Say What! Black people don't live in Ireland. What a hilarious concept for a movie. I'm sure many hijinks and comical cultural misunderstandings occur.
Considering that this movie was made in England with a Brittish cast, I don't consider it all that bad. Basing it around a very remote town, I can see areas being like this, I've seen towns down in the southern united states that are built in the same older look, as if they hadn't been updated at all. Also, a lot of people considered Eddie Griffin's performance to be subpar in this, comparing it to Undercover Brother, and to be completely honest I enjoyed this one considerably more
This is ridiculous, it reminds me of Black Knight with martin laurence except they didnt take the piss out of a country and make out we're backward!! Listen to the music and everything produced from here does it sound like gillan pipes and tin whistles? Come on the fuck!!!
wow this movie sucked. literally but it was funny when the black guy picked up those 2 bunny things or whatever they were and irish guy nearly knocked his ass out.
well i live in ireland all my life and it is not like that at all, their clothes are from 1901 like and iv never heard an irish accent like theirs before!?!!and it was filmed in cornwall in england!!
I have heard worse Irish accents in movies to be fair. They always fuck up the Irish accents anyways. Us poor Irish get a raw deal in the films haha. Then again I cant imagine many yanks understanding me waterford accent.
@suedescentedsin father ted exaggerated a part of rural irish culture that still exists!! no comparison to that film, it was waaay of the mark!!! just aimed at americans that dont have a clue about ireland!! i miss father ted!! anyways more to the point i cant believe its been 2 years since i wrote the comment!!! i dont even live in ireland anymore!!! time flies!!
@MONAGRAM88 Yeah, I'm a bit of a bugger for replying to comments that are years old. >.> Thing is, Americans will see a film like this and take it for gospel and shout from the rooftops how much they want to see Ireland!
This film has the most accurate portrayal of Ireland I have ever seen. I lived there for three months during a school exchange program, and I have to say this is exactly how it is.
i thought this is was a time machine movie O_O

Offensive to the point of sheer racism. But in fairness this is how all American productions portray us Irish . Morons

Such a badly researched movie. I live in Ireland and it seems like there are more black people and foreign nationals than there are Irish.

It's the worst representation of Ireland possible, and personifies it as being 2 centures behind the rest of the world, but it looks HILARIOUS!
