  • kkj1966, my heart is bleeding for you. I have an idea, why don't you join 60 minutes, since you are an arbiter of the truth, as you see it. I have a really good suggestion. Just enjoy this performance. Robert Palmer was one of the best, a smooth and stylish man, and his music still sounds good today. May he RIP

  • i have a dog ( pommie - shitzu ) 12 year's old and when she sadly passes away i will play this song in her honour

    R.I.P. Robert ...King of cool

  • PURE CLASS!!!!!

  • this could easily be a classic from the beatles impecaable catalogue.

  • @muggedinmadrid Actually it is a classic stolen from the Beach Boys without credit... take a listen. search youtube for "beach boys surf's up"

  • @CthulhuWaitsDreaming actually, i'm a huge beach boys fan and surf's up is one of my favourite songs; i think thats why palmer's song reminded me of the beach boys. i agree with you though, i can see similarities between the harmonies and melody. they're both achingly beautiful songs in their own right.

  • @muggedinmadrid I really like the Palmer song too. I just wonder why Brian Wilson wasn't credited. Surf's Up and Carl Wilson's Feel Flows from the same Beach Boys album are amazing songs.

  • Used to listen to this song constantly as a kid. Even then I think I knew this is how a man should feel about the woman he loves. Had no idea there was ever a video. Thanks so much for posting.

  • Just one touch…xo <3 <3 <3

  • A CLASSIC FROM THE MASTER OF WHITE SOUL....LOL....HAVE A GOOD ONE...

  • This is such a classy music. not just ordinary 'teenage' music...The music arrangement is perfect..RP really know how to sing with 'feeling'. Thanx 4 sharing this video ...thanx

  • love the man - was just about to buy tickets for his show when I heard about his death. With songs like this he will always be around. What a chanter!

  • thanx for the great vid max, i was driving the other day when i heard it on smooth radio and its been on my mind ever since so had to come and find it. wonderful song thanx again for sharing.

  • After all of these years - I had no idea there was a video!

  • When this song first played on Radio one I thought it 'unusual' and it stuck out from anything I'd heard before. I still listen to it regularly and for me, it shows some of Robert Palmer's genius. For anyone listening to Robert's music for the first time, I would suggest checking out his other stuff too.

  • 23 years on, what a great song.

  • Mamas an Papas wedding song :))))))

  • A cool, classy, stylish, soulful man.

  • The man was a superstar!!!!!!!!!

  • geniues !! shame he is still not with us love this song, !!

  • the nicest British guy I've met !

  • I saw Robert Palmer in Melbourne, 1989 or so. Forget Doctor Doctor, Simply Irresistable or Addicted to Love.... this song made everyone rush to the stage and sing their hearts out. What a gig... he went from this and the aforementioned songs to doing a soul bracket (pure Otis Redding), some jazz... even yodelling!! The sound, unfortunately was dodgy but it was a great gig. A great musician.

  • Have been here several times. One of my all time favorite songs and vids. Would LOVE to see someone sync this up right....

  • wonderful :)

  • @Barbarann1960 - The video and audio is slightly out of sync throughout...not Robert. Thanks to Maxi470 for posting though....sync is a minor issue :-)

one of the finest song's u will ever hear ,

    R.I.P ROBERT PALMER

    U R THE MAN

  • @Milady thanks for the input. I like the idea of a Palmer insider weighing in here and I like the idea that he would have enjoyed the fact that people were enjoying his music. It wasn't just a product to be forgotten by him, he put a lot of thought and consideration in his work. The man was a pro, no doubt about that. As one other person mentioned, this song has a UB40/Otis Redding vibe to it that I like. Ali Campbell of UB and his mates were close to Robert Palmer. This song is cool. Peace.

  • @Milady799, thanks for the posts about Robert Palmer. It must have been great knowing him . Thanks for taking the time to visit this site. I was always a fan of Robert Palmer's and this song was great. This song happened to be the first song played at my sister's wedding that she danced to as a married woman. It is included in her wedding video. We were all younger in those days but this song still brings back memories. Thanks again.

  • 'i'm far too Bizzy Sludgging Her' as in Sludgging Hoff in play'; This makes my state.

  • 'i'm far too Bizzy Sludgging Her'

  • From the late sixties (when I was at school), and the early seventies, I followed him religiously. He was wonderful in the Alan Bown Set and Vinegar Joe with Elkie Brookes. Europe (especially Germany) appreciated his amazing talent long before we did. I lived in Dortmund in the late seventies/early eighties and he was a God there and rightly so. Suave, talented, innovative lyrics - a unique performer. It was a treat to see him perform live. God bless you, Robert. Thank you for these great clips.

  • I Miss The Music From This Man R.I.P.

  • out of sync. thanks anyway

  • there are a quite a lot of love ballads as good as this - but you need to go to Otis or Al for most of em .. i think this track is unique, there's nothing to compare it to - maybe a couple of ub40s are simular but (for me) this is a perfect song that's in it's own league Robbie P is cool as fuck.

  • Coolest cat in Music.

  • @Milady799 thank you for the sweet and peaceful comment you made about your friend Robert Palmer. Robert Palmer was all about music as evidenced by his performance of many genres of music. No offense, but please don't use this download to slam people. That is not what this site was intended for. She Makes my Day made me and my wife's day. Everytime we heard it we danced with one another. Beautiful. We recently celebrated our 25th Anniversary. May Robert Palmer RIP.

  • I was just introduced to this song today, and it is quickly becoming a favorite. Wow.... So Amazing..... So tragic...

  • I was just introduced to this song today, and it is quickly becoming a favorite. Wow.... So Amazing.....

  • my grandfather is the primo violinist in this video. Never even knew that till he past. Long Live Arthur Gerard. Also Primo of Claridges. for 5 years.

  • hy what else can i say .......

  • Wow the lyrics of this song... wt any lady would like to hear! amaazing

  • My wedding song x

  • I always noticed in this video that whenever the camera paused for too long on Robert Palmer he would point at the microphone and the camera would move away. Probably just code for the camerman to Piss off. He does it several times. Has anyone else noticed this?

  • Mr Palmer was and is still gentlemen.

  • This is a good song by Palmer. It was a good romantic song that you could dance to in the eighties amidst a surfiet of songs that were not conducive to romance. My wife still loves this song. No offense, but I would rather listen to the music than read comments from "historians" like ozerris and kkj1966. If I want a biography of Robert Palmer I will look one up. SavvyJedi had the right idea, it's about the music. Thanks for the upload.

  • Love this, reminds me of my daughter.

  • @NicolaMc01 Charming comment...she's very lucky!

  • Please stop being disrespectful to the memory of a true genius ( cool genius )

  • Ella dice que no somos responsables...

  • Thanks for the comment Maxi470. Robert Palmer would not have liked unwelcome comments about his private life being made for sport, especially towards someone he loved very much. Keep the faith and thanks for the music. I know that even though Robert Palmer's been gone for a while now he still has a big fan base. Thanks again.

  • This is a lovely song, probably the best that Robert recorded.

    RIP Robert.

  • One of Yorkshires own!!!!

  • Thank you Maxi470 for your comment. To borrow Shakira's phrase it is appreciated. Robert Palmer's music and style was one of a kind, and he is still missed. Thank you for keeping his memories alive with your conciencious work put forth on this site. And thank you for bringing us the music, Maxi, you've done a great job with these uploads. I know Robert Palmer fans enjoy this site as much as I do. Let the music play.

  • Sir Robert Palmer

  • Thank you Maxi470 for your comment. It is appreciated. You understand the meaning of the word moderator. Sorry that I got hot under the collar, I just hate seeing someone attack someone over a situation that is private, as you have rightly pointed out, but I was in the wrong. I appreciate you putting up this great site, and thank you for including True Love, one of my favorites. People do appreciate the trouble you have gone to.May Robert Palmer RIP. Peace my friend.

  • @Maxi470 I am an informed fan of Robert Palmers' music and it is very difficult to remain silent when I know the truth. These blatant lies and false information about his family cannot remain unchallenged because it sullys his legacy. However, it is your upload so I will abide by your rules. Thank for the post and the video.

  • @kkj1966 After reading some of the earlier post I see you are not the first to question this about his girlfriend. I agree with you it is false. As a fan it is hard to stay silent.

  • Usually I don't like to post many comments on a video I've uploaded but this is one of those cases in which I'm forced to do it ... What's wrong with you people?, I can't believe all this back-and-forth regarding a situation that, clearly, nobody will fully understand, it is a private matter, and should remain that way ...... Can't you just enjoy this amazing song?, I hope you can start focusing on what's really important, Robert's wonderful music legacy.

  • @Maxi470 ....I agree Maxi..let's just enjoy the song!

  • @Maxi470 To me this is the best Robert Palemer song ever....

  • @rudedanny yes, I totally agree wit you. I couldn't figure

out why this wasn't a bigger hit. It would have been a great song in different eras.

  • @Maxi470 good song..............alot of memories for me with this song!!!!

  • No offense taken about the misspell Beautiful Shakira, although I am still working on the muffin that has recently taken residence upon my body! kk, I am sorry to inform you, but Robert Palmer did indeed have two daughters as well as three sons. If you are a Robert Palmer fan like you say you are, focus on the man's music and don't worry about people that you do not know. And alas, I am only one person, not two. kk, think good thoughts and don't worry so much, just enjoy the music.

  • @Milady799 ...Stop spouting your lies.

  • No offense t

  • Sorry, Milady799. I did not mean to misspell your name.

  • I hear the distant sound of whining. Oh yeah, it's KK again. Snap out of it, fool. There is no conspiracy afoot, and to be honest with you your opinion don't matter to the beautiful Shakira. Nope. But, if it makes you feel any better, go ahead and call anyone that disagrees with you a liar. As my grandpa used to say 'Any port in a storm.' By the way, who is "they?" And how do you know what "they" do and don't do. I am with Milardy799, don't use this site to air your grievances. Peace.

  • @Shakira8952 Honey, you need some professional help. I said they don't post about his private life, like you do. 2 daughters really? It's odd how his wiki bio changed after someone started posting these lies. Did you change that bio? Shikira, you don't know what you're talking about and ~I can't resist~ your LIPS are lying.

  • Heres a message to kkj1966 and the onedeal: I have not heard such whinging and whining since my boys were in diapers. Waaa. Jeez. Sorry, kk but Mark Palmer, two of Robert Palmer's daughters and some of his friends do post comments. According to biographies of Robert Palmer, Geraldine Edwards was Palmer's girlfriend. No, publicassemblyman and Milady 799 are not one and the same, and Miss Dine do DEFININETLY exist. Grow up. Also, thanks to rjvsngh09.

  • that is just one awesome song. I was walking around singing it this afternoon, and I probably hadn't heard it for at least 10 years. Magic!

  • Thanks, we have been...

  • @rjvsngh09 I've done all the research I need to do and I know what I'm talking about. I do not care if RP had a girlfriend or not but I do know her name wasn't geraldine edwards. NONE of RP "friends" would even post a comment on youtube about his personal life anyway. You and milady799 were never friends of RP. I think you, milady799 AND publicassiblyman are the same person. Begone and stop spreading your stupid lies.

  • @rjvsngh09Really!You might want to do more research because miss dine don't exist, well maybe in milady799 and your imaginations.

  • What a great song! The anthem of my greatest love affair :-)

  • SEÑOR PALMER, ME QUITO EL SOMBREO ANTE USTED. ME ENCANTA .

  • So cool he makes a suit look casual!..

  • Cool never goes out of style; he had it all; such a brilliant guy, genius of a composer, and a sincerely decent person. I liked him back in the day and I still think he's the only singer who can touch our hearts like he does because he must have felt what he sang. It's heartwarming to see him smile. Thanks for the videos!! My faves are Doctor, Doctor and She Makes My Day. This makes my day.

  • he looks a bit like Andy Summers....great guy i i miss him..

  • One cool dude, very underated in my opinion.Great voice

  • Thankyou Kevin....You make every day...I love you xxxxxxxxx

  • The only artist who could actually improve on a Marvin Gaye song. It takes Every Kinda People to replace Robert Palmer and no one has.

  • All of Robert Palmer's music is Simple Irresistible.

  • This song is awesome. I'm sure a lot of people can identify with it regarding their wife/ girlfriend.

  • Beautiful!!! Now, he sings with the angels...

la médiatisation de cet évènement n'a sûrement pas du être à la hauteur de son talent ou alors je perds la boule !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    je suis franchement attristé !

  • Voice + Style + Smooth + Class = One Cool Dude !

  • I don't know what it is about Robert Palmer, but he chills me out big time! When i heard he died, i couldn't believe it. It was like when your best friends dad or older friend has passed away because you automatically feel close to him. He's cool as fuck and always will be

  • @tonyo2323 I couldn't agree with you more. So well said. We lost one of the best too young. The coolest front man!

  • @kkj1966 really? you might wanna do some research before talking out of your arse dude. Geraldine married another guy in 2006, and she works as a paralegal in LA. go google her name.

  • Is there anyway to get the timing of this great song in sync with the video? Would make it a much more enjoyable watch, but thanks for posting regardless.

  • yesi miss him 2

  • Why do people like Corny-Ass Palmer from 1988 and later so much? This is when he FELL OFF.

  • This is the best song ever.

  • wasnt fair him being taken away from us miss you robert x

  • Class tune, Class singer

  • A blogger writes that Robert Palmer wrote "She makes my day" for Mary Ambrose. That is not true. I was a friend of Robert's since the seventies. Robert was married to Susan Palmer in the eighties and the song was written for her beyond the shadow of a doubt. Mary Ambrose dated Robert from 2000 to 2003 and she was twenty-six years old at the time of his death. His girlfriend at the time of his death was Geraldine Edwards, the woman Almost Famous was based on. Thank you.

  • @publicassemblyman thanks for that info i did wonder, id soo much of liked to have met him i have pure envy that you knew him lol may he r.i.p

  • @publicassemblyman You were a friend of his! OMG! I just think he is one of the sexiest, most charismatic men that ever walked this planet. And so talented. Big loss :(

  • @publicassemblyman Per my comment to @jakenormanowen, there's conflicting information about when RP actually met Mary. Some sources state that he was with MA for as long as 12 years when he died, and I've never read or seen anything that mentions a Geraldine Edwards, except on a blog which I'm surmising you wrote (it uses the same phraseology). If you knew RP personally, please tell us who you are and how you knew him. It will lend more credibility to your claim.
