I guess for the newer versions of Audacity you have to use a plugin called Kn0ck0ut.dll, but even it didn't work, might be worth a try though. These videos all duped but the methods never seem to work :/

@AnotherFanDubFan Yes. Don't use it on mono music or live-recorded tracks. It only works on professionally mixed stuff where a mono vocal track is put on stereo-recorded music, without any kind of echo effects on the vocals.

@BrianCruz21: I had a headphone set that did it once, just because of a bad wire.

It's just because music is usually mono voice put on actual stereo-recorded music. Invert the signal (the waves) of one of the two tracks of the stereo music and then combine them as mono sound, and the voice waves cancel each other out. It depends on the music though, and back vocals are usually leaned towards one of the channels, meaning they remain too.

The effect kills the center of the panorama so why kick drum and part of bass is gonne :P if your track is mono there is nothing to kill :D use stereo :)
