The catheter used here is Vygon catheter which has a wide range and is of very High Quality. one must look and use this catheter only for good results
very good video.in india we mostly do it without US because of cost consideration but any technology which makes it safer will always be better.thanks again
fuck this shit up just a lil bit and the patient's toast. AND WHO THE FUCK DOES THIS WITHOUT ULTRASOUND?! Oh, Brazil baboon bitches, that's who. Monkeys.
Internal jugular cannulation is an important medical procedure. An experienced physician must carefully supervise the beginner. Ultrasound guidance may be useful and may become the standard of care in non-emergencies. During my medical education, I learned of two patients that died during this procedure, one was a postpartum patient and the other one had been admitted because of a heart attack.
If you Google this procedure, you will find plenty of sites which promote the use of ultrasound. Believe me, I know someone who may be alive today if it had been used!!!
I inserted tens (if not hudreds) of central venous catheters. All were anatomically (not US guided) but I must say I had a lot of complications. Recently, I learnt how to insert them US guided. It is really safer for me and for the patient.

I don't doubt it!
It is a pretty dangerous procedure and gives the physician plenty "self reward" on every success.
Unfortunately the equipment (U.S.) is pretty expensive and demands training that's hard to justify on 90% of the world... :-(

Ultrasound for deep vein puncture?
Where in the world is that a routine???
Does it really reduces complications if compared to an experienced physician performing catheterizations without US?

@tarconal what is the role of experience in abnormal anatomy?

@654789589
what is the role of money in a country that doesn't have it??
I think that, when/where available, US-guided venopuncture should be used ALWAYS.
But in settings short on budget, money will be better spent on other areas other than this particular one.
