The two parties were not balanced. You could not hear the adults as they were singing their part.If it were balanced, there would have been a beautiful combination of the two songs. They children were overpowering.
Well, as a high school performance, I'd give it a C-, but as an overall performance, I'd give it a D-. This scene in the show is supposed to be chaotic, not completely organized, but I'll let that slip since this is a school thing. My biggest complaint is that the ensemble is not involved enough...and that they were actually talking behind Ren's singing. About the chaos thing, our presentation of footloose had people swinging on ropes, flipping off trapolines, etc
Ren was really flat on his longer notes. I'm doing this for a community theatre thing, and it's the coolest number in the show. The ensemble's background noise is sort of distracting. It's not that bad, but it could be better. However, for a school productions it is pretty good.
since this is primarily a dance show and this is probably the strongest number in the show, i would think the choreographer would at least try to make the dance a little more complicated...or at leats entertaining...no offense to anyone who was in the show, but seriously...after my community theatre puts on our performance of Footloose im gonna see if someone can post it on here
Venture beats it by miles. still, more passion than in others i've seen. i'm still the best Ren you will ever find. well, except for maybe the broadway one...
Good, your Ren was a good dancer, and sounded good when the song was in his range, but this song was too high for him. What's the point of having this song (the best song in the show, IMO) if Ren doesn't belt his lungs out at the end?
Very, very disappointed in the dance break D':

Also, the choreography could use some work. It's done well, but its way to simple

Loved Ren, but are there only 3 townspeople in the entire show?
