Hey i would like to ask , how is the screen touch sensitivity of the HTC hero and the Acer liquid compared to the iphone. As far as i know, many of the touchscreen phone u actually have to press kinda hard in order to slide it whereas the iphone is super sensitive. Thanks (: nice videos.

@thaddeusleejj you can adjust the sensivity in the tabs.. in my opinion it starts good but my sister cant handle it and need the sensivity lower

I'm about to buy a Phone and to change my old Nokia E65 to a Hero or a Liquid. My hearth beats on the Liquid but my mind sais I should buy the Hero because of the HTC brand. I have 2 Acer monitors and they are cheap but quite good so I trust in Acer. As I saw the specifications, the Liquid is more faster, the screen bigger than the Hero's but the multi touch is missing and the box of the Liquid is weak. If You were me, which one would You buy? I Heard there is a way to root this device, Have you tried yet? you could to that tethering and clocking the device higher than the default. also a colleague of mine is thinking about getting the phone, would you say it is worth the cash?

Check this forum for the root app and its success. I haven't tried it personally but I probably will when there's an Adroid 2.0/2.1 ROM for it.

Heya i cant sync the phone with my pc..

When i install the driver i get a new map in c:program files /acer

when i plug in the phone the map dissapears and a USB device appears

But all files u add cant be found in the phone

Any idea how to fix it..

hey, can you check on the spec sheet what kind of 3g bands it has cause im in the us and i want to put this phone on AT&T here and it had 850 +1900 bands for 3g, does the liquid have it? Thanks

How is the battery life?

Pretty dire, using it heavily will give you about 12 hours (WiFi on quite often, browsing a lot, music for a couple of hours etc.) - normal usage will give you 24-36 hour battery. Not as impressed but comparable to other smartphones.

i'm the guy who asked you about tethering , well it didn't work , i install the driver from the web but i can't reach the modem !!

did u try it my windows is vista !

I didn't try it all I'm afraid, I simply put the manual pages for public viewing. Email Acer, they may be able to help.

If you need a phone right now, I recommend the liquid since it has better hardware. If you can wait, HTC are releasing their update to the Hero in Q1 2010 called the 'Legend'. The Liquid should get Android 2.0/2.1 in 2010 too so compare those phones then.

how is the call quality on in terms of clarity and loudness?

Calls are clear and loud, easily audible. Only problems I've encountered was due to my location and signal strength, phone works great to make calls.

It's just my finger, I was looking through the camera and was missing it lol. About 1/20 times an app lags and doesn't immediately go back so that could've happened too.

How is the video playback? Can I play 720p files on it without converting them down or are those just too heavy for the phone to handle?

I tried a 720p WMV file but that didn't work, I'll try converting it to different file formats and let you know.
