I recognize the environments from Ridge Racer 3D (yes, nostalgics of the original arcade game will feel that my statement is backwards :-P ). It's impressive to think that nowadays a portable, STEREOSCOPIC console can display better graphics than an extremely expensive arcade machine. Although, I still wish that Namco would make a sandbox game that combines all circuits and lets players drive freely through all the streets of this imaginary Rave City.
@DevilMaster I was thinking the same thing. Even the PSP ridge racer looks better, with more advanced car models. Amazing that this arcade cost about $20,000 when it came out
Nopes ... still runs far from playable. Only found options for multithreading in the mame.ini (running the game without sound doesn't help either) using the current 0.141 version.
@1337Shockwav3Games Really? I know mame only makes use of 2 cores but that's way too slow for that CPU. Make sure you have hyperthreading on and number of cpus set to 4 in the mame.ini

What did you use for emulating? Doesn't look like Vivanonno and runs way faster than MAME.

@1337Shockwav3 This runs like this on my E8400 Core2duo with 64bit mame

@RetroRepair Guess my Q6600 with 32bit Mame sucks then (usually makes 4-10fps) :(
