  • Very ahead of it;s time seeing that it was written almost 40 years ago. but I think it is streotypical , because the message I got was it is allright to be "queer" as long as you pay for it in the end, Ritchie paid for it by ruining the lives of 3 men....it's what they used to do to Gansters in the movies in the 30's. they had to pay in the end....

  • just watched this. i am a huge Altman fan, even if I don't like some works as much as others. but this was something special. this belongs in the Glengarry Glenross hall of great play-to-film adaptations. had no problem with the ending, i appreciated the darkness of Dzunda's character being more or less how he was when we first see him, only blissfully unaware of why his partner in slaphappiness is not there to prop him up. Michael Wright is awesome (more This Boys LIfe than Raging Bull though).

  • nice movie, hate the ending though.

  • This is one of THE most intense movies Ive ever seen. As far as Im concerned, the performance by Michael Wright is right up there with DeNiro in Raging Bull. I think there are alot of people who have never seen this who would love it if they did, its very underrated and one of Altman's altime best. If youve never seen it, WATCH IT! (its on IFC this month too)

  • @cinemavirtualis I agree with everything you said, I just saw it a few days ago and I think it's one of the most underrated films of all time, definitely Altman's best film of the 80's.

  • Good ending???

  • worthy?

  • Yes absolutely
