@andy4an Then you are really clueless, my friend.....you are missing the point....compositionally, progressively, individually one of the best tracks of all time, any genre....funky riffs, tension, comical satire, unbelievable musicianship, sad melody in section 4 (before the thong rind).....show me a sign, dude
Was in a birthing class in '76 at Cedars in W Hollywood. Gal mirroring breathing looked sooooo familiar. During break my wife (who'd gone to Julliard) talked w/her, I talked to her bass player hubbie.....then it hit me..."Chester's Thing ON RUTH" She looks over and sez:"You know that ?!" Wife says it was the only time she's ever seen me star struck. And I wassss...
One of the cases, where Frank puts his 1000 ideas in one great song without sounding disjointed! Mostly prefer his instrumental stuff, but this song really works! Gotta love that awesome riff and a freaked out athmosphere kinda matching the spaced-out album cover
the fooker's hard to beat, for sure. i loved it when he was testifying before Congress and talking to Al Gore. two people i like, on different sides. this album was released when i was in college the first time, and had an impact. if you have time to surf, look up FZ's appearance on the Tonight Show when Steve Allen was hosting it, with Frank playing a bicycle with the band backing him up!
@MBouffant Every guy with the name Glen that I've come across in my life, was either a schmuck or a dumb fuck! Interesting how the trend continues!LOL.
@Anyccka1 I guess it's no wonder the majority of the zappa fans around the world picked this album as their favorite amongst the 60+ albums that were released! Alot has to do with nap, duke, ruth etc. I pick 74-78 as zappa at his best all around from napy days thru bozzio to early colaiuta.
SOOOO true. ,this might sound as heresy to the Zappa cognoscenti, but after this ,it was almost all clever dicky stuff to my ears.
Most of these fanaticals find this a lazy album ,which they think (as the title says"One Size Fits All")Zappa dedicated to a mainstream rock audience.
Whell...if this is mainstream......let'stream for ever.

@fadethetrade I don''t know if I agree with that! I believe your information, but It really is impossible to rate his songs! For example, King kong and Inca roads. Inca will never be king kong and neither will king kong be inca roads! Who's anyone to say one is better? It all comes down to opinion! So i'd switch theses "bests" labels to "favourites"
