  • i can use it for -fake- tatto, right? but i dont know what ink i can use =(

  • the air compessor does not have a tank ...it is a on demand compressor when u need air it kicks on and only runs to u get the pessure u set and then it stop

  • @xRonnilicious I'm pretty sure that you can only do this with Copic Sketch markers (there are three different kinds). I really appreciated this video. Thanks for posting.

  • great video, I always wanted to see how this works and was happy to find your video. I'm going to look at prices for air compressors in my area.

  • Thank you for this video, I bought a Harbor Freight Compressor and wasn't quite sure how to hook it up. You solved that for me and I appreciate it!! I love Copics and am looking forward to using the airbrush system. Thank you again!!

  • fucking expensive...

  • Wow thank you miss. I want to get started airbrushing.

Can you put sharpies into the airbrush? Or what specific markers work?

    Please reply, thankyou

  • For the price of copic pens/markers and the copic airbrush system you could have bought a quality Iwata airbrush and water colors to achieve the same thing.

Copic are for rich people that like to buy imported junk.

6$ bottle of water color last all year, 6$ copic last a day in an airbrush system.

  • is there an advantage to using this markers/system versus an actual airbrush?

  • @TheRocketSilo The copic markers are a different medium from airbrush paints and it really depends on what you are coloring. . Copics are primarily for people who work on paper - cards, scrapbook, manga, etc. If you want to do t-shirts, etc, a standard airbrush and paint would be the better choice. Since I am a papercrafter and already had the markers, this system allowed me to get an airbrush look with materials I already had.

  • @nkirk100 ok ,I see ,thanks

  • Can you tell me where you got this compressor? You said your local hardware store, but I am having a hard time finding this in my area. Thank you.

  • @Missyhmakr

I purchased the compressor at my local Harbor Freight store. If there is one in your area, make sure you look for their 20% off coupons. They have a coupon in our Sunday paper every week.

  • @nkirk100 Thank you so much! We have a Harbor Freight and I went and picked up my compressor yesterday! It was 59.99 and then I had the 20% coupon you spoke of! Thank you! One question: Does it seem to run all the time?

  • @Missyhmakr

Yes, the tank is small, as you use the airbrush it uses the air in the tank, so the motor has to kick back on to replace the air was used. After you are done with your compressor, turn it off and release all the air that is left in the tank. There is a small release button that you press to do this (check the manual for the location). You want to release all the leftover air because if you don't it can cause condensation in the tank and ruin the inside of it.

  • Does airbrushing decrease the life of the marker quicker? Does it dry out the nib quick?

  • @shoujoluvr707

I have not found this to be the case. I did hear that airbrushing actually uses less ink than you would have if you had colored the area the regular way.

  • how do u mask something thats not a stamp?

  • @TheEnchantedBanana

If you want to mask off part of your project you can use a masking fluid foraund at many arit and craft stores.

  • @nkirk100 thank you :)

  • Thanks for the quick answer. I've got the Copics starter kit (the ABS2) so I already have the marker holder. I bought a light-duty compressor (max to 100 PSI) and my neighbor (quite the inventive fellow when it comes to finding ways to put things together!) is going to try to set it up for me without their adapter. We shall see!! Thanks again -

  • I bought a small compressor today but do not have the adapter that goes between the hose and the Copic marker holder. Why do I need the adapter? If I buy one, will it last indefinitely or does it have to be replaced like the cans of air?

  • @bravesfanLinda

The adapter is a small piece that allows the hose to connect to the marker holder. On mine it is a small brass thing that screws onto the hose. This then marries the hose with the screw on the bottom of the copic holder. It will not have to be replaced!

  • i just bought a 30 psi one and its too weak for my airbrush

  • Yes, 30 psi may just be insufficient for airbrushing. Mine maxes out at about 53 psi and works fine.

  • yeah and i let it run for a little than i turn it off and it doesnt hold the air

  • I leave the compressor on while I am crafting. The motor runs while the tank is filling with air. Once the tank is full the motor shuts off, then as you use the airbrush the motor kicks back on the keep the tank full of air.

  • Thank you. That was fantastic!

  • Great video. Thanks!

  • Thanks for showing this. I have never seen it demoed.

  • Thank you for this great video!! I looked online

and a few air compressors look like the one

you purchased. Did you buy the 40 or 100psi?

  • The compressor I purchased has a max psi of 53. Copic recommends between 40 - 50 psi for their airbrush system.

  • great video! Do you think it would work with another marker, such as Letraset's Pantone set?

  • I've not used other markers - I think thi airbrush holder was specifically made to hold copic markers - is was developed by the copic people. If the Letraset Pantones are the same shape and size of copics, they work.
