This is making me feel 110 years old LMAO! (I was 11 when this was recorded) WOW.. to think a cell phone's technology to record sound & video is infinitely better than our old 8mm cameras! But this is truly classic.. thanks for sharing.
i saw Styx open for Kiss at the Summit in Houston in 1977. there is great live footage of Kiss at that show. i just can't believe there isn't any of Styx?!?!? i know self-promotion is the key to success, but crap Kiss' people couldn't have filmed just one or two songs by Styx? grrrr!
btw, it was the first time i had even *heard* of Styx. they were awesome. i went right out and bought every album. just awesome...
Well if someone can find any footage of Mark Marshall supposed drum tour days with STYX (he said 8 tours) I wold be gretly impressed. Can't finf anything on him but claims he use to be a famous rockstar in that band. He is in a local Sarasota band called STRYKER
Thank you for posting this. I've collected over eight hundred concert footage recordings over the span of 15 years and made over three hundred thousand dollars selling them to over twenty thousand people. So when I FINALLY track down Grand Illusion footage here, I savor every precious second of it. Thank you. You have confirmed many discussions I've had saying that 8mm DOES exist. Question... Have you seen the pro-shot 25 min. from MSG of the 78 tour?
Even unreleased footage is owned by someone (usually the artists) and that someone definitely isn't you. I've seen what you have and you're selling massive numbers of illegal copies. If you want to see how many people I've helped bust, go to grayzone dot com slash usabusts dot htm It's only a matter of time before your name will be there.
Jeepers creepers man, a few things I'd like to say. #1-everything I do in my life is a labor of love.#2-You haven't seen anything, because there's nothing to see anywhere.#3-I'm not selling "massive" copies of anything. #4-you tried to scare me by bluffing that you're surveying me. Dude, I just hang out. Jeez copyrightenforcement, you'd probably like me if you met me, most people do. I'd probably like you too, we have alot in common. Finally, #5-I took so much abuse for loving Styx, I suffered.
@every2dogs You know where the term "cracker" came from? It was the term negro slaves used for the master who cracked the whip. So anytime you call whitey a cracker, it's not an insult like you think. If you call me a cracker, I take it as a compliment and thank you for it. It means you still consider me, the whitey, superior to you. Thanks!
@limeytrash "copyrightenforcement" was cracking the whip on Rockvideos. Just because we are slaves doesn't mean we can't stand up. Where I come from it is not a compliment. It means YOU think YOU are superior. Me calling you a cracker is telling you that I understand you think you are superior but I am openly challenging this assessment of yourself. I hope this clears up the misunderstanding you had of the proper usage of the term Cracka'
I know that some of it is Suite Madam Blue for 3 reasons. 1- Chuck is singing 2- TS does his salute and that combined with Dennis out front (and TS playing a double neck) I would guess Suite Madam Blue.
Still looking for the original fooling yourself video. I've seen short clips on VH1-Behind the music so I know it exists. The band also recorded video for come sail away same day as it had same lighting, venue, outfits etc. That (come sail away) video is here on youtube to enjoy. Anyone have fooling yourself video?
Doesn't anyone have any decent footage with sound of Styx from the 70's?? There must be someone out there- Tommy?? Where are they keeping it locked up?
That was cool. Kinda eerie without sound, but cool to see that old 70's footage,in 8M,no less

1976 and 1977 tours are available at wolfgangsvault. Search Yahoo or Google for wolfgangs vault. Go there. Click Concert Video. Search for Styx.

I wish there was some quality concert footage of this era, when they still looked like rock n roll pirates. :)

Do just a little research before posting a question like this, unless you're joking, in which case it isn't funny.

So what you're saying is that you're a huge bootlegger and have ripped off over 20,000 people selling your illegal warez. Right?
copyrightenforcement 4 years ago
You're confusing unreleased footage with pirated copies of released videos. But golly, thanks for sharin'.
