this is such a kick ass song. reb beach is one of my favorite guitarists of all time. he played on a Dokken album a few years ago, and is probably one of my favorite cd's. now he jams with white snake!
Sirthomas just stfu ok your not a true Winger fan so take your gay comments somewhere else please. Hey maybye in your next life when your hung like kip and myslef you will stop and smell the coffee. Look dont judge a artist when you cant even complete a good sentence. Kips Reb and crew are one of the best dam bands ever. Take your shit somewhere else please.

So shove that up your ass, k? drive thru.
this is by far Winger's all time worst song. the vocal lines themselves are good but the lyrics are absolute bubble gum crap. I remember when they released this song as the single in 1990, almost everyone I knew was so disappointed in it, I almost boycotted the album myself, I was 20 at the time. I'm glad I didn't as there are at least 5 gems from that album, especially Saint/Sinner and Rainbow/Rose. This song is one I think that helped kill this band off for years.
Well, obviously this song is not one of their best if you take all aspects of music into consideration. However you can't deny, the song has a powerful riff & a sexy groove. Sometimes you just gotta Rock!!!! & not be so cerebral. Don't get me wrong I understand where your coming from. Saint/Sinner is my favorite on that album. I love to play that on my IPod all the time, but Can't get enough is on there too!!! Peace....
Cerebral? I was lucky enough to be a teenager with a good job throughout the 80's, and the idea was that rock-hell, life, was one big party. Went to see a band a week, live. It was ruined by the grunge crap that came out in the early 90's, which is why the better of the "hair" bands are so popular today-this is exactly like rock should sound!

lol okay... why is this rated 5 stars? Madalaine and Seventeen are two songs worth a listen. But the rest of wingers stuff is down right cheesey and boy bandish with heavier guitar riffs.

I love the driving rythum of winger tunes. I always thought he had 3 problems though, the tunes were over commercialized, there were way too much filler tunes on their LPs and well, they were a hair band. Other than that, they were cool.
Crank those speakers to their limit & watch the paint peel off the walls...that's livin' baby! Winger justifies this action and has that sound like none other. 80's hair bands tuneage will rewl foreva.
I adore Winger (the new stuff is good too!) but I always wondered, am I the only one who thinks that they borrowed (in the verse) the sound and feel of "In The Heat Of The Night" by Bryan Adams? (search for the video and listen) Or am I imagining things? (probably am!)

You're right. Let's get rocked is from '92, 'cause the video for it is done with only one guitarist. It was after Steve Clark died and before they hired Vivian Campbell. So really, I should say that Let's Get Rocked sounds like this, not the other way around.
Don't get me wrong, this is a great song, the band wails, and Kip Winger is very easy on the eyes. However, did the director put enough phallic symbols in this video.
brings back great memories.."Nightlife" Bristol Tennessee 1990-91..I loved to play this song/video[my favorite] in the midnight rock set when Gerald 'the whirl' took his 'smoke' break HaHa..couldn't get enough of it
I have to agree with the guy that said Beavis and Butthead hurt this guys career. I never really listened to Winger but I wish I had pretty good and great videos lots of hot women.

I liked old school RAP: Eazy-E, NWA, Ice-T, Public Enemy, 2 Live Crew, etc. But the fact remains Kip Winger played behind Alice Cooper before he embarked on a solo career. Mr. Winger attended some of the best musical schools in the USA and knows how to play good rock music. His 2nd album was also alot better than the first.

esta cancion es buenisima, han pasado años pero no deja de gustarme...el rock no morira jamas!!! a pesar de las bandas de porqueria que hay ahora...ni idea tiene!!
That has got to be one of the sexiest songs ever. Not just the video, but the lyrics, music and Kip Winger. Damn. They did this song when I saw them live a few weeks ago and they still kick ass.
Rap, hip hop is all about hate, bitterness, and blaming "whitey" for their own probs in the ghetto...garbage! Gee lets go Rap about shooting up more gangsta, pimps,. hos, bitches and the like...good stuff! Not!
ignorance. Rap and hip hop artists have every right to speak about their mind about whatever is relevent to their life/art as any cockrock or any b/s suburban garbage FAKE teen angst thats out there. Whats the difference between raps lyrics and say any death metal band? Shut the fuck up, you sound like a fool.
The main difference is how easily a teen can be influenced by the lyrics of rap, hip hop etc. When one of these artists sings about smoking dope then treating women like meat I bet you a lot of people who hear it think it sounds like a cool, great thing to do. When a metal band sings about devouring a foetus, it's much less likely to be actually done by someone who listens to it, isn't it.
Youre gonna tell me rock music doesnt contain misogynystic behavior towards women and lyrics about using drugs? Wow. regardless of music taste, teens are gonna get high and wanna fuck, just how it goes. so if rap goes away, all the drug use and objectifying women is gonna go away? hogwash
I didn't mention rock music, it's always metal under the pump isn't it. This music here is hard rock and I agree with you that it does contain the same themes. My point is that today, for every hundred rap teens carrying guns, there are hardly any long haired denim-clad goons doing the same. I'm sure back in the day there would have been heaps, but not anymore.
no rock music in general is always under fire. PMRC debate anyone? I did a well written essay on the censorship thing my senior year. What Im saying to you is people constantly blame the music they dont listen to (therefore dont understand which creates ignorance) for all the problems. And youre generalizing by saying 'rap teens' carry guns. You went to high school right, how many of these 'rap teens' had guns that you saw?
If youre gonna wave the music flag, youd better understand that its all just as guilty, but at the end of the day they are lyrics, and words dont hurt people who are educated to understand thats all they are. Thats the parents job(to educate), not the musician's.
btw, metal is still a subgenre of ROCK just as rap was derived from something as well. I could really get into this whole history lesson on rock and rap music, but its not the place. Lets just keep it at Winger is a really GREAT band
In Australia the only people who listened to rap at my school were Arabs and a few Africans. 90% of them were in gangs, had knives and were constantly in trouble (No one in Australia has guns). Through my whole school life, I knew 2 white guys in a gang who listened to rock. The proof of my point is all around me here, and nothing you have said changes my mind or disproves what I'm saying about where I live. But yes, enough of this ay! Hooplah to this band!
Well australia was the place where they sent fugitives many years ago! :) But thats a poor represntation of all rap listeners still. There are millions and millions of others, are they packin guns too?
I know what you're saying, and it would be terribly naive of me to think all rap listeners are criminals, I know they aren't. I'm saying that around here, of all the people I know who ARE criminals, do drugs, are in gangs etc, most listen to rap. I can only come to one conclusion from that, they are stupid and the explicit lyrics in some rap influences them. And the only people who would be descendants from convicts in Australia are all imbred farmers. Hahaha.
haha yeah. But I hear ya man its like if youre in a confined area and thats all you see, of course youre gonna think that way, likewise for a black kid you know. There are alot of kids who think those lyrics are the way to do things and the artist isnt to blame really, they just write about their life. Its always the fans that ruin it
My question is why? Maybe rock artists should flash tits, ass, cars, & money in front of the screen every chance they get!! Not saying they don't do it, but not even close to the same degree.
you aint kiddin' ggrock74. The popular music of today has a place, but not every frikkin' place. I want more music like this!!!! \w/(><)\w/(This is a guy squinting giving us the metal horns!)

I agree bedpan, this song and video helped sell the band to a few, but actually closed the band off from the mainstream. It really put a label
on the band, I remember when it was released and what all the buzz surrounding the band was back in '90.

That has got to be one of the sexiest songs ever. Not just the video, but the lyrics, music and Kip Winger. Damn. They did this song when I saw them live a few weeks ago and they still kick ass.

RNRDOLL 4 years ago
The main difference is how easily a teen can be influenced by the lyrics of rap, hip hop etc. When one of these artists sings about smoking dope then treating women like meat I bet you a lot of people who hear it think it sounds like a cool, great thing to do. When a metal band sings about devouring a foetus, it's much less likely to be actually done by someone who listens to it, isn't it.

Youre gonna tell me rock music doesnt contain misogynystic behavior towards women and lyrics about using drugs? Wow. regardless of music taste, teens are gonna get high and wanna fuck, just how it goes. so if rap goes away, all the drug use and objectifying women is gonna go away? hogwash
RNRDOLL 4 years ago
I didn't mention rock music, it's always metal under the pump isn't it. This music here is hard rock and I agree with you that it does contain the same themes. My point is that today, for every hundred rap teens carrying guns, there are hardly any long haired denim-clad goons doing the same. I'm sure back in the day there would have been heaps, but not anymore.
RottenToTheGore 4 years ago
no rock music in general is always under fire.
RNRDOLL 4 years ago

RottenToTheGore 4 years ago
Well australia was the place where they sent fugitives many years ago! :) But thats a poor represntation of all rap listeners still. There are millions and millions of others, are they packin guns too?
RNRDOLL 4 years ago
I know what you're saying, and it would be terribly naive of me to think all rap listeners are criminals, I know they aren't. I'm saying that around here, of all the people I know who ARE criminals, do drugs, are in gangs etc, most listen to rap. I can only come to one conclusion from that, they are stupid and the explicit lyrics in some rap influences them. And the only people who would be descendants from convicts in Australia are all imbred farmers. Hahaha.
RottenToTheGore 4 years ago
haha yeah. But I hear ya man its like if youre in a confined area and thats all you see, of course youre gonna think that way, likewise for a black kid you know. There are alot of kids who think those lyrics are the way to do things and the artist isnt to blame really, they just write about their life. Its always the fans that ruin it
RNRDOLL 4 years ago
Definitely. From going to metal shows for at least 7 years, the stupidest human actions I've ever seen have been at metal shows.

My question is why? Maybe rock artists should flash tits, ass, cars, & money in front of the screen every chance they get!! Not saying they don't do it, but not even close to the same degree.
