  • The Child is Father of the Man... William Wordsworth

  • Those in that tiny red dot does not enjoys life

  • We make choices in life; the little daily choices comprise our character. Do we know who we are?

  • voix vibrante et émouvante !

  • This is what it would sound like if life was a song.

  • I first heard this album on the NPR Hearts in Space program circa 1995 -- I had to rush out and buy it immediately.

  • This song is for a fellow dancer. RIP Jeniviva Mia :(

  • This song means so much to one devoid really of much. If only life was so simple. Lisa's voice transcends the usual world and enters the much preferred unusual. Merci Brendan.Merci Lisa.

  • amazing! i first heard this on the west wing ep. 7a wf 83429. moving, touching, what music should be!

  • Is she requested for movie soundtracks, or does she do the songs, and then they're used? See that she appears all over!

Though, did a HQ upload of her song "Sacrifice" - thought i deserved better. You'll find it at my channel. ;-)

  • It was played at the end of a West Wing Episode (season 5)~

  • Was this in a movie? Hannibal maybe?

  • someone that i love dearly has taken their life just yesterday. so much pain.

  • depp and emotions

  • I confessed. I don't know good from evil. And I want to be good.

  • Lisa , can really deliver it to the soul! Many say she has the voice of an angel, but I don't agree,,she has the voice of a saint! I love you Lisa from dead can Dance!

  • Really beautiful, but I just have listening Sarah Brightman version live in Vienna and I like it very much its so incredible her voice

  • Jak tego słucham, to mam całe swoje życie przed oczami - niespełnione marzenia, rozczarowanie i gdzieś na samym dnie serca odrobinkę nadziei na lepsze...

  • im sick of reading these pseudo-profound paragraph long comments of drivel on music videos and seeing them being thumbed up by dumb kids to justify their own watching of the video, as if they empathise with the fiction.

  • @volound

woah some ones mr gumpy ;)

Im not going to say anything 'profound' (or even pseudo 'profound') but I do want this played at a funeral

  • wwwDOTthewarningsecondcomingDOTcom

  • Is this the official video by Lisa? or fan made? I wonder where the footage was taken from.... love Lisa and DCD.

  • I luv you Lisa in eternity

  • @pearl6570 The biggest threat to parental rights is me not being there with a shotgun handy.

When I see a video like this one it makes me want to do anything to protect families and fight the evil monsters in high places.

  • You dont try to explain this music, you feel it if u dont than cant help or explain her music to u

  • Conmovedora!!! es difícil expresar lo que hace sentir.....

  • Piękne...:)

  • To absent friends.

  • vorrei sapere chi sono quei 76 ignoranti che hanno messo non mi piace ._.

  • To convey a lifetime of emotion in the lasting of a song...that`s as close to a miracle any of us will ever get...and it also is the best one could ask for...and should be enough to make us believe there is a God, and a purpose for everything....or such a voice could never be...

  • This song gave me goosebumps, incredibly beautiful.

  • Contemplating my life last evening, while this was playing, I looked without prejudice at what I've achieved and where I've failed. The first list was pretty brief, the second somewhat longer. But can I go back and change anything? Can't. But then I realized, everything is always in the present moment. Whether I'm thinking about the past, or participating in the now, doing. Every memory was achieved in the present moment, 40 years ago, yesterday, and my remembering, is always where I am, now.

  • @jjzanoni

Lately i have looked over my life at what i have done and what i have failed to do

For all that i did do it has never been enough for all the things i failed to do

The guilt of this has weighed me down ever since.

I pray that before i die i can redress this balance.

    Why ?

When i die i will see my Father and i will have to ask him

'Have i done enough to enter the next life, to be at peace, to be free'

Just now i fear his answer

  • @TheFedAgt the past of every man is full of dark shames. We can loosen their hold on us though if we start right now, were we are, to do good. We can erase our dark karmas by overwhelming them with acts of kindness and love. Like I wrote above, we can't go back and change what was done in a previous present moment, but right now, you're reading this, and tomorrow, you'll look back at a different you, one who praises rather then scolds, loves, rather than remain silent.

  • @jjzanoni what a beautiful write up...thank you!

  • Don't look back, trust in God and do not afraid to go on with anything you are doing now ...

  • @Qry0 i lost my god.. no meaning in my life right now...

  • @dartmhk

Be glad that you have the opportunity to find meaning here, in this life, rather than placing it off beyond death or out in some supernatural being.

God makes life simple, which is comfortable since it answers most of your questions for you; but it's so much richer and deep when you face it just as it shows itself to you, without the conceptual baggage.

  • @Qry0 Thanks. I needed to be reminded more than I knew. I just gave notice at my job and I am moving and getting married. I've been scared to give up control to the unknown and just have faith that I can handle come what may!

  • beautiful look into our past! regret! love! it is all there!

    brava!

  • Lissa Gerrard, is fantastic...

  • Lisa Gerrards voice played in hell would turn it into heaven, thats how phenomenal she is. I just think shes amazing to listen to, if i could take one thing with me when i die itle be the sound of her voice. When she sings the vocals in the song named, The end, omg!

  • @CarpMagic95 : i like your idea that her voice in hell would make it heaven...and I agree. Three things have been incredibly important to me in my life. One was a person, one was a means of exploration, and the third has been Lisa's music. The World would be a far, far poorer place without it.

  • Got to see this done live during the last DCD tour (for "Spiritchaser"). Possibly the finest vocal performance I've ever heard live (out of literally thousands of shows). Years ago, and still vivid in my memory...

  • What a noble Voice! And the Videoclip is also wonderful work!

  • Why so saaaad.

  • stunningly beautiful

  • Stunningly beautiful

  • once heard a fantastic trance mix of this in 1993 b paul oakenfold on radio one,had it recorded but lost the tape, cant forgive meeself.

  • oh this is just amazingly beautiful....

  • her voice is indescribable!!! it is so so deep - goes beyond the soul - beyond heaven - it takes you to another place - an unkown place - this is definitely one of those songs/moments that has no words to describe!!...

  • Gänsehaut....schön......so viel Gefühl...macht mal die Augen zu..und hört...fühlt Ihr es.

  • Me encanta esta cancion

  • Pleas god forgive me for all the bad things I've done you know better I'm lost and just worthless but may I please be granted to see the sun rise tomorrow?

  • Fuck its so calm but why does it make me cry?

  • WAUWW!!!!!

Some best made cry music love it

  • 71 dislikes r from rebecca black and justin fucker...

  • This song is wonderful, cant understand how this video is not liked.

  • AMAZING SONG! and perfectly complemented with nigel grierson's video.

  • I admit, when I was in high school I discovered Lisa Gerrard through Kazaa and would listen to this and 'Sacrifice' and 'Violina' and they would each just about bring me to tears every time. I am a 24 year old man now who mostly listens to extreme metal, but her timeless voice still gives me the shivers and moves me in ways few other artists ever could. What an amazing talent she is.

  • @matternicuss I know what you mean, I too like a wide range of music, but lately I listen to Lisa alot. PS I have the same first name :)

  • This is truly one the most beautiful songs ever made!

  • Very beautiful. I can't stop listening to her enchanting voice, and since I'm going through a hard time, it eases and heals me a little ;3 it reminds me of the good times i had with my friends, and never the bad and depressing times :)

  • @Thespiriticlan your right, her voice does have a healing/calming/centering quality to it. Love her :)

  • Lisa Gerrard, es definitivamente una de las mejores voces que he escuchado...

  • I discovered this singer from "The Mist". She is great !

  • i think, everybody see, what he like to see. for me she is mother, dying, sings for her children, because of she weary black and we see her under water...but, everybody see what he like to see. for me this is a really wonderful voice, a sadness song, i love this voice since gladiator. please forgive my bad english, typicall germann ;)

  • @TheCharlotte1969 I actually like the way you speak english :3 it's like my grandpapi's and my friends english

  • I'm shivering

  • …….( crying tears of deep, undefinable emotion ).……

  • wonderful !!

  • This is my first encounter with this beauty. Wonderful, to be honest, her voice reminds me a bit of Shakira's, such a gorgeous colour.

  • @Roxette97 a very full and deep voice, right? I find that it's quite fulfilling.

  • glad i/eye ate/8 her

  • that makes me very sad......dodo

  • There is really nothing to say, just listen and feel good.

  • This is so.. beautiful!

  • I walked down the aisle to this song...12 years ago...fell in love with it as soon as i heard it. It was the background music to an advert in the U.K, and i hunted it down via letters to t.v company etc. My children now love it too...Absolute heaven and still gives me goosebumps to this day!!

  • somehow so familiar this song

    from a movie perhaps...?

  • @Lapardi19 West Wing used it during season 5 after the president's daughter was kidnapped.

  • @cblodg1 yes of course!

    THANKS!!!

  • it never fails to amaze me the effect that this has on me, it touches something that communicates purely on a different level of emotion, she is not of this world.

  • I liked it when she was not that well known...

  • @FuyuhikOco A secret like her was too good to keep to ourselves. Something wonderful like this is meant to be shared. I am glad for her well deserved recognition and success.

  • This has always been my favourite Lisa Gerrad song. I can listen to thsi over and over. This song always moves me, no matter what mood I am in. If I am in a sad or somber mood, this song always gives me great comfort.

  • hategov, i myself like this song and artist a lot, but i don't see how anyone who dislikes a certain genre or a perticular song is classless. in my experience the one pointing the finger is usually the one that is being described, by thy own self.

  • Each time I hear this my eyes fill up with tears. It is so emotive it does not need words to express the feeling. So beautiful and nostalgic. It's like reminding the beautiful moments you lived along a dear long lost relative or friend.

  • it´s too sad... if one day the world is facing its end, the wind´d sound like this

  • I tear up each time I hear this masterpiece.

  • cosmos...

  • @rijoenpial exactly the same here

  • I so pressed "dislike" by mistake !! I wanted to see who disliked this beautiful video and song...

Does anyone know how to un-dislike? (like in FaceBook..lol)

    Thanks

  • lek dla sszarpanych dusz .....

  • Oh God always bless me with love!!

  • Lisa.... I kneel before your talent....

  • Lisa Rulezz!!!

  • I am extremely happy that I have grown up to this. I know of NOBODY else who likes Lisa, Brendan or Dead Can Dance below their twenties. It's odd being 14 and not having anyone to share such beautiful music with. My friends think this and other songs like Sacrifice and Ocean are "scary". Not many people actually feel the music they listen to, I guess. Anyways, Lisa is so amazing and if I could have half as good of a voice as hers, then I would be happy.

  • @squishyoprahtacohair Yes, you're in all probability left out from the mob, at your age with such sensitivity, goodness, what will your peers make of you? Don't give a damn. Your sensitivity is inborn, makes you what you are. That's how I was when I was your age. It's a bloody lonely journey, but there are others like you. Don't be afraid to be yourself, that's really going against the tide of general stupidity that lives only by reflection. You'll find some similars sooner or later.

  • @squishyoprahtacohair I started listening to DCD when my goth-eccentric friend gave me a compilation with them on it when I was 19 (we do exist but we're rare lol)... they were the only ones who truly stood out... I'm pretty sure Lisa is an angel and Brendan is a shaman

  • @squishyoprahtacohair Ahh, I know exactly how you feel!!! I've listened to music like this for years, and no one feels it, embraces it or shares any connection to it. No one really likes my kind of music, but how can you not like this? This is mesmerizing and breathtaking and it makes my imagination run wild! I can never share music with anyone but my one brother, but he`s never around anymore and he has a kid now, but I guess it was because we were so much alike.

  • @squishyoprahtacohair

hahaha, my child is now 8 years old and LOVES specially this song and that´s why I searched for the video.

In fact DCD is the perfect music for falling asleep at night, I really cannot understand how can someone may think is creepy but heavenly :D

  • I love these songgg..

  • speachless....

  • magica vos bellisima musica que hace palpitar el alma y la despierta pro segundos

  • VERY few videos have 98% like ratios

  • Beautiful... Hermoso

  • Can you feel the love? Can you feel the absolute power? no class warfare, no strife, no decay, there is pure absolution for your sacrifice. Believe in the joy within, give light to it and let it show you the way home.

  • Whats with this 64 people?

  • @rr68able You're delusional, ignorant and highly naive if you deny that Lady Gaga has a great singing voice. Have you not heard her live performances?

  • @rr68able

73 people may like Lady Gaga but it is humanly possible to like both artists. To categorise and generalise is petty.

  • @rr68able you sound like my history teacher, she always goes "PUT YOUR HAND DOWN YOU FOOL!!!!" :D

  • @rr68able Well, apparently some people just have different taste in music (or NO taste, LOL). How can you even compare Lisa Gerrard with Lady Gaga? It's like trying to compare: eating top shelf caviar, to having cancer of the rectum. 1 is delightful & delicious, while the other is painful, miserable & potentially deadly if left untreated (like listening to Gaga) Hmmm....on 2nd though, I guess you can make a comparison. LOL. IMO, mine is spot on.

  • @gjc82071

yup, you definitely don't know what good music tastes like.

  • This Music brings out my inner feeling of peace, honesty, harmony, oneness with nature and the universe; and leaves me wanting to live far away from this corrupt, and shallow world, and more in a natural lifestyle.

  • Wonderful

  • OMFG I AM SOOOOOO SORRY LISA I DID NOT MEAN TO HIT THE DISLIKE BUTTON YOU ARE A MASTERPIECE I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY THERE IS A DISLIKE BUTTON, YOU TAKE MY BODY AROUND THE WORLD WITH ME JUST SITTING IN ONE SPOT ALONG WITH OTHERS AMAZING!

  • Without fail every time i hear this it makes be cry

  • It's strange; Lisa's music seems to be mega-solemne,mega-pompous and mega-monumental, but one cannot sense the slightest shadow of kitsch, cheapness and pretentiousness in it.

  • so sad!

  • can anyone tell me what kind of music is this???

  • where I can find the lyrics?

  • where I can find the lyrics?

  • Gives me goosebumps!

  • Jesus, this is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. How can anyone NOT like this? It reaches down inside and grabs your soul . . . unless you don't have one.

  • HMMMMM ,, O am i still her ????

  • this was what my partner used to play to me

    no longer with us

    shed a tear

    beautifull

  • Where are those images taken from?

  • 62 dislikes go fly a kite and get a life.

  • In the army there was a friend...

We shared a moment and it was everything...

    But the end was cruel...

We had a fight and never spoke again....... 1 year away;P

Wherever he might be i pray that God will always keep him safe;) Friendship is the true love!!

  • @thrainful Ehm, LOVE is the true love. Friendship is platonic.

  • Lisa Gerrard's voice' the pictures and music.........Perfection

  • Im from holland so i like HARDCORE best and anyting thats faster then 180bpm.

BUT THIS IS AMAZING!!!! The melody of her voice and the music SICK. If searchd al kind of tube's or site's to find this piece of music. In NEDERLAND is it placet behind a comurciel for the green en tree's. you know places voor animals to live.

  • I remember when I lost someone, the loss was overwhelming, the tears, the loneliness, but, I know now, if you can, remember faith, you will never be alone, never be alone, never

  • @mo9504 Thank You for support. Thank You for greetings. I've almost understood it, but sometimes the faith becomes weaker. Have a nice year!

  • @mo9504 That is because they like nothing but shitty music, and they are probably a bit too young and stupid

to appreciate this kind of music.

  • Still looking for real friends. Is it possible to find them at 28? Wish everyone Happy New Year and Merry Christmas. This song raise me up. What a power! What a spirit! It deserves to be heard in heaven. Bravo, Lisa! God Bless Ya. Greetings from Ukraine!

  • @apeetantrum God Bless you Friend, Merry Christmas and a wonderful New year, keep the faith, ask you shall receive, be well, remember, everyday can be wonderful if you allow it, your not alone

  • @apeetantrum it is really hard to find good friends now a days. Keep being positive. Peace from toronto

  • @apeetantrum never give up

  • Thumbs up that this comment list isn't full of trolls like one would find on other vids. I guess there is hope for us as a society

  • I am glad that I'm not the only way I think :) this song charmed me, I have to listen to this song...

  • When I first heard this many years ago on NPR I thought it was a countertenor voice, then tJohn DiLiberto on the radio program Echoes said it was Lisa singing. It's always amazing to hear this!

  • This is a mysteriously beautiful song with a lovely video to accompany it. Her voice is amazing. Thanks.

  • I first heard this song on a goa mix of Paul Oakenfold. I normally don't listen to this kind of music, but this song is really the most beautiful song I ever heard. It has something magic which i cannot describe...

  • Oh my God. I have never heard anything this amazing and beautiful. Her voice can't possibly be human!

  • wspaniała wokalistka i cudowny głos

  • I love Lisa!!!! Your amazing! This song is one of my favorites :)

  • I cant believe there are 61 dislikes for this. Classless people.

  • @HATEGOV :( Sad but true...

  • @HATEGOV perhaps when thety read about how Lisa Gerrard cured herself from a medical condition through fate they may change their mind, research Lisa Gerrad

    ....

  • @HATEGOV Well, just because someone doesn't like her music doesn't necessarily mean they don't have class. There is an ocean of difference between saying she is just not your cup of tea and calling her a talentless hack (and I am sure some people have thoughtlessly done the latter).

  • @HATEGOV Don't be worried, it can be even worse. I drove car with a friend who told: "Switch out this shit", when Lisa was singing this very song. Yes, it's possible.

  • @robokopo had I such a friend I'd have told him to get out of my car ];>

  • @HATEGOV ... some people are hear - disabled, no worries. she's gorgious!
