  • Made biggest mistake in restarting and can never do as well a before :(

  • 32 years and still going. I refuse to restert.

    This game is crack

  • Gilly Bates!

  • i love this game, anybody know any similar game in pc? (so i can play this type of games with better graphics and spend more time lol)

  • im just curious....but do you age in this game?

  • @sso7199 Not specifically, but the game plays out over a limited period of time (15 years?) so it's not really a concern :)

  • @AppSpy wasnt that only for megamall story?

  • @AppSpy I downloaded this for my Android yesterday, and without realizing it, I had played four whole hours!

  • The game is almost perfect, but I wish they implemented some kind of "sequel" feature, in order to boost sales, but lower hype if we just milk the same franchise.

  • current capital: 6.3b

    max capital: 6.5b

    highest sales: 88m

highest initial week sales: 18-19m i think

63 ingame years in the making lol

  • How do you start a new game with all your genres?

  • lol I always get bad scores the the in game critics but I get high ass sales

  • Although the concept is downright genius and executed very well, it could've had more. It would've been pretty cool if you could also make arcade and home computer games, as well as have other consoles based from Sega, Nintendo, Atari, and others like the Vectrex, Intelivision, Colecovision, Wonderswan Color, Neo Geo Pocket and Color, and 3DO.

  • @vgmaster9 Color me confused, but I was fairly sure you could develop PC titles from the moment you begin the game and the reason why Vectrex et.al. aren't included is because the game starts after the video-game market crash when those consoles were buried under the weight of their shovelware. Also, the game is a port of the original 1996 title, so it was nice of them to update the game accordingly for modern audiences. GDS2 should be great, but it won't be out for a long time :(

  • @AppSpy Home computers were quite different from the PC. C64, Amiga, and MSX were different examples of those. Did you know that the Atari 7800 was still around after the video game crash? They could've then made something out of that, as well as the Lynx (Sphinx) and the Jaguar (Puma). They should've also done their own versions of the original Xbox and PS3. If there really would be a sequel, it should be on PC with a growing community.

  • @vgmaster9 I know what you're saying about the home computers, but it's ultimately splitting hairs at the point the game begins. And yes, the 7800 kicked around for a bit longer, but it was for all intents and purposes a relic. Also the XBOX and PS2 are in GDS unless I've completely blown a gasket, but usually by that point I've developed my own console that completely dominates the market ;)

  • @AppSpy It was shown that the original Xbox and PS3 were not in the list of consoles the game has.

  • bought it..love it.. bought it for like $0.99 :3 i HAD to buy it!

  • i love this game! anyone know any similar games??

  • I made a ninja game and it failed..who doesn't like ninjaz? :D

  • @FirelordZutara Put it in an action genre and you will sell a lot more

  • This isnt realistic, you cant mix shooter and war and make billions in a year...

  • @NbGclanchannel

    point?

  • this game is underrated

  • @donutplay $3.99 is expensive don't you think?

  • @Xephirox900 i didnt say go buy it, i was just pointing out that it's underrated, if you think it's too expensive for you then wait for the second one

  • @donutplay I'd rather wait for a holiday sale :D

  • @Xephirox900 whenever it is on sale, GET IT!! :D

  • You're not kidding! Its so addicting! I saw it on tested.com a month or two ago and the game visually did not sell me. I saw the sale, bought the game and once I knew my way around I was hooked lol

  • Will there be a possible sequel? I'd like to see more genres and more buildings to buy to expand the game comnpany :)

  • Anyone know of any killer combinations for good games?

  • @bubbles8joe8 The game mimics the real game industry - think of the combinations used for hit games and you'll be guaranteed some rather big hits :) Then again, it also helps to unlock as many categories and points for your developers to turn any game in to a worldwide hit ;)

  • @bubbles8joe8

I made a series of God Of Gay which was robot+shooter lol

  • This pwns on Android.

I made a Ninja Racing game callet Mortal KartBat :)

  • jizz my pants in excitement if game dev story 2 will be released

  • Anyone knows if this is coming for android?

  • @MythicDawn1337 Its out now ;)

  • How do you get A Bigger Store?

  • @CanCemo Once your company is doing well enough, you will get asked, i got asked around Y3 for the first upgrade

  • Dave, have you heard or watched the show CodeMonkey? Its a 8 bit tv show about a company gameavision (a parody of Activision). The two main characters of the show are Dave and Jerry. It's werid but funny.

You can watch the 1st and 2nd season online or on Netflix and tell me that both this game and the show are similar xD

  • can i play this on pc

  • @LEpicFails912

    Yes but its in japanese

  • This game is really fun, but really slow on ipod touch 1g.

    Anyways, some tips:

Hardware engineer can be get by leveling one guy to level 5 and then career change to EVERY career (final salary around 3.000K....).

Your own console can only be made when you have the 8 Staff places building (year 15?).

  • @Superleft7 I had to look this up myself - You need an employee that has level 5 in EVERY job type before hardware engineer appears. Given the scaling of their wages you'll be paying them 300-400k per year by the time you get them that high :) Then again, if you can afford it then you'll easily smash out the best console on the market ;)

  • @AppSpy My 'Playtendo360' made me so ridiculously rich I had to restart the game for more of a challenge :D

  • @AppSpy

i actually leveled a high paid expert to a Hardware Eng and have to pay him 14 Million a year. But yea once you make your own console, you start printing money.

  • @AppSpy lol

  • Look really weird Idk if I'll like it or not they should make a lite version

  • @fpsisfun If the replies to this video indicate anything it's that looks are very very deceiving :) GDS absolutely destroyed a week of my life and the only reason I'm not playing it now is because I have Fallout New Vegas to finish ;)

  • This game was soooo addictive. I thought it would be stupid. It takes all my focus not to go back to it, so I can do my work. You'll open it, thinking "I'll just play for an ingame year or develop one game," then you realize it's 4 in the morning and you've been playing for 5 hours.

  • Comment removed

  • im addicted but i have a 64gb itouch and have about 3800 songs and i only want a 120 of them so it kinda keeps freezing. maybe next you could do best combinations?

  • Very interesting game i bought it yesterday and so far has been the only game i have played since the purchase it is amazing one of the best business simulator out .. yes not just on the iphone . on any platform it is way past the worth of the 3.99 price so guys pick this one up and get ready to be simply... addicted!

  • @SilencedAssassian I'm already on to my second company and will soon be on to my third... damn game has me hooked :)

  • @AppSpy lol nice i got bored after 30 years though its a awesome game but just got bored of making beast games all the time hopefully they make a FREE add on with other things to do maybe even have a option to buy out companies and there products idk

  • @SilencedAssassian Oh yeah wow... or imagine if you could turn your studio in to a developer/publisher like Valve or create a proper MMO that actually provides cash over time but needs constant upkeep. So many things they could do in a sequel to deepen the gameplay :)

  • HOW THE HECK DO YOU GET CAPITAL, MONEY BEFORE YOU RELEASED UR GAME!

  • @iamacookiecow contracting.

  • @iamacookiecow Earlier in the game you'll be spending a lot of your time between games contracting - the game will say that you're losing your fan base if you take too long between games, but unless you're trying to spend too much on you'll get a new game out in no time. Also once you've finished the game you retain the development points you've earned, so it's much easier to make higher profits earlier on :)

  • Is this game only for the iphone? Because i downlaoded this game on the ipod touch and im addicted!

  • this game is so addictive and amazing!

  • Woah, being an indie gamedev this interests me a lot! Thanks for the review! :)

  • @dxstudiodawn Yeah you'll probably find it especially amusing - far from realistic, but amusing ;)

  • Me wants to try this as I'm a gamer and I like this idea :P

  • AWESOME!! If they update with some new UI, I'll jump for it!
