  • auto tuning is the only good thing

  • 8:22 This guitar will never go out of style. Until they create Gibson Firebird X 2

  • buy a Schecter. I wouldn't buy that one even if it costed 1k...

  • Henry has spent millions to jam this guitar down the throats of the guitarists' world.... Only one one thing.... real guitarists want an instrument, not a technological toy.

Thank you Henry for destroying the once proud name of Gibson in the guitarists' musical world..

I will now sell all the Gibsons I own, including 7 vintage models...

Henry, thanks for fucking up the legacy of a great company...

  • i have an 84' firebird 2. i'm also unemployed and broke. anyone know what i might ask for the gib?

  • they better not do it to the explorer..

  • it is a shame to call it a Firebird....

  • im sorry but give me a good old firebird anyday, it just seems like all the soul of music is getting replaced by this computer shit. like if you agree.

  • just don't do this to the les paul

  • why does advancement ALWAYS have to be UGLY!!!!!!!! STYLE PLEASE???? YOU MAY ACTUALLY WIN A DINOSAUR OR 2 OVER!

  • I'd love to have that guitar if it weren't so goddamn ugly

  • Ash body, maple board, maple neck...? Sounds like a Fender. Haha.

  • ill spend 2 minutes to tune my guitar and save 1.2k

  • come on think les paul because this one is ugly

    go les paul

  • Sad Gibson.....sad......

  • what is the name of the song at 3:37 , i know it , i hear it all of the time , but i can't remember the name. lol

  • @YouRk0ed11

    Boston- more than a feeling

  • Gibson is just trying to keep up the times.

  • ugly and useless... if you need a modulation guitar, buy the line6 variax, it costs one 3rd and is much better

  • so this kind of guitar not only has a mind of its own, but is also trying to put effect pedals out of business?

  • lets just wait and see what happens guys. i'm personally gonna get one to see what it's like, and also to diversify my growing collection. if the guitar doesnt see much progress, and gets taken off the shelves within the next year or two, it may become more valuable. here's what i'm thinking:

1: take the Firebird X for a test run

    2: buy the Firebird X

    3: take it home

    4: wait 30 years

    5: ???

    6: profit!!

  • Horrible guitar, and where is the onboard amp!?

If you put it in your xBox, can you play Guitar Hero?

How do you mean, it's lite? With a whole pedalboard in it?

Is there a way to put ESET Antivirus in it?

    The clock is missing.

Nice, but where is the GPS?

I cannot play tonight, my guitar is updating.

  • Ugly and pointless...just stick to making nice guitars Gibson, stop fecking about with this kind of junk!!

  • This is how rock and metal will turn into rap and techno. I'm happy with my Les Paul with a simple amp. This just ruined Gibson.

"Yes, we will definatley see this in the future linup." Please. No.

  • Look people this is not for adult guitar players that have been playing for 20+ years. this is for people like my age around 14 years old that know how to play guitar very well. Gibson is looking for the future of young guitar players, sort of like a phone company that makes all the new smartphones.

  • @MonsterBuddy10 how does an autotuner help kids learn guitar? and how can a kid afford this piece of shit? It's 5 grand for this. so I really don't know what your talking about. By the way I'm 17 and been playing for only 3 years, I think this shit is bullshit

  • @Rimorox Well i have a 7 grand guitar so there is that and you can't say a guitar is a piece of shit until you play the damn thing. And how many guitars have you owned in the past three years, I have owned 6 guitars in the past 7 years that I have played guitar so don't judge a book by it's cover okay?

  • @MonsterBuddy10 why do you have a 7 grand guitar if your 14, I HIGHLY doubt you bought it yourself. and I'm judging the fact that 1. its ugly as fuck 2. its electronic and built basically for fags that don't wanna learn how to tune or do anything that you need to learn 3. its extremely overpriced, now if it was like 500 bucks maybe i'd give it a chance but jesus gibson. And just you know I wasnt judging your skill on guitar I was judging your idiotic statement about this guitar

  • Sounds Horrible

  • Unbearably bad, Gibson does it again, they should just stick to selling R9's to lawyers

  • It even plays backwards, but why have all the effects onboard on the guitar itself, they are planning on doing this with the rest of their line of guitars, the point of which I don't see. Just have their FirebirdX as their recording guitar & leave it at that....can't imagine the expense of this guy's set-up.

  • why dont they just make a guitar that plays itself while theyre at it

  • O and if you drop it your screwed .

  • but what if i want two effects HAHA got you now gibson.......

but really thiis is overkill the idea i guess is cool but really i would rather own 2 maybe even 3 different guitars then this one ugly crazally programmed guitar i just want a guitar i can pick up play and enjoy.....

  • piece of shit

  • im working on my own guitar project right now. its essentially the same thing with out the use of a laptop pre-setting effects. the guitar can be eq'd, compressed, have time based effects that can be changed and switched by the user, and one other slight difference that sets it way far apart from the firebird x. its still on the drawing board and i am in the touching up process and about to start buying the needed parts. Is this a better idea then the fire bird and possible?

  • So they combined a guitarpedal, with a guitar?

  • Please Gibson don't make anymore of these types of garbage fad guitars, it really tarnishes the Gibson name!

  • @Wezzcott i know right

  • right!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i want this in a flying V!

  • It sounds cool i don't have any thing against the electronics, so i think it would be cool to play.

  • Gibson sucks now.

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • too much electronics... it's a disaster waiting to happen (I think)...

"the electronics aren't working" or "there's a virus in my guitar" etc...

  • I've played it and it's pretty cool.

  • nice explanatory video---the GUITAR STILL SUCKS!

  • Well, I love that robotic guitars, so I who lost time and patience tuning, and also, waste money with pedals.

  • I would like it if it didnt have the electronics.

  • Looks like fun, but to me it's a toy.

It's 80's synth keyboards for guitar.

  • Happy with my Les Paul and amp, I can hand tune it, set up different sounds on my amp and just plug in and play they way it should be.

  • It looks like a Chinese bus that slammed into a wall. What a bad and ugly computer turd. Who wants this? Gibson, what have you done?

  • does it have an xbox in it too? how about a toaster oven?

  • this SUCKS

  • sorry...can't make the gig tonight. My guitar has a computer virus.

  • @ZenDriveSeven

    lol

  • @ZenDriveSeven xaxaxaxaxaxa awesome comment bro! Utmost respect! "Let me reboot my guitar...". Does it support USB 3.0 and fire-wire? Awesome, peace of crap!

  • o, shut up

  • Greatest guitar I've ever seen

  • Man they are tryna take the soul out of the guitar

  • @GregoryJohnsonJr But it's Gibson. These are some of the guys that GAVE electric guitars soul. This is just yet another of Gibson's guitars of the future, in my humble opinion.

  • wtf 23 frets? why? i like the finish, and the robot tech is cool, but jesus...kinda ugly

  • gibson. what the fuck were you thinking

  • I wouldn't take that guitar if it came with an epiphone

  • All that fancy technology, and they didn't even give it 24 frets

  • Yikes. That's a lot of dependency on technology, which provides the potential for any number of weak links. Besides the potential for bugs, if these were being built in 1963 do you think that they would be a desired, sought-after commodity in 2011? Project that 40 years into into the future - do you think the support technology is going to remain stable?

  • I would buy this...as soon as I get 5 grand....

  • ok this is gunna be a guitar tht seems cool for a week then u realize it is a normal firebird loaded with useless crap

  • I have all those effects already. Line 6 tries to do that with their amps. I have all those already too. What happened to guitars that were just guitars?

  • This is an ugly wrongly designed piece of crap,

Wouldn’t use it as a door stop!!!

  • One question is driving me nuts.

    Will anybody actually buy this?

  • good thing it is limited. as least we won't see the world playing this 'Not-So-Gibson-Gibson'

  • No u should be able to download a line 6 distortion effect and load it to this ugly guit box

  • whats with all the buttens all i need is a guitar a chord and an amp

  • I think this is ridiculous but dude you don't even have to have pedals if youre one of those pedal nerd people.

  • @lllULTIMATEMASTERlll I would much rather have pedals than this technology... this is only gibson effects, so i you really like fx. a Line 6 distortion, you would have to have the pedal anyway

  • @TheEliasMolander This is only the first version of this. In the future, which i hope this never happens, there will be guitars like this that can replicate any effect perfectly and give you a pretty good distorted sound just by plugging in the guitar. I'm not exactly a fan of this at all but you've got to admit Gibson had some pretty big balls to do this.

  • PS: OMG its bluetooth! and you can move whole 5 foot from this on stage without loosing the connection :D!

  • You know im not a thumb hoe but please thumb this if you think the same way as me and think, that gibson should stop inventing stuff like this and saving up money for making Les Pauls cheaper!

  • With this guitar everyone is Hendrix

  • people need to learn with music... you should embrace technology and using it to your advantage.

  • Its cool and all but i want a guitar not something thats gonna confuse me and be hard to work

  • the distortion sounds so hollow.

if advantage of buying an oldskool guitar is that you just have to pay for the features and fx you really want.with this guitar you are forced to take the whole package.

besides i dont see why this sould be called a firebird anymore, except for its shape.i came here because i wanted to hear a sweet firebird vii sound through a old vox amp but couldnt find any videos.

  • oh, look! a PC with strings!

  • does it makes coffee???

  • god damn for that money get a good guitar and a multieffect GEEZUS

  • theyre gettin all the fun out of the guitar.......

  • Omg Now your turning into first act gibson what the hellllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

  • you know, you put this in a working musicians hands and you could probably produce some good stuff. this wouldnt be a bad studio recording guitar I think. its probably a lot like some effects processors where the presets sound way too lame out of the box but once you start editing things it sounds much better

  • Limited computer-thing crap for about 5,000$ That's not even a guitar anymore!

  • Mmm... I stay with the ES-339

  • That is some of the worst distortion I've ever heard. Ever.

  • Maybe they could start doing what they used to then make this peace of shit better. Honestly it sounded like crap sorry Gibson.

  • its official, we've made the worlds first wooden computer...and it sounds and looks like shit. I have officially denounced gibson.

  • Will it take a crap for you? Bluetooth on a guitar? Really? Do we need this? No.

Gibson. Are you listening? Stop this madness now.

Also, the sounds I'm hearing here are NOT convincing.

    5k. No Way.

  • That's pretty cool. I love fat necks.

  • I can't even look this guitar for like 5 second;

    It sucks way too much

  • guitar? that's a computer or another rare machine... I prefer my guitar with manual machines and controls...

  • NONSENSE

  • "Here's something you don't hear coming from an electric guitar every day..." with good reason.

  • lol. maybe this is the future of electric guitars.

  • @lameKidification maybe not

  • I like the auto-tune feature..I even like the idea of coil-tapping and reversing phase on each coil...but leave the effects to the effect pedals.....and for gods sake put this technology into a guitar that actually looks cool......I doubt gibson is even reading this feedback.

  • i dont want some pH.d in quantum robatics to play a guitar....

  • Comment removed

  • Analouge my ass. Sounds like a cheap multi-effects pedal.

  • A firmware update for a guitar? vomit.

  • sounds like crap. shame on gibson, ugly too. stop it with the electronic crap and get back to making good solid guitars. I just tried a new les paul that weighed nothing. how am I supposed to get tone out of that? I was told that the body was bored out. wtf??? nothing exciting from gibson lately.

  • Oh wow that sounds absolutely shit on every single setting he played.

  • At least this "guitar" was properly tuned before demoing it..

  • Uh it's complicated, I'd prefer the normal Gibsons, but I am sure if we understood how this guitar works, we'll love it .. Because surely they've put many features in it.

  • piece of shit. keep it simple stupid!

  • as for U.S.A on the back of the headstock they should consider changing it to made in germany & assembled in america...tronical is a german company & i don't have a problem with that...i just think gibson should remove the made in the U.S.A stamp because it drives the price up on shity guitar like this

  • @rweghg3 made in Germany is more expensive then made in the US...

  • it looks like a bowling ball on crack made by tronical wih gibson being the crack whore & selling their name to slap on it for a 20 dollar rock...this is a tronical p.o.s it's really not made by gibson & it has very little if any input from craig anderton...

  • Horrible guitar... Atleast with the first run of 'Robots' it appeared to be a small modification on the LP. This is just too much

  • Comment removed

  • its a nice guitar but its way too complicated

  • They already have several guitars that tune themselves... I reckon soon they will make a guitar that plays itself... what has the world come to?

  • This is gonna blow away all vintage guitars and i dont want that to happen have we became to lazy to tune our own guitar???? They are gonna start putting this in all gibsons and its just stupid....cool concept but not smart idea soon guitar are gonna be basically synths with strings!

  • Less is more

  • @mig29su27f16 think yngyiw said it best when he said less is less and more is more. with that said this is pretty atrocious

  • thing is with a normal guitar not much can go wrong with it. One electrical problem with this thing and ur screwed

  • gibson used to be amazing making one of the popular and best guitars ever, the les paul. Now it looks like their running out of ideas and going down hill with modern technology

  • "This guitar will never go out of style."

I believe this guitar is ALREADY out of style. Douche.

  • I wonder if you can make a phone-call while playing.

  • Comment removed

  • This thing is going to sell like a popped balloon I swear. And unlike the v and explorer which also had unpopular debuts, this will never come in style or become better with age, because all of this technology will be out of date its going to be ten years from now. Hell its out of date now seeing as how much better pedals perform against these effects now matter how many updates are made. They should rip all the crap out, make it solid ash and just have master volume and 2 tones or 3 vol 1 tone.

  • 23 frets, seems like they couldn't make up their mind, 22 or 24 .. i think its ugly

  • uh.. a guitar body pattern inspired by a flood? really?

  • how much is the data plan on at&t?

  • 900 of each color? too many imo....

  • dont destroy da legend!!

  • I miss good old days that you would go to a guitar shop and ask for a guitar and they gave you one!

The only thing that makes me laught hard the is name for Les Paul "Traditional" !!!

It means that it is old school and no one has "FUCKED" with it YET !!!

This design will go down to the toilet same as Robot and even VG Fender Strat.

What is next! guitar with hot chick voice saying: ooh youre a great player....oooooo

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think it might be great for the studio – but God forbid I should ever be seen with anything like that on a stage. This thing clearly has styling issues.

  • reverse

  • this is a guitar that will not sell on a metal or rock market, its great to have all these tone and sounds, but they some how missed one major and obvious flaw, its way to fucking complicated. there are over 100 sounds, great, but 1. i cant afford it 2. if you find an awesome sound and accidently touch the knob u lose it, and 3. that guy is wrong, it will go out of style, in fact it already has. they call it revolutionary, for 1800 people, way to go gibson, you fucked yourself over

  • did you get that for free or did you buy it

  • freakin awesome/freakin ugly. like seriously put this construction in a stratocaster and ill be 5 of em, probably even sleep with one in my bed :D

  • hmm slash with a gold top les paul or... ?

  • @mikebockus a fuckin nerd who does nt know what rock is

  • @LooKAliveXD fuck u ass hole , u think this is a rock guitar?

  • @mikebockus did i said that was a guitar

i said that guy was a nerd that did know what rock is cause he is playing that shiT

  • Chambered body? No fucking thanks

  • Guitars are going to change, this is probably not a big and perfect step towards new generations of electric guitars, but it IS a step. So dont be that oldfashioned, be open to new stuff, give it a try and if you do not like it then dont buy it.

To me this guitar looks kinda fun, even though it might be hard to get into it

  • haters gonna hate. you guys are pathetic.

  • Bloated. What the hell happened to plugging into a distortion pedal and into your amp? I play the guitar as a way to unwind or have some fun with other people jamming. This looks like you need a fucking 4 year degree to use. No thanks.

  • this is pointless. I'd end up completely fucking up all the settings and then get really angry with it

  • this is not a guitar

  • since when did gibson start building guitar hero controllers?

  • Too much computer.

  • i think it sound cool that one day i actually have to say "hold on a sec just have to update my guitar" but then again i am a techno freak

  • good on paper, poor in execution. good try

  • this is really the worst thing they came up with in the past 70 years. This isn't a guitar, its a freaking amusementpark... What on earth were they thinking? Totally not in line with anything Gibson used to stand for... What a shame, what a shame...

  • This scares me. Srsly.

  • What happened to a good piece of wood, and a good set of pups?

  • NOTHING was as ugly as that Dusk Tiger they came out with. THAT thing was embarrassing feat of engineering!

  • @mykylc

Dont forget the reverse flying V. That thing was ugly.

  • @heihei2300 Yea it was...but at least it didn't have the look like it was made of plywood. hahahaha!

  • This is going to ruin Gibson

  • 23 frets?

  • Is this guitar smash-proof?

    :D

  • Gibson.... um yeah, what exactly were you smoking when you thougt up this one. Guitar meets Line 6 poopy modeler? C'mon. Here is an idea . Stick t the same quality as your "Custom Shop" models and price them realistically. The market has changed. The over -priced stuff your selling right now does not cut it.

  • what a crap! this "guitars" comes to guitar hero noobs or what?

  • "the finish was inspired by the flood in nashville"

no, you stole it from jackson

see "crimson swirl" and "eerie dess swirl"

  • If I was a studio player that would be handy.

  • these robot guitars are going to kill music.

  • i want a guitar, not an xbox

  • OMG, how many mistake possibilities in a single instrument....I can imagine the support/service outside U.S.

  • Thers 3 things wrong with this guitar: 1: The finish is ugle 2: Who needs that much effects in a guitar? 3: Who has the money to spend on it?
