi has a bandwidth usage limit n they charge per meg over so i would not recommend use with xbox 360 unless you have money falling out ur ass n the speed isnt all too fast

  • I agree this is not good for gaming all the time, but for casual gaming it works just fine. I watch movies in the car all the time using a Roku box. I use it all the time and I do not go over 2gigs. It has a 5gigabyte limit per month.

  • to do all the configuration do you have to have a laptop or can you have a regular computer?

  • @guitarmagic95 u can have either as long as it has Windows or Mac OS, dunno bout Linux

  • cool thanks!

  • Hi if you get an unlocked one on ebay you have no data plan, is this right? nice video

  • dude dont worry i play all the time and it wont go over

  • Well playing with this router will quickly add to the 5GB cap, if you use this to play and also to surf the web, download files and view videos then you will probably see a bigger bill monthly.

  • FOR ALL OF YOU OUT THERE YOU CAN PURCHASE THE MIFI NOW FOR ABOUT $400 WITHOUT A PLAN!! SOUNDS LIKE ALOT HUH? I PAY $43 PER MONTH JUST FOR THE INTERNET VIA CABLE SO....($43x12mths = $516) per yr x unltd. GUESS WHAT I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS!!!

  • Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

  • cool. I need one. what signal speed do you get and at what price ??

  • I got the mifi 2 days ago, and I have to say it's nice. Signal strenth is great. I got 5 bars in the mountain. Check my channel for the unboxing of my mifi. Enjoy.

  • I'm getting the mifi this weekend. Hopefully verizon store has the car charger for it. Thanks for that tip you provided long ago.

  • Thanks for the video - most helpful in getting me setup, especially on the router config and I was finally able to use my iPhone on Verizon using Skype - hehe. Oh, here's a tip on that. When you make a call on Skype, it only checks for WiFi when you initiate the call. During the call, you can turn the MiFi off and instead of disconnecting, the call will instantly be re-routed on AT&T 3G assuming you have coverage O.o

  • You're welcome, I'm glad the video helped you out. I really appreciate you sharing the skype tip, I'm sure it will be very helpful to others. Thanks again.

  • Great advice, I think it is expensive, even if you buy it on Ebay, I suggest buying a range adapter for free internet up to 2 miles, you can use a small mini adapter device and you can log searching free logins with or without passwords.

  • Just ordered. Cost me $.01 from amazon for either the sprint version or the verizon version. I believe only new customers and 2 year cocntract

  • Awesome price. You will love this device because you will always have internet where ever you are. Verizon is the fastest of all of them and they have the best service.

  • If Novatel makes this 10 hours of talk time or whateva it's called and brings it to Telstras 21MB/s 850MHz Next G Netwrok here in Australia I would buy one =). But are plans are costly for Unlimited Speed (Limited to have much is available from Cell Tower) and 10GB of Data and once the qouta is reached it switches to Dail-Up but yer it's AUD$130/month

  • You know, here is the US we complain about the price per month on the service, but then I see how expensive it is in other countries and I see then it is not that bad here.

Don't get me wrong that service should cost in my opinion a flat $40 everywhere.

  • You obviously do not have one, I use it for everything I do on the road and even watch netflix in the car. It goes great with my netbook. I say try it for 2 weeks and then put a new post.

  • the plan 59.99/mnth for 5GB allowance you fill that up pretty quickly right?

  • Actually I do not since I do not use it for my house internet access. I use it on the go and in the car to watch netflix and surf the web. I have never gone over. The most I have used is 3GB and that was because I was playing call of duty.

  • wow i'm surprized netflix doesn't consume alot of the allowance, but either way. i'll defineately be getting one!

  • It does not because keep in mind that netflix adjust the play quality to the speed of your internet access. i use a roku box with the 7" screen in the car. It looks great on that screen. Best of luck.

  • The MiFi isn't all that bad, but it is slow. I've had faster connections on weaker signals before. And wtf? I never got a travel bag when I got it! D:< Oh well. I'm too lazy to buy one anyway. XD

  • I don't know why you found it slow, I actually watch netflix movies in the car. Do you have verizon for your card, if not it might explain the travel bag missing.

  • Yeah, its Verizon. I don't understand why it'd be so slow either. But then again, the mid-west is a problematic area for it, so that may enplane everything. It also likes to stall on me from time to time so some videos won't even attempt to load. I had to call tech support the first day I had it cause it wouldn't even connect. Hopefully mines just defective and all others aren't like mine lol.

  • Thanks for your input. I'm in Miami, FL and in most parts it works great.

  • Thanks.

  • Cool device and video. I am Gona get this device very soon. Have any tips, or anything you need to telll me?

  • Thank you. Yes it is a really nice device, one tip I can tell you is to get a 12v adapter for the card so you can charge it in the car if you need. The adpter will go for about $20. Best of luck.

  • do you only need to configure it if you use it as a modem?

  • You have to install the software on your computer and when you do, the software will activate the device. Then you don't need it from that point on. I show you in the video how to do it.

  • could a desktop computer that uses a USB connect adapter to connect to a wireless connection to the internet, could this desktop then be connected to the mifi router ultimately leading to an internet connection?

  • Yes of course if your computer has a wireless card on it you can connect to this since the MiFi device is esentially a router just very small and mobile.

  • I hope you can answer this. BTW NICE vid and VERY informitive.

I have a pcmcia card now and use a top global router.

IF this doesnt pick up broadband does it still connect to national at a slower speed like the Verizon cards do?

    Also, how is the range?

Thanks again for the great video.

  • Sorry for not answering this, I missed this comment. First thank you for your comment. Regarding your question, this will behave similar to the verizon cards. It is from verizon and the range is between 40 to 50 feet around the device. I love it, I finally can connect all the devices I carry with me without a big router and completely mobile. Hope this answered your question.

  • First rating:)

  • Thank you!!!. 5 Stars, very nice. Best of luck.

  • Nice! Video

I'm gonna look in to it

  • Thank you. This little router is awesome. Having the internet in my pocket is great.

  • Thank you, I appreciate it. Glad you liked the video.

  • cool.. nice video dude keep it up
