This motor didn't seize either he probably just floated the valves and fucked his cylinder and head up. kx 450f makes 50 hp (EXACT) A kx 500 makes 51 Hp (EXACT) both stock, the 450 is 50cc's less, and its a 4 stroke. the 450 is also easy to run, (straight premium) the 500 takes mixed.
The 450 is much much much better on gas, the 500 is a pig on gas. the 450 is a beautifull bike, awsome handling suspension and weight, the 500 is older less handling more weight, not as reliable and burns oil. 450's ARE NOT TO BE THOUGHT LOW OF, THEY WILL KICK THE SHIT OUT OF YOU. AND YOUR BIKE!
Ok first off your specs are off, kx 500 about 55 hp (u may say wow big deal but thats alot more when it comes to bikes) second its been tested time and time again if you would stop being a dumb ass and just type in 450 vs 500 the cr and kc both beat them. The only thing the 450 has over the kx 500 and anyone that has half a brain knows this is the handling but when it comes to power the 500 eats it alive.

PaintLife is right the rpms are so high the valves cant keep up and they go out of synce so it pops cracks and smokes untill the rpms go down or you restart the engine

actually, neither "suck," it all depends on your type of riding. 4 strokes mostly are used for enduro and trails while 2 strokes own the track :P

technineriderTEH you have no idea what your talking about, a kx 500 has more hp then 51, a stock 2004 kx 250 has 56.5 hp at the crank witch is mnore then most new 450s. im perty sure the kx 500 hp is around 65 hp , i oculd be wrong but it deff more then 51 u tool

what about the cr 500 or the kx 500? As much as i seen the 450 cant touch the 500's top speed and power wise but they are alittle better at handling but they still cant beat the 500's.

kx 450f makes 50 hp (EXACT) A kx 500 makes 51 Hp (EXACT) both stock, the 450 is 50cc's less, and its a 4 stroke. the 450 is also easy to run, (straight premium) the 500 takes mixed.
The 450 is much much much better on gas, the 500 is a pig on gas. the 450 is a beautifull bike, awsome handling suspension and weight, the 500 is older less handling more weight, not as reliable and burns oil. 450's ARE NOT TO BE THOUGHT LOW OF, THEY WILL KICK THE SHIT OUT OF YOU. AND YOUR BIKE!

Ok first off your specs are off, kx 500 about 55 hp (u may say wow big deal but thats alot more when it comes to bikes) second its been tested time and time again if you would stop being a dumb ass and just type in 450 vs 500 the cr and kc both beat them. The only thing the 450 has over the kx 500 and anyone that has half a brain knows this is the handling but when it comes to power the 500 eats it alive.

So theirs smart ppl out there that do the aluminum frame conversion which is a 500 engine in a 450 frame. Yea everyone knows the 2 strokes mix gas but really its not that hard ppl just are getting way to lazy. Yea their gas hogs but when it comes to power u cant beat a 2 stroke. BIG POINT if the 450s are so fast why are they ran in the 250 2 stroke class? Last piont you think highly of your 4 strokes heres on for ya ATK 700cc intimidator 2 stroke super moto/ motocross bike 67 hp stoke. Beat that

since when does a kx500 or cr500 make 51hp? a cr250 makes ~50hp. cr 500 make about 60-70hp. 125cc two strokes mildly tuned make like 28hp at the wheel. haven't u heard that in thoery 2 strokes will make more, almost double the hp of the same size 4 stroke. i.e my ninja 250 makes +/-35hp. an aprilia rs 125 (2 stroke) makes 30hp. catch my dirft? point is cr or kx 500 are making north of 60 hp. very little 4 strokes can achieve thier top speed, but the will destroy cr/kx500s in torque
