  • If you get the CD, you can enhance it yourself. I promise you won't be disappointed.

  • By Autumn 1977, Steve Hackett left the band.

  • Genesis = A good acid trip EVERY time

  • @deathmetalhippy Too bad good acid is extremely hard to come by these days

  • Best Steve Hackett albums: (tough question)..'the tokyo tapes' (both audio & video). With that they do 'In this quiet earth'. 2) any one of the first 4 albums. Each one has their respective gems. 3) best acoustic. probably Bay of Kings. or Momentum. If he ever plays near you he is worth seeing..Great guitarist with band & lyrics to crush you with, with a smile on his/your face.

  • WE NEED SOME SORT OF VIDEO LIVE FEED.

  • GREAT TO HEAR THIS TRACK LIVE! They seem to have remained very close to the studio version as I recall. Sometimes live versions of LP/CD tracks can be vastly different -and in a positive way sometimes!

A little enhancing (avoiding the term processing!) might be beneficial as there seems to be an excess of midrange & top end with cymbals overly prominent drowning out the rest So enhancing the almost inaudible bass would be good! (just a thought TommyGunn1028)!

  • great live version of a pearl hackett!

  • a flower in full bloom... how quickly it would wither away!

  • Great .

  • 14 (fourteen) TIMES WITHIN THE LOS ANGELES BASIN AREA, A LIFE'S EXPERIENCE FOR ANYONE TO WITNESS...

  • Can someone tell which Programm can do such Wonderful Colour Effects and how to put them on a video?

  • I love Genesis.

  • Amazing Steve Hackett guitar. Why the hell did they mix him so low in the studio and Seconds Out. Man's a fucken genius.

  • @swinetrek Not only that, the Seconds Out recording isn't even the complete show (and the setlist isn't in the right order, either)! The Live in Zurich 1977 recording is far superior.

  • awesome, yeah....................

  • Beautiful! How did you do it?

  • they blew my mind in 1983, I had no expectations because my brother popped up with an extra ticket just days before the show...been a fan ever since. they broke up way too soon....

    Lamb is my favorite album

  • The Lamb is the BEST!! I was reading in Gabriel's biography recently that Peter wanted to make a movie of the Lamb, and it couldn't get funded. It would have made a great movie, or animated movie. I love the Lamb. It's like a surreal dream / nightmare. (with a soundtrack!)

  • @pazzensutra you know this isn't from Lamb, don't you?

  • music today relies too much on the lyrics....this stuff is like getting on an abstract carpet ride!!!

  • like this one. i guess that steve wrote it. im positive that steve wrote it cause it still sounds like earlier genesis.

  • They were still awesome without gabriel and hackett , I saw them live in Lieden, Holland and they were brilliant.

  • mindblowing

  • Amazing. That's all I can say.

  • one of their best albums!!!

  • Excellent!!! Excellent.... Best live version of this tune I have ever heard. I will order the set when I am able...

  • Quel giorno ero lì! Il giorno dopo Steve suonò per l'ultima volta con i Genesis....era finita un era...ma io nonl lo sapevo ancora!

  • I saw them do this song in Detroit in April, '76. I'll never forget seeing Banks crack a rare smile around the 3:10 mark or Hackett marching in step in his knee-high boots around the 3:20 mark. Great show, fantastic performance. Who does music like this anymore???

  • Who does music like this anymore???

    Certainly NOT Genesis unfortunately

  • yeah they were psychedelic all right! i saw them in feb '77 !

  • Indistinguishable blend of guitar and keyboard sound....perfect mesh! This shit is live? Gorgeous! Anyone who says Genesis sucked after Peter Gabriel left doesn't understand the power of pure instrumental music!!!

  • SPOT ON FELLA!!

  • no, they didn't really suck right away, when Peter left, but they definately sucked when Steve Hacket left too!

  • Absofuckilooooooooooootly.

This album was the last time the 'hairy one' sang properly and meshed in with others. Sorry but its true.

  • sorry but i didn't get this. who's supposed to be the hairy one who sang properly?

  • duke is there masterpiece, turn it up loud!!!

behind the lines, dutchess, guide vocal, dukes travels, dukes end .there last great album in my opinion.great progressive songs, great haunting ballads, pop songs with substance.if misunderstanding came out today people would be wowed

  • Sometimes I forget that after Peter left, it still was the SAME BAND that played behind Peter! And they were great. They certainly were brave to go on like they did, and Phil definetely was brave to take over singing.

  • @pazzensutra we are the real lovers of the band... nobody of us has forgotten Peter ... EVEN THAT YOU INTERPRETED ABSOLUTELY MY THOUGTS ABOUT PHIL... GENESIS CONTINUE BEING THE SAME BAND...

  • yes the TRUE fans thinking like u ...

    genesis rules in ALL periods

  • yes ...even the version in invisble touch world tour......... they flawless again.

daryl kick ass and tony too..

never expired this music thnak god!!!

  • great album... !!!

    long live psycho genesis !

  • great song.....

you get excited and then the afterglow kicks in......

and its like.... to HELL WITH THE WORLD!!!!!!

  • GENI.....SIS!!!!!

  • BLESSED2BABLE2LISTEN.... 2THIS...

  • Genieten.

  • sick song

  • This song is awesome.

  • While his other solo recordings from the 70's may have merits, "Voyage of the Acolyte" is the most adventurous, truley one of the classic art rock records of the 70's, his other solo material from that time simply is not on that level. It was his 1st solo record, and kind of his answer to The Lamb which he was not too keen on."Voyage of the Acolyte" is kind of a masterpiece, so, if you don't think that much of his other previously mentioned records, definately check out "Voyage..."

  • ..and we wonder if Steve really knows what a classic he created. Sure hope he does.

  • my favorite steve's albums pls don't touch and spectral mornings.that's what i'd recommend to start with.

  • if truth be told i was at this concert.i was working in lucerne nearby for the summer.this was the first time i saw them-words fail me ;the quality of the music is amazeing....

  • Wondeful guitar, was it still Steve, or did he already left at that time? Looks like the great Hackett sound.

By the way, what did he do after he left the band?

  • It's still Steve Hackett here. After he left the band he put out some solo albums

  • Which of his solo albums is the best?

  • My favorite is Voyage of the Acolyte which he actually released while still w/Genesis in 1975. His first post-Genesis album is Please Don't Touch released in 1978. Do a google search of "steve hackett" wikipedia to find out more about his solo career. Then you can take it from there

  • @Tommygun1028 "Spectral Mornings" and "Defector" are some good solo albums from Steve, in addition to the ones you mentioned :)

  • Please Don't Touch.

  • @BVERRIER He not only made some solo shit, but so incredible solo shit! For example check out sierra quemada!

  • @BVERRIER Spectral Mornings (1979) is great too!

  • Yep the 77 tour is my very favorite. Rainbow Jan 1,2,3, Southampton Jan 20th, Brazil and Zurich (both the "old" and the assembled Digita Bros vesrion) - this is what is sadly missing on the Seconds Out Album, but I understand the decision at the time to leave out almost all Wind and W. - even though the live performances beat the studio versions by miles - even "All in a Mouses' Night", dropped early during the tour. Where Tony is unable to switch fast enough from choir to violins on his M400...

  • Do you have any knowledge WHY they left out all W & W stuff? I´m actually quiet a Genesis fan but i never heard about one certain reason they left out the W&W-stuff.

  • I like Daryl very much but when Steve plays, he can make your brain explodes.

  • It's the ABSOLUTE BEST of Genesis in 1977, before Steve made his exit!! Steve was so fucking important to the band's sound - and, to this day, he is sorely missed. Not to diss, Daryll Steurmer, he does the best he can with Steve's material, but it was NEVER as good as Steve playing with Genesis!! In fact - NOT EVEN CLOSE!

  • i shiver everytime i hear that...

  • Awesome!!! This is definitely one of the best songs of of Wind and Wuthering. Thanks for posting this!

  • This sounds really good - is there a concert video of this (without all the visuals)...?

  • no video footage of this show that I know of, just and audio only CD set

  • Yes Hackett was great - and Banks is an utter genius. His chord progressions are incredible - you always know when Banks is in the house...

  • Steve Hackett awesome!!!

  • The visuals are interesting but cannot keep up with old Genesis taking flight! Young guys out there, you have to try and imagine how this stuff just blew our heads off when it was performed brand new 30 years ago.

  • First discovered the guys 85ish with nursery cryme, blew me away, been the same since. couple of mates, like me 40ish, like green day and fountains of wayne etc, which is fair enough but honestly i couldn't give a monkeys about all that stuff cos it'll never be a patch on this, and i'm not sure if anything, in the last ten years comes close.

  • Unbelievable! What an absolutely incredible performance. Thank you for sharing. I've listening to this so many times already. There's a slight change in the harmonics at the beginning that makes this version so outstanding! What a great band!

  • theres no doubt genesis are the best band in the world as they can make any type of song about anything, there is magic in every song they have made, the only bad song they have ever made was WHO DUNNIT and i even like that one, people simply dont give them enough credit. i do believe they are better than the beatles lol

  • jaja queen is the best genesis is the second

id like sometime to see play tony banks and brian may together. dreaming doesnt cost jajja

  • im not fan of queen but its true. the both band are british and great musicians. they influenced deeply in owrn music playing

    queen first genesis second....

  • Qeen? I mean I'm a big fan of their early music but how can you even mention both bands in teh sam breath? Add ELP and Yes 'in the pack'. Even if they also were so different. And so great in so different ways. I just love prog rock...

Thanx, Tommygun, for all your postings.

  • @PrZemek44 : Don't forget King Crimson!

  • Who dunnit is awesome! Nothing else sounds like it, and it's meant to be a groove song.

I would give the title of worst Genesis song to "Invisible Touch." Not the album, just the song

  • Would like to agree with all of you that Tony Banks IS a genius!!

  • I have this King Bisquit Flower Hour broadcast from the 77 tour. Saw this tour as well. I've said it once, I'll say it again... saw them for $4!!!!

  • thanks mann love it!

  • play it tombo

  • The section of Blood on the Rooftops where Phil is actually singing... i learned this on piano with a sorta jazz flair.... fun to play cuz it's all Tony Banks genius... i will never understand why more Genesis fans don't give Tony mad props. Anyway, i'll make a vid of me playing this song on piano if enuf people ask me to.

  • Is this the same tour that Seconds Out was recorded on my friend?

  • Yep. 1977 Wind and Wuthering Tour. IMHO the best. The Zurich bootleg (soundboard) is one of the best from this tour. Check Genesis Trade Yahoo groups. On the original 2 LP Seconds Out no songs from the "Wind" album except Afterglow were incluided. Seconds also includes Cinema Show from the 1976 tour with Bill Bruford on drums.

  • pia bbè sta canzone

  • AHAHAHHAHAHHA GRANDE!!!

  • Love this...but it really needs to be sandwiched in between 'Unquiet Slumbers' and the awesome 'Afterglow' to get the full effect...

  • steve sounds so down in the mix like always...

  • pure class from Steve who else:)

  • I think I'm becoming gay 'cause I love these guys even more. Their music is such a perfect master pieces. Particulary this song. Lovely!

  • I hope they play masterpieces like this in Denver on Oct 6!

  • or at Chicago on Oct 23 and 4th.

  • I got this song on my platimun collection of Genesis music it continues into afterglow where Phil Sings unlike this song he doesn't sing at all for the entire song

  • its noise scranble noise thats all

  • Hmmm. Perhaps it sounds like noise because you simply do not hear what is there, what others hear. That should make you curious about knowing and hearing more.

  • Never have I visited a site so repeatedly thanks to Tommygun's vids on YouTube. Going through a trip time and time again! Let's all agree... you're a gift from the Gods, Tommygun!

  • Thanks so much jim, unbelievable feedback. I've also noticed that other people are starting to put up home-made videos with featuring classic Genesis. But NEVER FORGET WHO STARTED THE TREND, and nobody can do it like I can. Some people just have the touch! :-)

  • I agree.

  • they wont play this on tour they can stuff the ticket price where the sun don,t shine. abbacab?

  • i'm with you

  • Im not with you... This song rocks, but they have a lot of other good stuff they play on tour...

  • can't play this stuff without the master steve hackett

  • you are just out of this world..i love your work., awesome..,

  • Genesis North American TOUR 2007 - Turn It On Again :
