kinda hard to say what their roots are, every album is very different. to even compare Here Comes The Indian and Sung Tongs seems ridiculous. They have a few musical threads that run throughout most of their albums. a psych mixture of noise/melody, madman vocals, childish lyrics, jangly guitars, and just recently they've put heavy reverb and used electric guitars.

The new stuff I've heard from The AC seems to have the dub aspect turned up a notch or two. Peace Bone, People, Safer Avey Tare and Kria Brekkan are putting out an album very soon, so is Panda Bear. AC are the kids at the crest.
