  • That mower is an antique.......should have been retired years ago. Scags are the best around. Try a new one and you will see!

  • wow that sucks. good mowers arn't cheap.

  • hahaha scags suckkk

  • hope that mower is under warranty, good luck

  • Scags have lousy electrical systems. Actually, they break down a lot, in general.

I'm a gardener and I have to deal with a fussy Scag pretty regularly. Not too surprised that this would eventually happen to one.

    Hope no one was hurt.

  • How it break down alot? I had use for 2 year, no trouble, and still good run. I have not repair any of it than mainance

  • Electrical glitches...sometimes the starter won't work, other times it'll randomly start cranking and won't shut off until the battery is disconnected.

Sometimes the hydraulic drive acts up and leaks, sometimes the engine backfires terribly for no apparent reason.

  • hmm... that funny... your had probem and mine are nothing problem. it must something not right.

  • Well, to be fair, mine's a bit older. But I still had it rebuilt just two years ago, and it still breaks down way too often.

  • Damn, those really need major improves on those Scag mowers company.

  • @2ndOfficerCHL does it backfire when starting or shutting off i think most zeroturns backfire like 8 of 10 times when shutting off

  • @joeldude76 Yup, it would consistently backfire when shutting down, and sometimes it would just cough and spit for no reason while running. Shame, too, because it drove great and made mowing big lawns effortless.

  • Mine just burned today....

Not adding gas. It was an 06 tiger cub.

    I'm pretty mad

  • Thats what I thought at first but after talking to my mate the operator he said he felt a strong electric shock before it caught fire. A mechanic at my work said it's possible the wireing could have had a surge buring through the flex cable and a feul line resting on the wireing wouldn't stand a chance.

  • i'd say he put fuel in with a hot engine and spilled a smidge.electrical my ass.
