Found this via Da Vinci's Notebook and their parody "The Gates" (as seen on the Drew Carey Show). We find awesome in this world in the strangest ways... ;)
@lynnkeefe, actually the proper way to put on a guitar strap is how it's comfortable for the player. Kinda common sense if you think about it. This is coming from a 20 year gigging musician.
As much as I dislike bluegrass and nothing but techno/hardcore music, this song is just something I love! I could listen to it forever! The story is sooooo great and cute. :3
my brothers and i used to sing this song on our uncle's farm out in newfoundland. we would hurd his sheep from the valleys up into the highlands during the summer for sometimes weeks at a time
@lynnkeefe Actually, the proper way of putting a guitar strap on is to have it so it's at the same level it would be if the you were sitting. And depending on the height of the guitarist, that could be somewhere stomach level. Sorry for this boring comment, but your ignorance called for it.
@wingedsniper I hear you...so, so loud and clear. It's not the same without them. I am going to curl up in the fetal position now, and think about The Who and pancakes.
Absolutely incredible musicians! Anyone who doesn't appreciate the talent here has 'wet wood'. Come back to us Nickel Creek! You're all great separate, but BEST together!
This proves that you can play all the "way out" original songs you want to, but do a good old foot stomper like this one and the audience is yours. Great arrangement. Can't sit still on this one. Gotta hear it again.
Great cover! My mom used to sing this to me as a little girl! A favorite!

I'm pretty sure the concept for The Fantastic Mr. Fox story was derived from this song.
