@ronaldo190172 You need to wash your ears out and your mouth. For someone who suffers so much when listening to Paul Potts you seem to do it an awful lot, the intelligent thing would be not to listen to him. God your nasty.
@ronaldo190172 You are entitled to your multiple negative opinions. Pavarotti liked Paul's voice, so does Carreras. I think they know a thing or two about good tenors. Is being a nasty troll the highest you aspire to?
I listened to Pav for many years, there was magic in his voice. I loved how I felt when he sang. Paul Potts has that magic. He touches people in a way they can't explain. And he's not trying to. He loves to sing and that love just flows out of him to anyone listening. I get goosebumps everytime I hear him sing, and not even Pav did that to me.
This orchestra invited him, and I noticed that they are applauding him. Guess we know what they think.
Paul has transcended from the unassuming guy on Britain Talent to a bona fide opera singer. In the process, many Youtube opera critics did a lot of ragging on him. They must all be eating crow right about now because this guy has proven beyond all doubt that he is the real deal. In fact, I think complex as the music is, it is limiting him in that we are not seeing the full extent of his voice because he has to adhere to the music. I think he has a stronger voice than the music allows him to show
You listen to Potts because of his story not skill. Then again, people like you are always loving greats like William Hung, huh? You are affected by what Simon Cowell wants you to be affected by. Good work.
great improvement! Now work the high voice which complications begin in the middle. He's made so damn good improvements though. I dont care for him but I know hard work. The high voice especially for tenor will make or break you just becasue you can sing it doesnt mean it is done right. too white... The high note at the end is the perfect indication just in case u guys say im a hater. Watch his jaw go nuts any time you see stress in the face indicates tension. BUt huge improvement, congrats

uhm...let me just say I heard Potts when he started and he had potential but really most of it was garbage and Ive commented on it and honestly I know what im talking about but this guy has made some drastic drastic improvements. This song here is well prepared he must first be intelligent to learn from whomever is teaching him but it does show that he works hard too. I will say this world is packed with talented opera singers you guys just never hear of them because they dont get commercial
I was impressed of the Mr. Paul Potts huge progress in classic opera singing!

I can't get over how free his voice is. So many young opera singers today, including some made professionals, try so hard to SOUND like an opera singer that the voice gets all tense and bunched up to the point where they are using maybe 60% of its actual capacity. It is SO refreshing to hear a voice at its fullest liberated potential.

Potts is a good singer generally but once you've heard Pavarotti live you realize this guy will never in a million years have the gift that Pav. had. No way.
@occidental88 You're right about one thing, Paul will never have that pinched upper register that your hero Pavarotti was so well known for. Seriously, I can't believe you aren't even aware that this critical assessment comes from his peers as well as those who don't care for the Pav. As far as the "aneurysm" thing is concerned, there are well known stories of people who used to sit in the front row of a Corelli concert just to see him turn incredible shades of red to purple on the high notes.
My daughter and I were fortunate to see Paul live in Dallas on July 6, 2009. He is an amazing tenor and such a wonderful gentleman. He is truly living his dream.
Accompanied by one of the finest orchestras in Europe you gave a fabulous performance. You seem to be in excellent vocal shape. I'd really love to see a release of a LIVE DVD next year.
Holy, he keeps getting better and better every time I hear him! Paul you amaze me haha.
What a great place to perform too! The place looks amazing!
He was in Calgary on June 28th and he was absolutely Amazing! Although he didn't have a whole symphony with him that night. I'm kind of glad about that. It may have just been the video but it sounded like the orchestra was too strong. ANYWHO! I LOVED IT! ; )
I saw Paul perform in Chicago. FABULOUS ! ! With each rendition and interpretation the audience was breathless ! I look forward with great anticipation to his next tour of the US. But, for now, I shall have to be content with wonderful vids such as this. Paul, I hope you have a restful time on holiday with your lovely wife and I look forward to seeing you both again.
rlacjfdn, not to worry. Paul hones his craft with each beautiful rendition. As for the other "Paul Potts" . . . I hope someone would post vids of them . . you perhaps ? ? ? I would love to give them a listen.
his growth is obvious. really glad for him

WOW! Absolutely wonderful!
My daughter and I were fortunate to see Paul live in Dallas on July 6, 2009. He is an amazing tenor and such a wonderful gentleman. He is truly living his dream.

I have all of Paul's releases, of course. I wonder if the Czech National Symphony has any. They are fabulous.

Paul, well done indeed!
