  • Dude you're awesome. I love this.

  • I just want you to know this video helps in an way I can not explain. I am older and have only been hooping a few months its good to know im not the only one that has trouble getting to the quiet zone. thank you for sharing. Amazing by the way!!!

  • @waterbaby4life thanks for writing this. you are definitely NOT the only one who gets stuck in her head. that's my M. O. , for reals. i'm sure a TON of people can relate. keep going! xo

  • @brecken77 I am Stalker McStalkerton!

No really you inspire me so much! I just discovered hooping about a month ago and am totally hooked. I made a yt playlist of how to hooping vids and people who inspire me with the intention of further spamming my friends and trying to get their asses off their couches in the hoop and you are peppered throughout that list.

  • I fucking love the inner voice thing. Totally captures what goes on inside.

  • @MaxineTheMad : ) oh, we're all so crazy. cheers to it. -b

  • haha love seeing this again! I like the part when you say "I wonder what i can do with this thing" and now your hoop flow has evolved into the most original style iv ever seen!

  • ; D thanks! xo

still wondering what to do with it. haha.

  • i love this..so rad. when do I get to hoop with you.

  • hey! ...idk. where you from? i'll be at hoop camp this year. i live in oakland, ca now.

  • How long have you been doing this?

  • hey. 'bout 5 years by now. i think i was at about 2 or so at that point

  • duuuude....the hooping is amazing! your flavaa is unique and un-stoppable!! but i'm laughing my AZZZ off with the convo and the cut outs!!!!! you always make me laugh! this is my new favorite Brecken vid ~ you rock!

  • This is awesome - I love the inner conversations with the change to personal viewpoints! It makes a great story from what would otherwise be just another hooping video. And the on-the-shoulders front + back is an awesome move - I've been struggling with that myself and can only get it on my back so far, so I recognize that inner dialogue - it feels like the script is coming straight from my head.

  • you are incredible... the hooper of the century!

hey what kind of music are you listening I like it, so relaxed!

  • @bubblegumyep

haha. hey! thanks, thanks. it's bassnectar. he's sick. look up his song "verbing the noun" too

  • Hot - so sensual. Wow. You move magnificently.

  • brekken you're amazing as always.

  • Random question: Do you tape your hoops?

  • LOL... love the inner dialogue... Yes frustration is part of the creative process as is perseverance. Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did. ~Newt Gingrich

Cheers to you Brecken and thank you for sharing insight to your creative process.

  • this is such a creative piece. inspiring and completely somethign to relate to. I think we all feel like that inside lol. thanks!

  • I love this video. I have even made my hubby watch it a few times. At first I was wondering wtf was going on... but then as the video progressed I completely identified with you!! You are amazing to watch. =)

  • brilliant. truly. :)

  • every single hooper will be able to relate to this. your amazing! and when your trying a new move that is that exact thought process i have. like "wait no, eeeeekkk, ok, breath and here it comes, BAM!, drop hoop. oops" thank you so much for this.

    alie.p :o)

  • hey. i know i'm so late to respond, but thanks for writing that. it's true, we all got congestion.

that's just about exactly the train of thought, too.

    : ) -b

  • BRAVO!!!!!

  • I love this video. It hits really close to home! So awesome!

  • AMAZING! Love that you applied a concept to your hoop video. Such insight and inspiration. keep it up! :)

  • Now this is surreal! I will have to watch again and again to understand the editing process. Ha, loved the I'm hungry" part. When I 'm hooping i always have to go to work and say only 2 more songs. I can totally relate to the inner voice.

  • this is how i imagine water would move if it were in human form. sooo seamless and natural

  • This is very beautiful. Thanks for sharing, brecken.

  • Your SO awesome. I love your thinking voices, you reminded me of my self when I hoop. same type thoughts. haha.

  • I love this. I especially love how your inner dialogue was not just one voice, but layers of niggling voices saying different, sometimes contrasting things. It's amazing how much we talk ourselves in or out of something without even realizing it consciously. It's also really nice to know that a hooper of your caliber still has the same thoughts during practice as I do when I feel like I'll never get the hang of a trick...

  • awesome video brecken! i love your moves and the concept! i think we fellow hoopers can all relate to your inner dialogue experience.

    becs

  • hi! cant wait till its warm and im watching you do this again in real life. sorry i lost you at all-good last summer. i wanted to hang out with you more... maybe next summer.

  • thank you so much this is f*!#ing insane i LOVE IT!!! you're so incredible!!! those shoulder passes are mind-blowing!!

  • UM! ridiculoussssssss amazing absolutely incredible.

    holy shit

    come to portland stat.

  • Your style touches a part of me that knows there is more to hooping than just spinning the hoop and performing tricks. I like when someone opens their heart and expresses themselves. Thank you!

  • oh man, thanks for that...yay! ...yea, i feel like the process of developing concentration and openness to new movements is the real challenge. Everything else is just time and muscle memory. ...and they have their place too, but it always seems best when tricks are more like intersections on a map that you try to develop enough roadways to eventually forget about. and that's...hard.

  • So awesome, I absolutely love it! You are totally badass, my very favorite hooper of all time! Keep up the great moves, great dancing, great flow, and please keep posting these vids.

  • what!? whoo. thanks, man. that's a crazy compliment. i never know whether or not to respond to people, otherwise i'll end up writing to everyone, but to that i had to. thanks.

  • this was so great to watch, i hope there will be more!!! :) x

  • absolutely genius! hilarious, inspiring, insightful and just generally badass. Glad to meet you, even if only for a few moments. Hope to jam more serious/playful -ly in the future.

  • Brilliant filming concept.

    Amazing moves.. Well done!!

  • this is f*$%king awesome! thank you for sharing such a personal hooping experience with us. opening up the ego for the world to see is no easy task. you are a bold woman. keep rocking on!!!

  • At 1:40 or so, you let it go from your shoulder sliding out to your hand! I love it! You are so creative. Thanks for sharing.

  • Hey Brecken, something special and sneaky tricky catches my eye around 53-55 seconds in. What the heck? It goes so fast! I think you got it on the diagonal on your neck, and possibly ducked out your head & shoulder, and hooped a rotation on your back?!!! I have watched it over and over and it eludes me each time! Beautiful dancing as well, by the way.

  • that was really fun to watch! Do you take classes? Or just teach your self?

  • wow, i love the trippy soundtrack with the whispers comming from yer head and all... it reminded me of watching you at all-good while i was shrooming. i hope yer there this year. smilin joe

  • You're amazing. how long have you been hoopdancing for?

  • thanks! this was in october, so just under 2 years at that point. but then i was only familiar with that particular hoop and nothing but, so i had a pretty good feel for it. since, i've been going a LOT smaller and it's almost like being forced to develop an entirely new style. baby steps i guess. thanks for the support

  • by now it's been just over 2 and a half years. That was in september though, so about an even 2 at the time this was posted.

  • You are amazing!

  • That was beautiful and amazing, Brecken!

    Love, Willow and Marty

  • Awesome! I loved this! All the mental processes.....awesome!

  • super artisitic, i love it!!!

  • This is brilliant on so many levels! Awesome shoulder move! Great capture of your hoop, although I haven't a clue how you did it. Hugs!

  • Your flow and grace is pure beauty. Wonderful dance, thank you.

  • breck-- i like your thoughts intertwined with you and your hoop. thanks for spreading your art and mind.

  • WoW!!!

    Incredible.

  • You are so beautiful, Breck.

    Love, Mom
