  • EXCELLENT!!

  • oorah

  • he is gorgeous

  • I wonderd if it is okey if I use the vid for a school project abaut how usefulll dogs are?

    It´s a great vid:)

  • Do you have to be an MP to be a dog handler?

  • Not any more. You can be infantry and be a dog handler. Its mostly like our SSDs which search off leash. they want do bite work but i have seen first hand what IDDs do. "not all IDDs" but some. They didnt look too hot. If you want quality dogs you should be in the 5800 field. If you have questions on this Ill be more than happy to answer questions.

  • Alright, thanks, sir.

  • yes

  • War Dogs (Vietnam) and War Dogs (Iraq) are so different in their training and deployment. IEDs, as nasty as they are, can be stretched out on roads that have good visibility for the team. In Vietnam, trails always held many explosive devices and ambushes in smaller, shorter distances. My dog cleared roads as well as trails, tunnels, caves and ammo caches in houses and huts. He also led me into an ambush here and there. Ask a Vietnam handler about "pucker factor" in an ambush!

  • In Vietnam, we were 0311 MOS (Infantry) and then you went to an Army school at Ft Benning to become 8672 MOS. Somewhere along the line, the MOS moved to the 5800 Military Police MOS from the Infantry. Our rear, in Vietnam, was 3rd MPBN and 1stMPBN so that might be the time period for the switch in MOS. MOS-Military Occupational Specialty. Those of us who went to Benning attained the additional MOS of 8672 (Scout Dog Handler). Sentry and Mine and Booby-trap handlers also trained in country.

  • Heros, all soliders, ALL of them doing the business are heros. May the wings of Liberty never lose a feather!

  • Nicely put. PROPS!

  • HAHA your an idiot!!!

  • I am joining the Marine Corps and want to be a 5812 as well. Is there any way I can get in contact with a Marine who currently holds a MOS of 5812? I want to hear what someone who's been in it for a while would tell someone who's interested in joining. Thanks!

    Semper Fi!

  • I have held that MOS for the past 8 years. Please feel free to shoot me an email. I can put you in touch with someone if you are inerested. You are not garenteed 5812. Hell you arent even garenteed 5811. they could give you corrections but it is well worth it just being a Marine.

  • damn this guy is hot...

  • Of course he is. Why else would Matt be interviewing him? I think he's got a thing for blondes. And no doubt he wishes he was at the end of that leash!

  • @swinghepcat totally agree with you there!!!!!

  • that is a BEAUTIFUL dog! thanks for serving in our military. :)

  • Is there a certain MOS that does dog handling or is it a special billet?

  • 5812 thats exactly what i told my recruiter dont do general military police cause then u really cant choose what u want and ull b disapointed

  • You're cute...almost all you marine guys are...

    :)
