Do you have to do maitenence on these? I'm thinking about buying one but I figured I might as well learn about them before I buy one so I don't mess anything up. We've had a fourtrax since I was like 8 but it's getting boring.

I just trail ride but I like to ride way harder than a utility can, I mean like alot of maitenance. My friend told me that on a 450 you have to change the oil after every 10 hours you run them and things like that, I'm talking like heavy maitenance is what I don't want.

na na i change my oil like once a month. and i clean my air filter every 5 ride's. but i don't ride all that often anymore. but stuff like changing the oil cleaning the oil and cleaning and lubing the chain should be done at least once a month or so. all deepending all how much you ride.

400exs dont use much as far as maintnence goes, but if you decide to get a faster, lighter, and simply better trx450r expect to change oil every 4 tanks if your all stock, more if you have a lot of aftermarket parts in your engine

You won't be disappointed with any of those brands you listed. I prefer HMF they have a very nice full system thats not overly expensive and has great power and sound.

you could also just modify to your type of ridding you can chhange the gear ratio and do a little engine tune to help ie. port polish even valves expecially on a new one. make a lot of difference.

if u have a 400 ex, and u are willing to get one year at most out of it and want to make it faster, throw some good holeshot tires or razr 2s and then put in some loud ass exaust like dual fmfs (i made some slight modifications to make dual exaust) and then if u plan on selling it and u just plan on seeing what it will do and u really have ballz, throw some NOS on it..

i got a honda trx250 and my dads friend was rideing it and crashed it insto the river and the water sat in the exhaust and cylinder for a week and nothing happened 2 it runs perfect ooo and does this ever happen to any1 ur transmission locks up and u have 2 move ur quad adn then it locks up or is that just mine

Hey mattchew911. My 400 ex tops out at a little over 70mph. Granted it does have a pipe headers and jets a bone stock one will probably do an even 68-70mph. All my modifications do is get me up to 70+mph much quicker.

For all you Honda haters I own a piped and jeted 400ex and I am positive that if you redlined it and any other quad the 400ex would last the longest. Infact the 400ex would probably still be able to be used like normal. Plain and simple 400ex's are practically bullet proof.
