  • Umm...wouldn't AVI actually be just a "wrapper"? I thought that what's inside that wrapper...DivX, Xvid, etc., was actually the codec...

    Also while there is a ton of info on the web about this stuff, there's a lot of mis-information as well and ultimately it's all little more than a load of minutia for the average novice to have to wade through.

  • i have a question...iwhen i try to import a clip to my editing program (vegas pro 10) it says error occured while opening codec! any help??

  • Hello, I'm currently editing our documentary that we shot with the XL1s. It is massive in size. What's the best way and program to compress it and still maintain the quality.

  • AVI is going to give you full quality but the file size will be large.

    MPEG2 when you put it on a DVD

    WMV will give you the best quality for the lowest size

    MPEG1 will give you an extremely small file size but the video quality will be lower.
