Here's the truth about LC. According to the manual, it is to help your traction is slippery conditions such as mud, not for faster launch times.
The GTR records the RPM it does. LC has been destroying the tranny anywhere from 2-35 uses. Use of it, which is why they record the RPM's VOIDs the warranty.
So basically it is a feature you can't trust because you will have to replace your tranny, at 20k.
So LC is really just a waste.
Impressive for what it has done, but Fugly as all sin.
Kids, magazine lap and 1/4 mile times are not guaranteed when you buy a car. There is a organic device between the wheel and the seat that has a dramatic effect on a car's performance.
Some guys can't launch or shift to save their life. Automatics may be slush boxes but they can save the inept from them selves.

I would like to see you drive ANY high performance in terencial downpours, genious. It may have been going to 60 in 3.2 but it was also destroying the trans, there is reason why Nissan has reduced the LC from holding gears from 4500rpm to 3000rpm which has slowed the 0-60 to 3.6 seconds.

Why would you mention "without launch control"? That's like saying, if you start from 1K rpm on a Z06, its 0-60 is like 4.0. It's completely irrelevant. The launch control is the equivalent to dropping in the clutch on any other car - it's just easier.

Ok everyone is trying to beat up on the GTR. It'll be very interesting when it's stronger brother the GTR V-Spec comes out in late 2010. Anyknow who knows GTR knows what I'm talking about. I'll let you guys know when I get mines.
It's not offical, but Nissan has said that the V SPEC will have 550 BHP.
The GTR's tranny don't suck, apparently the factory oil doesn't provide enough lubrication. So there are aftermarket companies trying to get out a better oil (Some already have brought it out). The factory oil seems to break down too fast.
That didn't really engineer the tranny oil that well for this transmission. First year cars will have bugs.
The GTR is faster than the Z06. The ZR1 is faster than the GTR. The ZR1 is also faster than the GT2. The SRT-10 ACR is faster than the ZR1 and GT2. Buy what you like, pay for what you like. Depends on you. I would go for looks, good for environment, price, quality and decent performance.
this times seem right to me, i still think the z06 is the bargain car. the GTR might be faster but it has to many flaws, the transmission won't handle more power than what already has. this is why the vspec is loosing weight while adding a bit more power. also the GTR voids the warranty if you use launch control too many times. so basically a GTR with no launch control will only be as fast as the base corvette. I personally think the GTR is over rated. so if i had the money i get a z06.
The ZO6 will not DISTROY the GTR. I will admit that the ZO6 is faster though.
The GTR weighes 3800 pounds VS the Zo6's 3150 pounds.
For a 3800 pound that is rated 25 BHP horsepower less than Zo6, I think its pretty impressive that it keeps up. Stock GTR pulls 11.5-11.8 in the 1/4 mile which is in par with the Zo6.
I know from a roll the Zo6 will win, but come on. It weighs 650 pounds less and has 25 BHP more power. Funny thing is, it barely out runs the GTR.

It is a stage one LPE vette, it is just a pully upgrade for 3k taking the ZR1 to 680hp. Look at LPE's website if you doubt.
The GTR is a P800 that is putting down 750+hp and the P800 mods cost to around 25k with the coolant mod and race tune included.

actually the GTR only has partial all wheel drive, most of the power goes to the back. it only uses the front on the twists.

The ZR-1 is 20k more than the GTR! The GT-r is also a more practical car for day to day driving. Also gets better MPG with a V6

Here's the truth about LC. According to the manual, it is to help your traction is slippery conditions such as mud, not for faster launch times.
The GTR records the RPM it does. LC has been destroying the tranny anywhere from 2-35 uses. Use of it, which is why they record the RPM's VOIDs the warranty.
So basically it is a feature you can't trust because you will have to replace your tranny, at 20k.
So LC is really just a waste.
Impressive for what it has done, but Fugly as all sin.

I thin k it was MSN or Yahoo that had a test proving that theory wrong...
They tested the GT-R 100 times using launch control and then somehow tested the tranny alone and it was working perfectly fine.
I'm not sure if it was 100 times in 1 day or if it was over a month... a year... i dont know but it was fine regardless.
It voids the warranty because it basically PROVES you are racing it. If Chevrolet could PROVE you were racing the ZO6... they would void it too.

Kids, magazine lap and 1/4 mile times are not guaranteed when you buy a car. There is a organic device between the wheel and the seat that has a dramatic effect on a car's performance.
Some guys can't launch or shift to save their life. Automatics may be slush boxes but they can save the inept from them selves.

GTR sucks really. Its a wanna be car to keep up with the Viper and Z06.
Without launch control the Gtr only managed a 0-60 in 4.1s. launch after launch.
All other countries try to compete with American cars. If you had a viper...and drove one...no car can compare to how fun it is. Nothing. Trust me.

damn another GTR on here...LOL...that 0-60 4.1 was done by "R&T" the "only" MAGAZINE with that 0-60 times, LOL...if u go to Asia, Euro, Austrailia Magazines, including Motor Trend, InsideLine, they ALL can 0-60 (3.2), even TOP GEAR got that to. "if u had a Viper..and drove one..no car can compare to fun it is. Nothing" LOL...maybe u need to check out "MINES R34" or "NISMO R34" that will change your mine, plus u can't have fun if u can't run in the rain or snow, LOL...

I would like to see you drive ANY high performance in terencial downpours, genious. It may have been going to 60 in 3.2 but it was also destroying the trans, there is reason why Nissan has reduced the LC from holding gears from 4500rpm to 3000rpm which has slowed the 0-60 to 3.6 seconds.

GTR sucks? What are you smoking? Around a track, the Viper and Z06 can't keep up with IT. And even in the 1/4 mile, as this video demonstrated, the GTR is a beast (stock: approx. 11.3s)
Why would you mention "without launch control"? That's like saying, if you start from 1K rpm on a Z06, its 0-60 is like 4.0. It's completely irrelevant. The launch control is the equivalent to dropping in the clutch on any other car - it's just easier.

actually for the acr and zr1, the driver doesnt even matter on a quarter mile. They both destroy th gtr. so unless they totally screw up they win. THe one where its a driver game is this one z06 vs gtr...but in most vids the z06 wins in a quartermile.

The difference of dropping the pedal on a clutch and the LC in the GT-R is that the LC kills trannies. The GT-R isn't going anywhere 11.3 in the 1/4. The fastest recorded stock was 11.6 and that was with the tranny destroying LC, without it 12.2. This video was a rarity when a GT-R beat a ZO6. The driver of the ZO6 can't drive. And about the ZO6's 0-60....more like 3.4 and 1/4 in 11.0-11.4 @127.1 mph. U have NO clue as to what u are talking about!!!!!!

The gtr is not ment for drag racing, specially when its almost 2 tons, which is over 800lbs more then the z06. Im a nissan fan, but if i had 75k to spend i would buy a z06. But then again, thats why i drive a z32 with 609rwhp on stock long block

v spec would only come with maybe 505 hp, because the transmission won't support anymore. the gtr v spec would focus on reducing weight instead.

It's not offical, but Nissan has said that the V SPEC will have 550 BHP.
The GTR's tranny don't suck, apparently the factory oil doesn't provide enough lubrication. So there are aftermarket companies trying to get out a better oil (Some already have brought it out). The factory oil seems to break down too fast.
That didn't really engineer the tranny oil that well for this transmission. First year cars will have bugs.

The GTR is faster than the Z06. The ZR1 is faster than the GTR. The ZR1 is also faster than the GT2. The SRT-10 ACR is faster than the ZR1 and GT2. Buy what you like, pay for what you like. Depends on you. I would go for looks, good for environment, price, quality and decent performance.

this times seem right to me, i still think the z06 is the bargain car. the GTR might be faster but it has to many flaws, the transmission won't handle more power than what already has. this is why the vspec is loosing weight while adding a bit more power. also the GTR voids the warranty if you use launch control too many times. so basically a GTR with no launch control will only be as fast as the base corvette. I personally think the GTR is over rated. so if i had the money i get a z06.

The ZO6 will not DISTROY the GTR. I will admit that the ZO6 is faster though.
The GTR weighes 3800 pounds VS the Zo6's 3150 pounds.
For a 3800 pound that is rated 25 BHP horsepower less than Zo6, I think its pretty impressive that it keeps up. Stock GTR pulls 11.5-11.8 in the 1/4 mile which is in par with the Zo6.
I know from a roll the Zo6 will win, but come on. It weighs 650 pounds less and has 25 BHP more power. Funny thing is, it barely out runs the GTR.

The true funny thing is that before the GTR hit the states all the Nissan fanboys wouldn't shut up about how the car would simply wipe the floor with a z06...but now that it's here and they've been proven wrong and that the z06 is actually faster...all they can say is..."well come on it's heavier and has less power"...like you didn't know it had those two faults before it came here...right...I mean the GTR is great..but it's just to...what's the word..."computerized" where's the fun in that car?
