"Motorcycle" is not specific to 2 wheels. The prefix "bi" and "tri" define it. 3-wheel motorcycles are not called "tricycles" for the same reason 2-wheel motorcycles are not called "bicycles". "Bike" is 2-wheels, regardless if motorized, as would "trike" be for 3-wheels, except "trike" commonly refers to a 3-wheel motorcycle with 2 wheels in back and 1 in front. I'd just call T-Rex or Spyder a "3-wheel motorcycle". If it had a roof, a "3-wheel car".
