  • the 1982-1991 Pontiac 6000 was assembled in

    Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States

    Oshawa, Ontario, Canada

    Tarrytown, New York, United States

  • That thing is cleaner than my undies!

  • Is there any chance you still own this car?

  • I got a 1989 pontaic 6000, i want it to look like a 1987 6000, wat do i doo and where to get the parts

  • @dsi1psp2wii3xbox4 You can start looking in the junk yards for start or buy a parts car 1987 for 50 bucks or you can find a drivable1987 6000 for next to nothing around 200 to 500 dollar range might be the cheaper rount too fix up alittle if you really want a 1987

  • my dad had this car before he died :*(, and then my mom junked it, now im tryin to find a car like that

  • I rather drive this than a lot of new cars today. It's just that proud feeling inside of me that says "I drive Something Different"

  • Exactly. and you can put some tacky stuff on it and not feel bad! like right now, just put a big boy on the front, and xmas lights all around it ran to an inverter inside the car. Happy Holidays!

  • And something that is more reliable and dependable than many of the GMs sold today.

  • 88 pontiac 6000 was my first car and the one I got my liscence with:D

  • i put one of these in demo last night, got hit by a big caddilac with 33 inch tires an the pontiac crumpled lol

  • maintain and drive the wheels off it. lol

  • clean car for a 86

  • thanks

  • Wow, you had two of the best Pontiacs ever...two of my favorite...I wished America could produce more cars like they did back then...nothing was built like an American car to last...save the engine & electronics...but the body was something solid...

  • We owned a 1987 Pontiac 6000, and it was the worst car I ever owned. An absolute LEMON! It looked good sitting in the driveway, but was stranded there or the grocery store and interstate most of the time. Traded it for a Nissan and have owned Nissan cars every since that nighmare of a car! Nissan are driven!

  • what was wrong with it?

  • It was a lemon. We could not drive five miles to the grocery story without worring if it was going to start. The car was babied from day one and always something going wrong. The power steering bracket of forged steel would break off and power steering unit would just fall in the engine. It would get hot and many times we had to walk down the interstate. It was the worst ever! We finally parked it and then traded for a good product, Nissan!

  • We have owned Nissan every since that nightmare of a car. We now get from point a to point b and will obviously buy Nisson from now on,,,

  • when it got hot you say? did this happen when you are going fast and it would die when you slowed down? like it didnt downshift sort of feeling?

  • Actually there was no warning at all. When we were walking down the interstate as the second fuel pump went bad I told my wife as I was carrying our baby, this is it! I had fuel pump installed and traded that junk for a Nissan! The pontiac 6000 was babied from day one oil changed every 2 thousand miles. It was an absolute nightmare! Never would i get the miles on that car like I do with Nissan. Your talking to a guy who still owns his teen car, 1972 chevelle.

  • wow that sucks i guess you got a bad one. We've been lucky with ours. It was origionally my great aunts, she bought it new in 1987 for $18,000 and when we got it in 2000 because she stopped driving (and died in 2004) and it only had 34,000 KELOMETERS on it. It only has 105,000 KM now. Hardly any probems besides the lockup torque converter.

  • The car was white and had black luggage rack on the trunk. It was a pretty car and when it ran it drove great, but it was a lemon. I kid my wife if we ever see one on the road. I say how on earth is that thing still on the road. Actually there are very few and I understand why. We are now solid Nissan drivers. We have 1972 Malibu which we drive summer months. It has been an excellent car I have owned for years and years... Original spare still in trunk. General Jumble Tire...

  • i just bought one of these cars with the 2.5 i4 and it runs great but it makes a crunching noise when ever i start it and again when i turn it off any ideas?

  • @marcusdearmond123 starter motor?. just an idea like that.

  • @steffidude thats american car companie. yes you can be lucky and get a good one but you can just end up with a nightmare too. thats where japanese got it right. less chance to end up with a bad car.

  • Man talk about a flashback, my buddy had one exactley like it, except his had the bottom half of the body a marroon colour...His had the four banger. Greetings from Montreal!

  • yeah, was that an LE? cause i think that the two tone with maroon was with the LE. Greetings from Winnipeg!

  • I currently drive the same exact car, just with a darker maroon and faded paint haha. Has ran like a charm though.

  • out of storage! yay!

  • 87 STE here bro, get that money

  • lol i love it!

this is one of my favs pontiacs! XD!

  • sweet. do you have one?

  • nope! :(

this model is not too popular in Argentina!...

maybe i'll buy a Grand Prix, jejeje! :P

  • lol nice

  • haha, thanks! ^^

  • screw those staring people, if you like it then its right for you

  • Mine is not in good shape ... Rust all over the Fuel cap , doors ... well . He is still alive ! 143 567 KM ( Canadian car ) Anyway I love it ! I'ts my baby :)

  • clean..west coast cars get burned in the sun and east coast cars get rusted by snow and rain

  • That is a pretty good looking car for being 20 years old and only driven on salty winter roads. Ugly hubcaps though. the alloy wheels look loads better. Would you post a sound clip of the engine please?

  • sry about the wait on the sound clip, but it's still in storage. Also, i got some wire hug caps that i'm oing to put on. any suggestions as to where to buy alloy wheels?

  • The internet or a Junkyard would be my guess, but it's probably too much trouble if you've got a different set of hubcaps

  • 'Peppy 2.8 V6'? I thought the 2.8 was grossly underpowered, at least it was in the pre-'88 S10 Blazer's

  • The S10 Blazer had the TBI 2.8L and was horribly underpowered, but I'm pretty sure this is the MFI 2.8L and it had about 25-30 more HP and alot more torque, not to mention a great soundtrack. Plus the 6000 weighs less and is more aerodynamic.
