  • to 709division. I don't agree you're Viet =P

  • I'm Vietnamese and I want to see the Communist gone from Vietnam, and all other counties. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • Keep on going Vincent...Greetings from Italy BP.

  • Wonderful Video. Can I please use this video for my Senior Geography Project. As I am researching Vietnamese Boat People and this can be very useful for my project. Thank You

  • thanks very much from germany

  • The 20th century had been a great disaster for the human being, it's estimated that more that 150 millon people perished due to wars, famine, bad governance and corruption and natural disasters. I have great sympaty for the boat people, wish those that could find an opportunity to success in other countries and society do their utmost to help their country men.

  • wow...speechless...........so touching a video clip......great job

  • Wow, such a touching video. I loved it, good job Vincent! :-)

  • Really nice mix of video and Andrew Lam's story.

    I like it.

  • Very nice tribute to your family and all the boat people of South Vietnam .

There are so many untold stories . I respect the pride and fortitude of the Vietnamese people.

    Kind Regards,

    Mark & Ngoc Tuyet

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • Do you have any problem with GOOKS, buddy? GOOKS ARE MUCH MORE EDUCATED THAN YOU ARE! They live in the bigger house than yours and drive nicer cars because THEY WORK HARD! They SHOW respect to others! They DON'T call people by names! Please respect others as well as yourself!

  • Yeah i have problems with gooks.

Lol 'bigger houses' you mean a fucking shed in the middle of fuckin nowhere HAHAHAHAH

  • Fifth, "gooks' children" are MUCH smarter than you are!

Sixth, look around your neighbor and see how many "gooks" graduated from college, have a nice family, jobs, dress nicer, and POLITE!

Seventh, "gooks" don't send their parents to nursing homes. "Gooks" work hard to support their families back home.

Eighth, what have you DONE to your family, your country, or people around you? But guess what? "Gooks" have DONE MANY GOOD THINGS for their countries, their people, and etc.

  • One thing I want to let you know that I'M PROUD OF MYSELF because I'M A GOOK! (^_^) I'm SMART, BEAUTIFUL, WELL EDUCATED, and ENDEARED by many people!

    GOD BLESS YOU!

  • great job with the video.

have you or your parents ever returned to vietnam?

im vietnamese and my parents were immigrants but my uncle and his wife escaped on a boat just like your parents. it always touching to hear someone else's story and see how our people struggled. i just hope VN will be free of the communist rule one day but until that day comes,i could never fully be proud to be vietnamese because of what our country stands for.

  • woah woah woah hang on there, im vietnamese also, check ouyt vids of mines, xD

  • Thank you so much Lowfat442 for your very touching and great video.I am deeply moved to watch this video. Truly yours,

  • The venerable tone in your voice is evident, Vincent. I'm sure your parents were\are very proud of you.

  • Thanks so much for your kind words Scropu2. :]

  • Great video!

  • this video reminds me of my mom. great video, and faved.

  • Haha, I thought you replied to MY simple comment with that, I was totally offended =P

turns out you replied to me, but wanted to reply to the guy who was replying to me.

Yes I agree, you can't blame the poor village people for anything.

=P I was just like.... eh.... I didn't comment anything like that.... *teary eyes*

  • My apology kinito1! Misfire!! LOL

  • My good friend....Great work!! You must have spent many hours to edit this video ...Thank you.. You are speaking those of us who have left Viet Nam many years ago( seems like yesterday) looking for another life...It was one of those journeys that would last a life time.....

  • The footage of the lady holding the little burnt boy ..I'm out of words..

  • oh my gosh, this is very deep!!!!!! thanks for the video!!!

  • so much sacrefice, so much effort .. vietnamese blood have been draining ... let's the history justify what we been doing ... vietnam motherland forever in my heart!!!!

  • yes, but that poor little burnt boy in the clip was burnt by American napalm fired on his village.

  • Sorry, but it is war. If the VCs and North VNese Communists didn't stand behind civilians like cowards, then those innocent people didn't have to die. The Fall of Saigon triggers a Communist Flood in many countries in South East Asia.... Look at Burma, look at Cambodia, even Malaysia an Indonesia were overwhelmed. Thanks to the Anti-War Ignorants, more than 100 millions of innocent people have to die by the Communists. Cambodia and Burma are 2 great example.

  • I don't like communists. However America is just the lesser of the 2 evils. Is there really democracy in America? Bush is a war criminal and many people don't like war and how come our representatives did not impeach him? and the US troops are still in Iraq when there has never been weapon of mass destruction. Think twice when you feel so proud of living in the US. The US has promoted war all over the world. They like to play war game. It matters because life hurts.

  • it was an intel failure. there is a HUGE difference between being wrong and lying Washington Post - 'Bush Lied'? If Only It Were That Simple. By Fred Hiatt June 9, 2008; Page A17 and the US is a democracy, which is why the people could vote the republicans out of office; and Iraq is now a democracy thanks to the Iraqi/US victory over the insurgency Telegraph - Iraqis turn out in their millions to vote by Aqeel Hussein in Fallujah and Nick Meo 01 Feb 2009 America is great. #1
  • and yes, i am a republican, and proud of it

  • powercomm, i think u just don't fully understand democracy even u live in a free country. US government & the president represent Americans, the president can declare war to any countries for whatever reason of interests. After that congress can vote to stop the war if its found the president's action is unconstitution. if u learn that from US history.

As a citizen u can form any group to protest, or the most effective way vote him out. I don't like war but sometimes u have no choice.

  • if u think America is not a good place for u & u r not proud of living in US. I'm sure Vietnam have plenty of room for u, & the communist loves u.

I have heard and see many b.s ppl, they keep saying they don't like America, but continue to live in America. May be America provides the best education, job, food, freedom, etc. in the world? u tell me.

Everyday, I see ppl all over the world trying, in some case die, to get to US. while, i don't see many leaving America. huh? what's a hyprocrite.

  • I agree

  • This was perfect. Do you mind if I use a couple of your lines for a presentation I'm giving at school? I like the "Sigh...gone" part especially.

  • Yes you may. Good luck on your presentation :)

  • Thanks for all your comments, it really means a lot :)

  • Fasho.

  • Thank you for sharing. It touched me in some kind of way. I just moved with my family to Noth America, maybe thats why I feel related, even if our stories are different.

    Thanks :)

My parents were boat people also. Mum got accepted into Australia, while dad into the US. They met when dad was holidaying in Australia. Too much info? heh~ :P

Good luck with your studies in Carolina, and I'm sure you'll turn out to be a very defined piece of metal one day. :D :D

  • Not too much info at all. Thanks for the kind words :) I'm glad to hear your story is quite similar.

  • AWESOME.

  • As always, thanks!

  • Wow Vincent, bravo.

You captured my attention throughout the whole video.

    Did you edit it yourself?

And your voice is so pleasant to listen to. :]

  • I did edit it myself and I'm glad you liked my voice? :)

  • Bravo!

    And yes, I do. :]

My voice is so bleh to listen to compared to yours. Haha.
