@gueromesero The translation. I was 11 when I had heard DS at the first time. Although I was a child and liked Spice Girls and so on at that time, this music had attracted me. I grew up with DS songs, Mark's guitar and sprechgesang. Last year I have bought me the "Alchemy" album and have listened to it using headphones. The sound have struck me. Now it is in my heart, it makes me feel alive. In my opinion DS and Uriah Heep's "July Morning" are the best things I've ever listened to. Thanks them!

Maybe it's the lights over there; maybe it's the energy and power of the performance. I don't know what, but Mark really "glows" at the whole wondrous Alchemy concert. He is truly a breathtaking sight to behold. So bone meltingly gorgeous. Watching him play guitar is so intoxicating. I just can't take my eyes off him.

And I find myself wanting to touch that precious National Steel guitar almost as desperately as I want to kiss those beautiful, amazing fingers. :-)

@cabronte It is very subjective but I think Dire Straits is far up above the bands you mentioned. The Straits never looked for fame, and they didn't need to break their guitar on stage to be brilliant. It's my humble opinion.

This performance is one of my favourite live perfomances for so many reasons, mark's true talent and skill shines through, i remember listening to this version repeatedly many years ago on vhs. From 5 minutes onwards i get shivers that chart music today can never move me in the same way.. dire straits are legends and i wish i could of been there to witness something that will always be close to all our hearts.. truely epic

The thing about this song... It that it was never rushed.... Never made to make money....Played in full its over 8mins... It was only chopped down to play on radio ,if it ever was...It gives you time to think about the story.... Romet and Juliet may have been along time ago but it is felt still now across the world.... People cant be together because of complications.... The heart can take so much hurt.....

In my opinion, and I know others will disagree, the greatest BAND ever. Today's boy/girl "bands" wouldn't know one end of an instrument from the other. The only talent they have is for dancing.

Dire Straits wrote and played some of the greatest music ever, and had the pure ability to be able to go on stage and do it live, without backing tracks etc.
