  • What a bunch of idiots! Like this video proves anything. Are both machines stock? Is one rider 100 lbs heavier than the other? Is one machine miled out while the other is just nicely broken in? I own a Ski-Doo and live in Canada so no, I am not partial in any way to Yamaha. Only ever owned one Yamaha and it was a pile of crap. If Honda made sleds that would be the only one I would own.

  • @nightmaremika A more friendly motor? My friend Rotax is not Canadian, more like Austrian. No one has a better economic engine than Rotax with their E-TECS. Plus a Rotax 800R E-TEC has 163.9 hp while a Nytro

    has 130 hp. Not to mention how much lighter the 2- stroke chassis is.

  • You do realize that the nytro is considered a 600. I know its actually 1049cc but its a 4 stroke and is considered a 600. The Ski Doo in the video was an 800. So no Ski Doo doesn't own Yamaha is every category when stock.

  • if you look at it that way, yamaha must be fuckin cowards to have like 15hp and 450cc more than other snowmobiles in their on class to keep up ;) besides, rev chassie came in 2003, that nytro is from 08... hm! and i'm a witness to summit 600xp climbing higher than a nytro, both 2008mods! probably the weight since there are more power in the 1050cc 4-stroke, than a 595cc 2stroke.

  • The new 600s in the xp chassis are 130 hp. So the Nytro and 600 xp would be a good comparison. What model nytro was it? I'm sure weight had a little to do with it, but I wonder what track the nytro had.

  • both was 08 as i said, and the new 600 xp engines got 85kw, thats 115,6hp against 130... nytro got new 51mm fingertrack and ski-doo had the standard 57,2mm track, off course that also has something to say...

  • what 600 motor did the Ski Doo have? If it was the 600 Etec it had about 125 hp. All I'm saying is Ski Doo doesn't own Yamaha. IMO they are by far the best two snowmobile manufactuers right now. A good comparison would be the Ski Doo 4 stroke which I think also makes 130hp against a nytro. They are similar in weight and horsepower.

  • True. All I was trying to say with my earlier comments is that the video is comparing a 600 class sled with an 800. A better comparison would be a 600 vs 600 or better yet compare the ski doo 4 stroke with the Nytro.

  • the nytro was built to compete in sno-x so they made a rule that a 4 stroke could be under 1050cc, and only have 3 cylinders, so they developed the nytro, 2 stroke sno-x sleds are 600's, so therefore the nytro is SUPPOSED to be a 600 in 2 stroke terms, its really closer to a 700, my mtx is right with an F7 up to 70mph

  • One of my boyfriend has to jump 2 times its engine-fx nitro rtx and me with my summit 800 r I went to 15 and 000 kilometers above nothing yet. yamaha for me its the big shit, I just purchased the 1200 summit has left me just having snow but I keep my other ... tk in everyone's taste ..

    can get a brand new dropin 800 power tech for $2200 just add your old hoses carbs clutch and electronics....good luck with your 4 stroke ..when you do have trouble (and you eventually will they arn't as rock solid as the hype has you believe), 2k will get it taken apart for you...think i already mentioned 4 major problems with them i know of in this area out of about 20 4 stroke sleds....one was a failed crank...can you say "new lawn ornament"

  • heres a little fact for you alittlecountry..a 4 stroke is over 2k more than a 2 stroke...so much for your cost of ownership theory...2 k is a lot of years riding injection oil(and 4 strokes require $120 annual oil changes besides)

    here's another.. some 2 strokes get better mileage than 4 strokes...so much for outdated..

    heres another fact.. any two stroke with the same displacement STOMPS a 4 stroke and guess what.... you can STILL turbo it...

  • Also one thing that determines a race more than anything on a hill is the line chosen. To truly compare machines they did the same conditions and rider. I see a lot more revs for sale then nytro's in the classifieds FACT:)

A torbo'ed anything will beat a stock anything. Turbo 4 strokes do last longer than turbo 2 strokes FACT.2 strokes are lighter FACT. Who really cares as long as you have a machine YOU LIKE FACT!!!!
