That was great!! My best friend sent me this video (he's just bought a ukulele) and I can see why he likes it. James, that was so energetic, I loved it. You're a great composer.

We have a ukulele at home - it's my mum's old one - and I'm quite tempted to play on it when I return for the summer.

You can see the spark of passion here that seems to be missing in some of his latest performances. I've seen a video where James discusses how he has recently lost his passion in the instrument, and that he is taking time away from recording and experimenting with new styles in order to find it again (search "chopsticks ukulele").

i think james hill is great for his musical complexity in the songs he has put together

but jake shimabukuro has incredible variety in the songs he has composed

i think james hill's songs are harder to play, but jake's songs are more varied and there are probably 10x more jake songs than james hill songs

James Hill is the greatest...just check out "Ode to a frozen boot" or "One note samba" from january this year...Jake is ofcourse also an exelent uke-player, but check his albums. He hides behind alot of other instruments...James grows a little bit more every time you watches him!
