Andromeda and Earth: Final Conflict were both genius; it pained me to see them degenerate over their respective runs as producers tried to make them more episodic and accessible to a popular audience. It's always unfortunate when something that starts out so good ends up so awful.
Jeez, the 2 things i remember about this show were the episode where he got the alien shooter thing on his arm and how it hurt and the metallic butterflies that were killing people. Good show :p

After the first couple of episodes the special effects got better and then later went downhill again. Despite a low budget it was pretty good. Season 1 was excellent. Season 2 was good. Season 3 was okayish, Season 4 was watchable but the feeling was it was going downhill. Season 5 was unwatchable.
Damn...finally...I found it...I'd been looking for this series for a very long time (8 years to be exact) When I first watch it....I didnt know English....the whole half serie is translated to my first language.
Similarities between this series and V,both series,and Alien Nation,make for some interesting discussion. EFC like V ,had that hidden agenda plot line,Alien Nation,was more like refugees from another galaxy type of thing.

This is a crisp recording for audio. It brought back a lot of memories. I used to stay up on Sunday nights at 11:00 on the NBC station to catch this show. My favorite characters were Da'an and Sandavol. Liam was pretty good too and well as Joshua Doors. I looked up on the internet about DVDs last night and I see Universal released the first season last year in May. I am going to place an order probably this weekend coming up. Thanks for the upload of this show intro. Really a good show.
The best Sci-Fi series on TV that Gene Roddenberry ever had a hand in creating! Serious, adult acting, great special effects, superb music that reflected the alien characterizations beautifully. Too bad Lisa Howard didn't last longer, along with the original storyline.

I know what you feel! I do believe that the Horns introducing the music represent the Human aspect of the story and the tabla+Asian string instrument that kicks afterwards represent the mysticism coming form the Taelons' side. Hearing both coming together so perfectly reflects the story, Mystic alien coming in contact with humans.

The death of william boone should tell you something.isn't odd that such a well developed character could dissapear just like that.How do you just replace Aragorn from lotr or Rand al'Thor from the weel of time.I originaly smelled jealousy .Somebody thought themselves superior to gene's original recomendations on future episodes and brought in their own ideas on what they thought was best for the series.Must have been a real eye opener for certain people close to the issue.

I liked the first three seasons, but after that it got all very much separated from the original thing. I still have to see the last season, but after watching soms episodes i got bored. I don't like those new aliens, i find it over the top, and I don't like the fact that almost every character disappears sooner or later. I miss Da'an especially, and when the Taelons are gone in the last season it just feels like another tvshow....

The episodes are in english so don't worry, but there are some with dualaudio(very annoying!). You can also find some episodes in youku(dot)com and 56(dot)com.
I started to watch this show near the end of season 2 so I never got a chance to know the Boone character Liam was always the main Guy in all the episodes (except for season 5) I saw. all the comments I see about how great the first season and Boone were, really make me want to see the first season even more, But Liam was a great lead and season 3-4 were great always had you guessing but season 5 was garbage should have ended at 4.
No one who saw only the last episodes would believe it, but the first season was one of the best sci-fi dramas period. Great stories, characters, conflict, mystique- everything you hope for. Then somebody got their panties in a wad about Kevin Kilner, so they killed off Boone, radically revamped the show, and the rest of the series started off mediocre and from there only got worse. The mismanagement of EFC should studied in classrooms as a test case in how to ruin a great show.
They really fucked themselves in season 2 didn't they? Another storyline they poorly mis-handled was the one with Isabel. After her and Lily realized they were sisters, she was pretty much all forgotten about, save for a few scenes in Auger's bar.
It's also a type of music. It's also a type of anything else, at all, that exists in both the oriental (eastern and mid-eastern) regions and other parts of the world, eg. oriental weaponry, oriental people, oriental rugs.

The first season was good, and the show was pretty good through the next two seasons. Season 4, the show was starting to reek (How did the Companions not know Kincaid was working with resistance?), and season 5 (except for the episode with Margot Kidder as a female Dr. Lechter) was virtually unwatchable for me.
If only the show producers retained the quality of the classic first season without radically (and clumsily) changing both the main plot, setting and characters (wiping out William Boone without some of his issues resolved is one major mistake), EFC could have been one of the best sci-fi shows since Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek series as well as Babylon 5.

@xtruma According to the ending credits the Opening theme is Preformed and composed by Micky Erbe & Maribeth Soloman..this show rocks..i just bought the first season on Dvd and got my dad hooked.

@xtruma I did a search for the music and it is composed by Micky Erbe & Maribeth Solomon, a husband wife duo from Canada. From what I can find, i believe they released the music for this show as it's own album.

and wow god i loved this show, but they did stuff around with the script a fair bit and i was so cut when boone was cut and then reintroduced, and it frustrated me that i could never get a hold of season 4 >_<

I know what you feel! I do believe that the Horns introducing the music represent the Human aspect of the story and the tabla+Asian string instrument that kicks afterwards represent the mysticism coming form the Taelons' side. Hearing both coming together so perfectly reflects the story, Mystic alien coming in contact with humans.

pretty imaginative ur Utube pseudo, like that...science, magic and soul... all that im interested in in life...the biggest questions of modern life as we know it...anyways, this soundtrack is the msot beautiful one ive ever heard, and the movie is soooo inspiring, too bad, didnt see it form beginning to end, wish i could get the entire season DVDs somewhere...

Had nothing to do a few weeks ago and turned the "new" programme to Bravo on (EFC) in the UK...so i caught episode 1 season 1 and i was hooked lol , thought it would suck but i have watched it every day and the last episode of season 1 was on today , brilliant. But i did hear everything after season 1 isnt as good

You are correct.But he developed the original story line and all the intricate story aspects that yielded the original cream.I meant that that the people after gene could develope the store line into the same class as gene did with the first two seasons.The master crafter was gone.

ah right I understand, he had already developed the early story, once that was gone it was up to other writers to continue it and they failed. I eventually did see the rest of the series after my original post and I have to agree with most people here, season 1 was amazing, season 2 was decent and then they gradually got even worse. William Boone was a loss

The death of william boone should tell you something.isn't odd that such a well developed character could dissapear just like that.How do you just replace Aragorn from lotr or Rand al'Thor from the weel of time.I originaly smelled jealousy .Somebody thought themselves superior to gene's original recomendations on future episodes and brought in their own ideas on what they thought was best for the series.Must have been a real eye opener for certain people close to the issue.

Good points, I thought it was strange that Liam looked like Boone, I know he was a different character but the way he dressed and his actual appearance seemed like they had auditioned for a William Boone look alike, too bad newbie couldnt act

I liked the first three seasons, but after that it got all very much separated from the original thing. I still have to see the last season, but after watching soms episodes i got bored. I don't like those new aliens, i find it over the top, and I don't like the fact that almost every character disappears sooner or later. I miss Da'an especially, and when the Taelons are gone in the last season it just feels like another tvshow....

I really like this serie. Full of conspiration and doubles agendas from aliens and humans. I hope in future if aliens came to earth and find the way of curve universe they came with a feeling of fraternity and not with underground agendas hahahaha!! xD

Go to tudou(dot)com, I think it's a japanese page, but it's like youtube. You can find there the whole 1st, 2nd and 3rd season. Type 泰星来客 - this into the search window in the upper corner. The episodes are in english so don't worry, but there are some with dualaudio(very annoying!). You can also find some episodes in youku(dot)com and 56(dot)com.

I started to watch this show near the end of season 2 so I never got a chance to know the Boone character Liam was always the main Guy in all the episodes (except for season 5) I saw. all the comments I see about how great the first season and Boone were, really make me want to see the first season even more, But Liam was a great lead and season 3-4 were great always had you guessing but season 5 was garbage should have ended at 4.

No one who saw only the last episodes would believe it, but the first season was one of the best sci-fi dramas period. Great stories, characters, conflict, mystique- everything you hope for. Then somebody got their panties in a wad about Kevin Kilner, so they killed off Boone, radically revamped the show, and the rest of the series started off mediocre and from there only got worse. The mismanagement of EFC should studied in classrooms as a test case in how to ruin a great show.

They really fucked themselves in season 2 didn't they? Another storyline they poorly mis-handled was the one with Isabel. After her and Lily realized they were sisters, she was pretty much all forgotten about, save for a few scenes in Auger's bar.

The first season was good, and the show was pretty good through the next two seasons. Season 4, the show was starting to reek (How did the Companions not know Kincaid was working with resistance?), and season 5 (except for the episode with Margot Kidder as a female Dr. Lechter) was virtually unwatchable for me.

If only the show producers retained the quality of the classic first season without radically (and clumsily) changing both the main plot, setting and characters (wiping out William Boone without some of his issues resolved is one major mistake), EFC could have been one of the best sci-fi shows since Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek series as well as Babylon 5.
