  • My dog has bitten another dog before and didn't let go the only thing you can do is hold both dogs still to minimise damage to the other dog and wait for the bull terrier with the bite to snap out of it and let go or carry a metal spanner or screw driver with you to pull to the back of the dogs mouth each time it go's past one tooth the dog will not be able to bite down eventually getting to the back teeth and jaw forcing the dog to open it's mouth and releasing thd other dog (Watch your finger

  • Lol@the comments about saying point out the APBT like there is only one Pitbull and it's American the pitbull was first made in Ireland then brought to America or breed in America by Irish americans first APBT was bull dog X White terrier (which is now extinct ) the first PitBulls where and are still called Irish Staffy's which is where the blue nose came from if you was talking about the American bully that would be different but it's not America should stop trying to take credit for the Pitbu

  • You need to understand that "pit bull" classifies three breeds of dogs. The American Staffordshire Terrier, The American Pit bull Terrier and the Staffordshire Bull terrier. I know what you're trying to do, but you did not do it correctly. The title should state "spot the american pit bull terrier".

  • @mjfromga89 uhm no wrong that's why they parted them to recognize the difference

  • You're not pretending that the 2 listed Staff. Terriers and the American Bully aren't pittbulls right? All 3 are pitbulls. Unfortunately even with all the admirable qualties the breed posesses, it's still the most dangerous dog there is. It's "gameness" and biting strengh make even the sweetest pit a danger. Do you carry a "breakstick" with you when you take you dog for a walk? Until the fight and gameness is bred out of them, they should be classified like lions, tigers and pumas.

  • @wideawake123 Actually, I'm not meaning any offense by this or anything, but the Pitbull doesn't have the strongest dog bit. But German Shepards and Rottweiler have been proven to have strong bite forces. And a pitbull won't just automatically jump into a fight. Pitbulls are just like all other dogs. :) Again, no offense or anything. I just needed to point that out. :)

  • @HugABull1 I agree with your statement about bite strength, however, it's in the nature of a pit bull not to let go...and to shake. Trauma surgeons compare the wounds pit bulls leave with shark-bites. I wont post examples of individual cases but let's not kid ourseves about them being "...just like all other dogs. :)", :), out of the 100s of medium and large breeds in the world over half of deaths by dog-mauling are caused by one(3) breed(s)...pit bulls. They dont let go and they dont stop.

  • @wideawake123 The aggression and that "they do don't stop" thing, depends on the individual dog. My family has had many dogs in our past, and our pitbulls were always the most well behaved and the least aggressive. Yes, when they bite SOME pitbulls don't let go, but that's usually because they were originally bred for bull baiting, hog hunting, and yes, even dogfighting, and the dogs today haven't been trained to let go. And did you know almost over half pit attacks were mistaken identity?

  • whoop whoop I was right! I thaugt it was number eight! :o)

  • @ booyou. As I stated earlier. "IGNORANCE IS THE MIND KILLER".

  • Great video

  • @pitsthetruth. You just got schooled. Lol!

  • a pit bull is any fighting or gripping dog.

  • @pitsthetruth Absolutely NOT. The Pit Bull is the American Pit Bull Terrier.

So Boston Terriers are Pit Bulls?

    Or Shar-Pie?

How about the Kerry Blue Terrier or Akita? Those are Pit Bulls?

Sorry hun, but the only 'Pit Bull' is the American PIT BULL Terrier. Hence the name.

  • @sparkles1321 last time i checked none of those breeds but the sharpei was bred for fighting.

  • @pitsthetruth Check again, they were/are all fighting breeds.

  • @sparkles1321 The Dogo isn't a fighting breed. It's a big game hunting dog bred from the Cordoba Fighting Dog, but the "fight" was intentionally bred out, and other socially desirable traits bred in. Dogos are social dogs that work well with other dogs and though literally twice as big as a Pitbull, are wonderful pets, safe around kids and tolerant of abuse. They're not suited for fighting because of their gentle disposition...but if a puma, bear or boar wanders in, they become the White Hunter.

  • @pitsthetruth check again, boston terriers were originally large fighting dogs that were bred down to be household companions, akita's were bred to bite, and hold onto bears, making them gripping dogs

  • @pitsthetruth actually the Shar Pei was breed as a farm utility/guard dog, they were drugged and thrown in a pit with other dogs......of course they fought. their success was due to their extra skin. BUT they were not breed as fighters

  • @pitsthetruth lol who told you that the APBT is the ultimate fighting dog pound for pound fact

  • All beautiful examples of there breeds. My fav is the AM bully category. IGNORANCE, IS THE MIND KILLER...

  • @booyouh0ar They are, their have their own kennel clubs, classes and groups at shows. Right now it is a 'breed in progress', and has a LOT of issues due to bad breeders (like health, being labeled APBTs when they are certainly not, and being bred for nothing but looks with no regard to disposition or faults).. but the American Bully is a breed. And it does have good stewards and fanciers just like any breed.

  • @booyouh0ar I agree to a point, they were not bred for a purpose, but they are still a breed. Unlike 'designer dogs' (where they do nothing but make up names for mutts to sell them) American Bullies were bred to weed out dog aggression (not working lol) among other things. For the most part now they are bred for looks, but there ARE working kennels, who show and actually make their dogs prove themselves... BAD breeders breed for exaggerated looks, nothing else, but there are good breeders.

  • I do not agree with creating a breed without a real purpose, like catahoula bulldogs, a mix for a reason, or GSD/Malinois bred for working, but the Bully is a great breed for owners who like showing & working their dogs but prefer the look on the ambully rather than an APBT or Amstaff. I really like the look of a well put together Ambully, as I do APBTs and Amstaffs. And they can make great working dogs.. As I said, the breed has a ton of idiot breeders, but so do GSD, APBTs, & etc.

  • @booyouh0ar No actually, it's nothing like saying a Schoodle or a Labradoodle is a breed. Those dogs don't have a standard, they don't show consistency.

This is the definition of breed, "A group of organisms having common ancestors and sharing certain traits that are not shared with other members of the same species. Breeds are usually produced by mating selected parents." The American Bully HAS a standard, the standard has faults, disqualifications. The dogs produced show consistency.

  • @booyouh0ar Hence making them a breed.

So, should we kill off Toy Poodles? In my opinion there should be a dog for the general public, one that can just hang out at home and go on walks. One that's not insanely driven. The general public should not own a Pit Bull. Now if they could get a similar dog type that has less drive, needs less exercise, more apt to be dog friendly, that dog would be safer in the hands of the general public.
