Uncharted shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Demon's Souls. Everything outside of the shooting is made for babies and the mediocre gameplay gets too overlooked because of the game's story. Demon's Souls is a real game.

@FXIX Noo it does get harder, but to a certain point. Also you can always train up, you can use souls to increase your stats. Best game on PS3 IMO (and this generation) Buy it! Atleast rent it. But deffo give it a go! and stick with it for a while!

Well I just finished the game in about 40 hours and overall IMO the game was overhyped. Since this is a youtube comment, I can't write a detailed explanation so don't flame me but I would give this game 7.5 or 8.0. The game was challenging but not entirely in the sense of A.I. combat. In reality the game was difficult just because your character was weak. I'm very good at this game. I block, counter attack, dodge, use magic, etc but 2 hits and its over. That's not a challenge that's just cheap.
Why is it that sometimes I see other peoples messages, post messages, and see other ghosts but then a few minutes later I can't. What is that about? How can I stay connected all the time?

@miguelangel408 It depends on whether you want to do everything in each world's tendency. Each world has certain events that occur when you reach Pure White or Pure Black Tendency. You can also spend alot of time farming for upgrade stones to upgrade your weapons. If you beat the game straight up it will probably take you between 30-40 hrs. If you try to do as much as possible on your first playthrough it will take you more than 100 hrs. But be warned, Dragon Age is cake compared to this game.
@Camps2630 no. demons souls( in a sense) is open world, but you cant just walk from the tower of latria to the bolitarian castle directly. you have to go to the nexus to get between them, but if your in the beggining of a area, you can go to the end without going back to the nexus.
@Camps2630 If by open world you mean a sandbox like GTA/Oblivion/Fallout, then no. But you won't need it. Nexus (the base) has everything you'll ever need.

@ninga123454 Agreed, the story is not weak by any means. It's more told in the Items (legendary ones). This (to me) make the story deep, as you have to find it. But once you do it is a very intriguing story. Also the game is not hard (in the typical sense) it more or less punishes you for carelessness or a stupid mistake like (Not blocking, going in full force, not carrying items, and the like) otherwise it is manageable enough. This is just my opinion.
My only question is this. How is the sword combat and is it authentic? I love authentic sword games. My favorite sword games are bushido blade for the ps1 and both assassins creed sword gameplay. They are the most authentic sword play. Is this game sword gameplay in any way similar to the two mention above or is it awesome? To those who really have played the games I mentioned please provide an honest answer because this game seems very interesting. It's the year of singleplayer games for me.
@AgentCell can't really say, it looks somewhat authentic. Of course some of it may be a little unrealistic in the sense of combat, but for me at least it feels authentic. I wouldn't say assassin creed level, but it is realistic in how it "feels". In that heavy weapons don't have that much effectiveness when fight a light weapon, and can't really combo well. And light weapons can combo, but lack in power. Really if you need to look at vidieos on youtub, and see the combat, if you want to know.
Sorry forgot to add the great dungeons and the fantastic music. I loved how the area had no music, only background noise, this was to me a pulse. In all honesty this game is the best game in the PS3 collection (imo).

@supersniperdevil i understand that. The "Hard as hell" part if your referring to my review opinion, really is not a negative, I'm more over saying it is not meant for everyone. The game is (to me) geared for hardcore gamers. To bad the repetitiveness does wear down the game a tad, but overall i believe it is fun once you get into it and not quite early on, cause you'd miss the true game. (this is what i believe more or less)
Great game, loved the way it has a game over. Not only do you lose all progress in the level (unless you've got the shortcuts opened) but you lost all your souls (exp/money). Now that's a game over if i did see one. The only flaw to me is it had a bit of "Fake difficulty" at times. but that's a smell grip over a overall fun and addicting game.
Love this game, it's indeed extremely hard. You never played Devil may Cry 1 ? That for me had similar experiences with regards to satisfaction of bringing a boss down ;).
It's a very good RPG, I love the experience. I also do love Final Fantasy XIII though ... and Elder Scrolls was also pretty good. This however, is fresh gameplay and the setting is the best I've ever seen. Must have game if you got a PS3.

Lol, it's sooo true about crying like a little bitch. I got soooo pissed off too many times. It's frustrating being level 110.. and having some black phantom invade your game 4 times in 10minutes and do nothing but roll, roll, roll, roll cloud of magic, roll, roll, roll. And watch you choke and die in the midde of it all while they are half way round the map and you are standing there with a giant sword and armour choking and dying with no hope. Losing 60,000 souls =(

@CaptainBNP Once you beat the first boss (Phalanx), you do a couple of things in the nexus, and then you buy levels for your attributes from the maiden in black.
i went to the game shop today and the man told me that this is the hardest game ever created. "with only 4 checkpoints and you lose your armour and stuff when you die. Also the monsters all come back to life". what the guy told me.
I just got this game yesterday... i have no friends to summon it took me over two days just to get to the first boss, and i have no flame weapons... God help me.

Demon's Souls...Has consumed my own soul I feel guilty when im not playing it. This game is so good I don't even want to play anything else or do anything else now, I hope they release DLC like fix the broken archstone to where the gaints are or add more gear and equips that would be badass.

I was under the impression that it would kick your knee caps first, then kick you in the kidney while holding it's nuts and end with a bite to the groin. That's what the manual says, but perhaps you're playing a different version.

I'll have to disagree with the story being weak. They don't tell you much, it's very vague indeed. However, there's a lot more than meets the eye when you talk to the NPCs. Everyone has their own story.
When you finally beat the game, a new cycle starts. The monsters, bosses, worlds, NPCs all reset. Only... It's twice as hard the second time around. Each time you beat it, the difficulty multiplies.
I highly recommend this game, I enjoy it very much, and can't seem to put it down.
I enjoy talking to NPC's on fallout 3. i think the voice acting is competent, their stories were interesting, and listenting to them with the dynamic camera angle made the saga much more engaging than say demon souls. but i haven't beaten either game so i don't have much room 2 talk

Sorry forgot to add the great dungeons and the fantastic music. I loved how the area had no music, only background noise, this was to me a pulse. In all honesty this game is the best game in the PS3 collection (imo).

@supersniperdevil i understand that. The "Hard as hell" part if your referring to my review opinion, really is not a negative, I'm more over saying it is not meant for everyone. The game is (to me) geared for hardcore gamers. To bad the repetitiveness does wear down the game a tad, but overall i believe it is fun once you get into it and not quite early on, cause you'd miss the true game. (this is what i believe more or less)

Great game, loved the way it has a game over. Not only do you lose all progress in the level (unless you've got the shortcuts opened) but you lost all your souls (exp/money). Now that's a game over if i did see one. The only flaw to me is it had a bit of "Fake difficulty" at times. but that's a smell grip over a overall fun and addicting game.

the story of demon's souls is actually not as simple and standard as it might appear;
the story is told through the enviroments.. the words.. the characters.. not some in-your-face over-explicit narrative.

Love this game, it's indeed extremely hard. You never played Devil may Cry 1 ? That for me had similar experiences with regards to satisfaction of bringing a boss down ;).
It's a very good RPG, I love the experience. I also do love Final Fantasy XIII though ... and Elder Scrolls was also pretty good. This however, is fresh gameplay and the setting is the best I've ever seen. Must have game if you got a PS3.

Great review. This game is too epic, I know people that quit the game like a little bitch because they dont want to dodge and be tactical, and thats what I love about it, it's made for hardcore gamers that don't just button mash. Still playing this game to get the platinum + get all the kool weapons!
Btw My advice is to play in offline mode, since online mode seems to unstablize my World Tendencies, plus people invade you and its not kool lol

Lol, it's sooo true about crying like a little bitch. I got soooo pissed off too many times. It's frustrating being level 110.. and having some black phantom invade your game 4 times in 10minutes and do nothing but roll, roll, roll, roll cloud of magic, roll, roll, roll. And watch you choke and die in the midde of it all while they are half way round the map and you are standing there with a giant sword and armour choking and dying with no hope. Losing 60,000 souls =(

I got this game yesterday n played it for half hour before work, i kicked ass!...... right up until the big demon at top of the stairs. one swipe of his axe and POOF! hello nexus. Im still a lil confused bout the lvl up part thou. i died where you see the two dragons in the distance. and got fucked by the boulders!. can you only lvl up useing the demon souls? or is it like dragon age? XP for KILLS ??

i went to the game shop today and the man told me that this is the hardest game ever created. "with only 4 checkpoints and you lose your armour and stuff when you die. Also the monsters all come back to life". what the guy told me.

@jacklino3 demon's souls is so fucking fun dude (or dudette) but seriously its combat, its rpg elements and its multiplayer are awesome and addicting all of its levels are different and it's enemies are vast. if you want an awesome, realistic, exciting and challenging action rpg then go no further. the bosses are epic and you will definitely want to play through it multiple times.

Demon's Souls...Has consumed my own soul I feel guilty when im not playing it. This game is so good I don't even want to play anything else or do anything else now, I hope they release DLC like fix the broken archstone to where the gaints are or add more gear and equips that would be badass.

u say u will have to learn the patterns of the enemies well ya for the firss or second play though but when u get to your 3rd play though the enemies mix it up more power full and if u had a pattern on a boss for say if u try it agian it will not work then you will be crying like a lil baby bitch

I'm so glad I finally bought this game. This is a must have for PS3 gamers. Dude this shit right here will spank your ass and send you home to your mom who will have no sympathy for you. I love this game. It's so fun and challenging. The online is the most creative thing I've played. I love everything about that this game. This game keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole fucking time. 10/10

I was under the impression that it would kick your knee caps first, then kick you in the kidney while holding it's nuts and end with a bite to the groin. That's what the manual says, but perhaps you're playing a different version.

I'll have to disagree with the story being weak. They don't tell you much, it's very vague indeed. However, there's a lot more than meets the eye when you talk to the NPCs. Everyone has their own story.
When you finally beat the game, a new cycle starts. The monsters, bosses, worlds, NPCs all reset. Only... It's twice as hard the second time around. Each time you beat it, the difficulty multiplies.
I highly recommend this game, I enjoy it very much, and can't seem to put it down.

I enjoy talking to NPC's on fallout 3. i think the voice acting is competent, their stories were interesting, and listenting to them with the dynamic camera angle made the saga much more engaging than say demon souls. but i haven't beaten either game so i don't have much room 2 talk
