It's the interphone line that connects the headset to the airplane so we can communicate with the pilots. A few months back we were testing a wireless bluetooth powered system but they were useless.

Haha - they're 1 seater tugs so we can't give anyone a lift. Technically you can sit on the outside but management watches for that and loves to discipline people for doing it.

Airplanes cannot reverse themselves very well. It's noisy, dangerous, and uses a lot of fuel. So to get them out of the gate area, we push them out with a tug.
