  • This video is old, but right on. I had different iPod dock, but these instructions worked perfectly.

  • Now remove screws from stearing wheel and remove stearing wheel. now remove engine and brakes. you are now set to rock on as your ex screams for help.

  • you got a shitty taste in music lol

  • does anyone know why this stays on while the car is off? It has been draining my car battery.

  • "Now let's rock out as we re-assemble." Haha. (Insert terribly random generic heavy sounding music!)

  • or take it to a professional in a cost of 10 bucks

  • Awwwww. I thought it said "How to install an iPod in an acorn"...

  • blitzsafe is better

  • i just installed a different product on my accord today. It wast hard at all, so whats up with all the comments about "poor car" and "wtf is he doing?" or "i wouldnt do that to an accord if i had one"

I wanted to listen to my ipod and not top 40 bullshit. Its easy to do and pays off. FM radios sucks!

  • wow wtf man poor car

  • where do i get the ice link thingy? i have an 03 accord coupe. sOMEONE TELL ME PLEEASEEE and thanks...

  • wtf is he doing

  • @alcoholicmr installing an ipod adapter lol

  • @MarioLoco03

does it take that much work daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn

  • @alcoholicmr i put a blitzsafe in my accord yesterday, it too like 20minutes to the the pannels off, plug in the adapter and put it back. Its not hard dude. Trust me...im so glad i dont have to listen to the god damned radio and the same cds over and over. Its worth the 20 mintues and it sounds clear. FM transmitters suck balls. Ill never use those crappy things again.

  • @MarioLoco03

oh well im no good at that thing hes doing so im just gona pay somone to do it for me

  • @alcoholicmr i dont know why this guy removed the battery though. i didnt do that.

  • @MarioLoco03 hey, im trying to get this done for my accord. where did you buy your blitzsafe?

  • I did this then I got a problem. I have a fast clicking sound when I turn the key to turn the engine on. I took a video of it and it is on my account. Take a look if you have time.

  • thanks!! this is very helpful!! my cds are stuck in my 6 cd disc changer and it would cost me $150 to get them out...that's just to get them out and not to fix the cd player. crazy!!

  • Thanks!

  • awesome thanks!! I was gonna get a guy to do this for me so I can "rock out", but this video was so thorough I think I'll do it myself!!!

  • great video just completed it!!! only took me an hour and 1\2.......awesome!!!!!

  • Cool video! Very instructional. I am trying to figure out how to install an aftermarket stereo into the accessory compartment O_o what a day.

  • Or you can buy an I-pod Adapter for $20

  • @666skateinhell666 And have really crappy sound, including feedback. This method provides far better sound.

  • @666skateinhell666 where can you get one that cheap? i've been trying to find one

  • Altho its sounds easy - Id rather look for a car mechanic shop that can do this just as professionally as here. Maybe Ill get ambitious and try it out. Maybe NOT!

  • I have a Pioneer CD-IB100 Ipod adapter, is it at all posible for me to install it to my 04 Accord Coupe?

  • is the input into the ipod specific for the ipod? like, is it just an aux cable or the larger kind that you charge an ipod with because I want to do this but with my blackberry storm, so i just need an aux output ....

  • quick question to anyone who has purchased this ice link component.. is it possible to connect a normal aux instead of the ipod dock thing? and are u still able to use the steering wheel buttons?

  • Hi guys, I got excited and I ordered the Dension link. It was available only on Ebay.

Ok, I got a little disappointed because the docking cable comes as a docking station instead of a cable and I don't a station, I want a simple ipod cable.

In the video, you had a cable but I received a docking station. I think you should have shown in the video the changes you made about the cable.

Ok so please help me out:

How do I turn that docking station into a docking cable?

    Thank you

  • I have an '06 accord and am not sure if this one gonna work..?

  • hey guys i have a 05 accord lx which doesnt have a 6 disc changer or the xm radio. so what will i need to be able to play my ipod in the car? please help... thank you

  • go my accord ask for the code ? but i dont know what is the code? can you help me please?

  • read through your manual for the code, it's usually there...just read it front to back, and again if neccesary, and you'll find it eventually.

  • Though it took you about 5 or so minutes, I want to do it with the BLITZsafe connector, thanks for the reference video though!!

  • iphone 3gs gonna work wud this it's can receive calll toooo

  • thnx dude i can joint my music

  • or get an adapter and it sends an fm transmiter it plugs in a charger and you just set it to a frequency

  • The quality isn't as good

  • i have it its so much easier :D

  • hey i have a question i do have a 04 honda accord but with no xm button how to i do to install an ipod cable to it

  • Hello, sorry to bother but i just wanted to ask you if the ice link you used on this video is compatible with the honda accord 05??

Is it the same process for installing on a automatic transmission??

    Thanks

  • Thanks for making this video! It was awesome. My son used it to install my ipod connection and everything went smoothly, quickly and the sound of my system is AWESOME.

  • Great tutorial! Just tried this myself and everything worked perfectly. This is much less complicated than following the paper instructions and black and white drawings.

  • now where did u get the wire harness??

  • Hey can anyone who actually installed the aux cable tell me if the sound quality is just as good as the cd player?

  • I was skeptical at first about one, installing this type of installation and two, installing it myself. I actually bought my adapter from Crutchfield because they provide a plug and play connection. Mannn!!! The install was relatively simple. The sound quality is fantastic! Sounds really good thru the car speakers. No whining, no hissing. Just pure digital sound. Crutchfield also supplies instructions with photos to help you. Along with this video, you should be able to do it yourself.

  • yes it is!

  • i have the same mirror

  • as a complete novice it took me 15 mins to install with this video. Great post

  • I have an '06 accord ex coupe....no navi, no xm...will this still work for me? and is this icelink still available in stores or should i look for another cable? thanks in advance for any help!

  • its 2005 accord lx with a single cd disk and my cd disk is not working , is that the problem .

  • i installed the same thing in my 05 accord and mine sometimes does not recognize the device nothing happens by pressing the auxiliary buttons but when i unplug it from the back of the radio and plug it back in it works fine, anyone knows what is causing the radio not to recognize the device some times ?

  • i have 2005 accord LX which only has the basic single cd player , anyone knows, will this thing work if i install it in my single cd player.

  • it will.

  • that was a very useful tip thanks alot!!!!!

  • guys save your self from this instead of buying the ipod thing and doing all that disassembly but a head unit for $70 bucks with a ipod jack

  • can't. the factory head unit controls the air conditioning in the car.

  • Shows how much you know

  • I agree. It is cheaper and you get a better deal to just buy a new cheap head unit that has the ipod interphase already built in. You get the ipod adapter and better sound quality all in one.

  • Would this work with honda civic?

  • would this work for a honda accord LX ?..which doesn't have a cd changer installed

  • Comment removed

  • hey guys if anyone knows how to connect a new deck to this honda accord please let me know, i just bought a deck beacuse my factory cd changer stopped working due to an error..i am installing the new deck in that storage compartment but how do i connect the wires so that i can stil use the climate controls, please help me!!! private msg me if u can help =)

  • oh! I thought his i-pod got stuck in that little box.

  • you are a superhuman!! you know everything

  • Dam I just wish car stereos had a "Stereo In" jack on the FRONT of them... Why doesn't anyone do that? That would only require u to get a two-way stereo jack and plug one end into the iPod and one end into the car without fiddling with screws!

  • I don't think this this gonna work for my '89 accord.. Glad I changed out the deck ;)

  • could this void your warrenty?

  • i think so

  • Ok, Thanks

  • oh yeah! Any modifications to the car will void most warranties.

  • oh yeah, no duhh sorry! guess I was just being stupid that sirtain day! lol. thanks! =D

  • it's all good! I'm stupid most days lol.

  • lol, thanks for the support!!

  • lol, thats not what i meant, but oh well.

  • I said that so I wouldn't be alone.. oh well

  • what if my car has built in navigation?

I don't see the same cable harness as you

  • wow...i have the same car i will try it

  • ainda bem que hoje em dia existe uma sincronização entre aparelhos mp3 e os carros, pq fazer isso tudo ae eh osso mAUamh

    mas parabens pelo trabalho

  • i cant find the ice link either. i found a "Dension Ice Link Plus iPod Adapter 120-Sony" on ebay, but im pretty sure i need another adaptor for the r3 honda...i dunno, does anyone know where i can get the ice link needed?

  • just get a FM transmitter

  • this is way too much work just get a External MP3 player that plays into a cigarette lighter. :)

  • Hey I was wondering if anyone can tell me from where I can get the ice-link cuz I can't find it anywhere!

  • i done it its cool

  • Do you think i could fallow this set up for my 2004 TSX w/o navigation? Looking at the setup of what yo did here, it looks similar to the TSX interior. just wondering if you knew if they were similar in set up so i could do this. thanks

  • NICE VID! click goes the subscribe button.

lol sounds like fake sound fx when disassembling.

  • how about you get an auxilary cable that fits into a head phone jack and wire the RCA cables to the back of the head unit

  • This video just saved me about $50 (amount bestbuy was charging), I'm a pretty handy guy and after seeing your video I was able to install my IPOD adaptor. Thanks

  • yeah no offence but it you want a better quality... and instead of worring about your battery power on your ipod... you can listen to ur ipod for days wid out worry bout ipod battery....

  • silly way to do it pffffff! sillyyyyyyy !

  • maybe when you get older...and honda has a code for their stereo system so in case you're old enough to buy one don't lose the code... XD

  • y cant u just buy the thing that goes into the car charger slot that connects to ur ipod...only liek 80 dollars

  • wtf o.o u don't need to do all that!! theres a WAAAAAAAAAAAY simpiler way. theres this thing u can buy, doesn't cost much, which is a tape player with a wire coming out of it with a connection to ur ipod. connect it to ur ipod, then put the tape into the tape player and boom, ipod on ANY car.

  • Most cars built this century (including the car in the video, which i'm guessing is an 03) don't have tape decks, and FM transmitters crackle a lot.

  • oh, ok.

  • whiteboy 447 i know exatly what your talking about i got that extra radio in there for my ipod and shit and it looks stupid. wish i would of known about this last year fuckin best buy charged me 600 for a new radio steering controls for it and all the harnesses and shit i got screwed

  • What was that song you were playing in the car called and what artist is it by?

  • Awesome video, worked for me. Thanks a ton!!

  • Nice job documenting all the steps of your install; it helped me with a hidden install of my Garmin Nuvi GPS, which I also connected to the head unit for MP3 playback via the P.I.E. X3 interface.

Thanks for posting this, it saved me lots of time and aggravation trying to figure out how to access the stereo connections.

  • thats a great job very cool man

  • Dension ice-link plus is discontinued. what is an alternative connector adapter?

  • i have the same exact car. but i need to know two things before i order this ilink. Will this i link also work for my iphone, and why do i have to say bye to my xm to have this. issn't there a way to keep my XM too.

  • It says right in the video "It is possible to have XM and an AUX unit installed simultaneously with the use of Honda part #08A31-0F1-000. See your local Honda parts department."

  • Was this an '05 accord or does the year matter?

Where can I find an Ice link cable, I've looked in best buy and circuit city and can't seem to find it.

  • does this car have the in dash 6-cd changer?

  • Alpine Full Speed is the way to go.

  • It is ridiculous that cars don't come w/ cassette players as the cassette adapter works the best. And you can buy an adapter for a dollar.

  • No, its ridiculous that more cars dont come with an aux port for mp3 players. Cassette adapters blow.

  • wheres the fun in that

  • I agree with Danklin24, very few cars have such a jack to put it in.

  • Very Helpful! But, can you do this on other Hondas?(ie.Prelude,Civic etc.)

  • Perfect instructions.

I was trying to find out how to install a Handsfree kit. The connections are no problem but I did not know how to take the car to pieces.

    Brilliant video.

  • nice. i need that too but question, can you controll back and forth with your stearing wheel cd controll bottons?

  • Great job with the video. My sister has an Accord and keeps asking me to hook up her iPod to the factory radio. Thanks to you guys, this will now be an easy install.

  • 7) alot of people do not want there ipods to be seen and keep a factory look to they put this in and close the pocket so that you can not see the ipod yet you can still change the songs with the steering wheel controls or radio controls.

  • 5) as for taking apart a new car....please I don't even want to think about how many 07's i have taken apart in the last week. alot of people buy a car and don't want to pay out the ass for an option from the factory when it is half the price when bought aftermarket

    .

6)oh and putting in a new radio for an AUX input is much harder then that install. Takes me 20 mins to do this on an accord with a power drill.

  • 3) personally I would not have disconected the battery. Most people do not have the radio code (stupid honda/acura/chevy)

4)reason for not replaceing the radio in one of these is you either have to buy a $150 dash kit $20 wiring harness and you loose your dual climate conrtoll from what i have been told. If you want to go the cheap way in getting a new radio then you can buy a $20 dash kit but you loose the pocket under the radio and you still have a radio up top that does nothing. (stupid)

  • hey first off nice install you did a very good job and you were very safe about the hole install.

    wow people just wow

1)FM transmitters for the most part suck I work in as a car audio installer and I would say that 80% of the people who buy them return them. It all depends on the car and the FM transmitter you buy the closer it is to the radio or ant. the better it is but in my opinion they suck.

    2) that will only work on an accord from the year of 02-06 IIRC.

  • why not just get an itrip... or if you're going to the effort just replace the head unit with one that has an aux input. soooo much easier

  • I prefer not to do this lol

  • I did this and my car wouldn't start afterward. Had to buy a new car battery. i dont know what happened...

  • dude... i fucked up my car doing that omg

  • so you can listen to your ipod in it

  • wow so confusing..

  • lol, crazy but there's an easier way

there is this tape that i got from sony and it has this cord that connects to the earphone jack of your ipod/cdplayer/tapeplayer/mdplayerr/etc...

you just attach it to your player and put in the tape in the car and you can play the music (control with your ipod/player)

i got it for like 9 bucks at costco 3 years ago o.0

  • yeah but new cars don't have tape players anymore, in general

  • plss more of this.

  • HONDA

  • fm transmitter devices are much easier to install :P

Can't hear any noise on the cheap-o device we bought.

  • can't you just buy an Itrip? i know lot of people ruin there cars because they try to "fix it or install" somthing. But still buy an I trip...it coast more but it takes 5 seconeds

  • but it sucks...too much static, u have to move it around and find a good spot so that there isnt static

  • true true

  • i hate how they make it impossible to acces the stereo in newer vehicles

  • i like the music

  • i dont

  • I have a '94 Accord, will this still work?

  • nice video. it only works on an Nissan Accord?

  • Great video.. Thinking about doing this to my accord... It should be the same procedure with an automatic right>

  • yeah but forget the cresent wrench part you just pry it out

  • Great job! I've got my iPod. Now I just need a Honda Accord...

  • hahaha same here xD

  • Can you control the music from the CD changer? or do you have to change it from Ipod.

  • good work man

  • lol i did that shit with my 91 cavaler lol it looks like a beater but that whore of mine is a sleeper

  • damn!

didn't know u could do that.

  • BORING

  • can you do it with an automatic?

  • more car repair videos i love those videos

  • Will this work on a Honda Accord LX? Do you have to have a CD changer in order to use this function?

  • thank you!
