I flew in P-3A & P-3B Orions as a Sensor Operator (SS3) with VP-64 from willow grove NAS from 1985-88 but I also grew up right there in Warrington and watched planes as a kid. I miss having seeing the A-4s and A-37s and P-3s and C130s since I've been in Florida the last 20 yrs. Thanks for the memories.
Do you know if video exists of the tragic f-14 crash at the airshow here years ago? I saw it happen in person, but have never seen video of the accident.
Great shots!! I remember the days (20+ years ago) when this kind of activity was guaranteed every day. My Dad and Grandfather would take me to the old observation lot. I go there with my little boy and play in the field in warm weather, hoping for a jet or helicopter. Many times we have been surprised when a huge transport, or fighter jet suddenly lands. So awesome when they fly 200 ft over your head.
Thanks for the video! I was actually sitting right seat in the T-39 (Rocket 531). We did a cross country training flight from our home base (NAS Pensacola) to Philly for the Army-Navy game. Great video, I'll show it to the rest of the crew.
I was told that the Hornets would be arriving after dark but I took a gamble and prayed that they arrive in daylight... so happy they did. You'd have to know the locals in order to spot there because the police did ask about me since they didn't recognize my car.
C-9 Skytrain, Yay!
