  • You can't see it in this video because of the stand but I've notice that John Daly changes his grip during his forward press in his swing.

  • I think you meant the '93 Masters were he was T3. His best finish in a US Open was T27th. But I agree, when he wasn't drunk or having issues keeping marriages together and was at his best, he was as good as anyone.

  • Should have been 3 majors ! He was so close to winning the U S Open. The man could play the game ! Carl Welty

  • You clowns who accuse any golfer who releases the clubhead properly of "flipping" make me laugh. At impact, Daly's hands are ahead of the clubhead, with a flat left wrist, and forward shaft lean. The dude generates more lag in his swing than anybody alive, and his action is pretty much as far from "flipping" as possible. You wouldn't know a "flip" if it bit you in the ass.

  • even though his back swing is long its still a nice golf swing

  • crazy swing, john is a cool dude

  • WOW....WHAT A BACK SWING, UNBELIEVABLE...HIS CLUB COMES BACK AND POINTS AT THE GROUND!

  • It looks like he flips at it some.

  • omg this guy and jim furyk have my 2 favorite swings in all of golf

their swing is bad BUT peiple apperantly IT GETS THE JOB DONE FOR THEM :p

  • omfg this guy and jin

  • I naturally swing like John Daley

  • @countryboy1630

I'm pretty sure sure you have a crappy swing and you don't know nothing about golf considering you write John Daley and not John Daly

  • He pops his left knee just like Tiger.

  • crazy swing

  • though*

  • this guy hits no fairways thoguh

  • @colew001 check your stats, especially from when this was taken

  • @arniepga yes, he was 162 in fairways hit and hasn't gotten any better since

  • @colew001 the last 5 players to lead the tour in fairways hit finished outside the top 125 and did not keep their tour card...power is a fundamental, driving accuracy is not

  • must be double jointed in his back or something

  • Teachers say keep the shaft parallel his is perpendicular to the ground

  • @J3D0000 teachers also dont get his club head or ball speed

  • JESUS CHRIST!!! thats a hulluva swing.

  • that swing looked a little bit like Jamie Sadlowskis swing.

  • @f0cusen Daly had this move before Jamie was born, so Jamie is a bit Daly =-)

  • The lag at 0:28 ....Good God.

  • just ridiculous flexibility. this guy is a talent; to have such a powerful swing like that however he still has great touch and feel especially around the green

  • @brh5934 If you look hes not even really that flexible. He bends his left arm and his right elbow flys way up. Its actually not that hard to get that far past parralel if you do that. But your right about his power and touch. Fun to watch

  • @tim191219 good point, although I think his shoulder turn is ridiculous in relation to his hip turn, fred couples esque.

  • @tim191219 he's still pretty flexible, look at 0:15. well past parallel and his arm isnt any more bent then Couples, Love or Norman. I agree with you about not needing super flexibility to get the club back like that, but a couple points of Daly's backswing show good flexibility

  • complaining about a bent left arm (especially this amount) shows serious lack of knowledge of the swing, that or you apparently dislike Nicklaus, Els, Couples, Snead, McIlroy, Norman and the list goes on.. To say Daly lacked flexibility back when this was taken is either insane or ignorant.

  • 0:16

  • you can almost see space & time warping when the clubhead connects with the ball

  • that swing is beeast

  • John Daly has a super swing! Forget the "overbackswing." AND he knows as much

about how to play as any other pro. He might unmanage some -but that is his nature.

All the pros are great golf players -but John Daly has the potential of the top 10%.

  • Great video of an awesome swing!!! Daly is a mile past parallel in that swing!!

  • Way past parallel! Thank you for sharing Carl!
