Wow dude, with both shot put and discus you go some really explosive and fast movement with your arm at the very last moment! What kind of reps do you do with weight training?
It depends on what time of the year it is. I just finished three weeks of 2 sets of 20 reps I'm now into 2 sets of 12. But I have a fast arm on it's own.
I've seen that sort of left arm motion on videos of John Powell so that may be your intended way of throwing, but it looks to me like you could get a lot more out of your block arm
