@heavensxnight Show me a brawl combo video where everything isn't escapable. If you watch it more closely, Mr R forces spot/airdodges and follows up before they can escape. These are pretty amazing brawl combos.

Anyone at a high level of play would not be getting hit with all of this stuff after the first attack landed, because they aren't using air dodges at every given opportunity as well as directional influence which a high level player like Ken Hoang is famous for. A combo isn't a combo if it can be escaped/interrupted during the sequence. Combos don't really work on Brawl because of the huge lack of hitstun compared to Melee.

@CHAALIEL Uh, where did I say that combos in Melee could be DI'ed out of? If it were possible to DI out of attacks in rapid succession, it wouldn't be a combo in the first place. My whole point is that combos are virtually non existent in Brawl because the hitstun for everyone's attacks were intentionally lessened so that people that knew how to do combos in Melee wouldn't immediately dominate newcomers. This was part of Sakurai's vision for Brawl.
I'm a melee player, and have always been on the side of the argument that says Brawl is for kids, and isn't on the same technical level as melee. This marth is good. really good. and although there isn't wavedashing or l-canceling and things of the sort in brawl, clearly there is a high level of tech skill present in this video (as high as Brawl will go, haha). My hat is off, this marth is fucking insane
The main argument and most Melee players won't admit to it when going to brawl.. is that brawl is a different game, and just because the pros can't combo in a new game, doesn't mean combo's don't exist. Explain that to the WoP on Rob that I pull off pretty often, or wario's dair to fair, :)
@akaRavenwolf (i played melee and recently switched to brawl. I had never been to a tournament, and i found out that there are no melee tournaments where i live, only brawl.) The reason I was reluctant to switch was having to re-learn the rules. In melee the primary source of confusion was dash dancing, and wave dashing. You can't do that in brawl. This really wrecked my game, but eventually you find other technical points you have to capitalize, like spacing and having REALLY good DI and MC.
@hyperhavoc5 Yeah tripping was by far the stupidest thing nintendo has ever implemented into any game, I think that was the big challenge, and characters like Falcon got nerfed so damn hard because of "traction".

@piew101 That's bullshit. Olimar is waaay easier than marth. Marth is the character every character should be like. You need to hit people with the right side of ur smashes, makes it much harder. Olimars' spike and all of his smashes are very easy to hard land.
There is no L-cancelling or wave-dashing in Brawl. If you time aerial moves at the proper time, it auto-cancels. In terms of wavedashes, look up brawl platform cancels.
the top brawl players online don't use youtube to play brawl. None of them do. Use Allisbrawl. It has by far the best competition with a large majority of the best players in the US and some of the top in EU. (however, Mr.R does not play on WIfi anymore)
a large amount of videos from here are from tournaments. 90 percent or even the entirely of this is against top players in Europe or ranked players in countries. For example, BluB was at the time the best Falco in Europe.

Wow after all these times ive seen this video, I just realized the 1st combo was a true combo due to him missing the Counter hit. Missing the counter hit and hitstun intended for the counter hit to the next attack; which was DB1. Too good.

To duel with only one opponent n the multiplayer is no big deal. But try to play it in such a cool way shown in this video. I mean, 4 players on one small stage; chaos rules the battle. I always take Marth (sometimes Toon Link or Link) and I win the most battles, but my style of fighting with Marth doesn't look as cool as it looks when playing against only ONE person. By the way, you look got skills! Hell yeah!!

the top brawl players online don't use youtube to play brawl. None of them do. Use Allisbrawl. It has by far the best competition with a large majority of the best players in the US and some of the top in EU. (however, Mr.R does not play on WIfi anymore)

a large amount of videos from here are from tournaments. 90 percent or even the entirely of this is against top players in Europe or ranked players in countries. For example, BluB was at the time the best Falco in Europe.

@GCLU Yeah, I've seen BluB play before and he's really good. I meant to say SOME of the people he played against weren't that great. I also recently saw that istud diddy kong play and I wasn't surprised when he had only one combo against him XD

Wow after all these times ive seen this video, I just realized the 1st combo was a true combo due to him missing the Counter hit. Missing the counter hit and hitstun intended for the counter hit to the next attack; which was DB1. Too good.

To duel with only one opponent n the multiplayer is no big deal. But try to play it in such a cool way shown in this video. I mean, 4 players on one small stage; chaos rules the battle. I always take Marth (sometimes Toon Link or Link) and I win the most battles, but my style of fighting with Marth doesn't look as cool as it looks when playing against only ONE person. By the way, you look got skills! Hell yeah!!

The only problem with Marth is that you need to play very fair. No camping, and not a lot of edgeguard and those things win matches.
