  • wonderful K5LA AT 4:24

  • Excellent shave and haircut!

  • lol 4:35

  • Excellent club video! I am planning to visit family in Titusville in late November & early December 2011. Do you have any ops sessions going on at that time? I know my brother Ken (HO) and myself (N) would love to see it in operation!

  • Great layout!! What I like to do is take my dv camera and flip it upside down so that the lens is closer to the table, then edit it and flip it upside down. It loks very realistic

  • I used to hate N scale because it was so small. I was a huge HO scale fan. When I moved to my new house I didn't have the room for an HO scale layout so I ended up selling all of my HO scale trains. Now I have begun a new era in model railroading. I converted to N scale now Im a huge fan of N scale. Its amazing how much you can build on a 4x8 foot table. Im even going to enter my N scale layout in a model train show next year.

  • Piękne dzwięki.. :)

  • @MrRybniczanin Wdzięczności

  • I miss these things. I was building an N scale layout when I was younger, but I had to stop due to my mother's cancer. I hope to one day get back into it.

  • nice haul

  • what sound fx did you use?

  • Great sound effects. Did the sound come stock on train or did u add/change it?

  • This is an awesome video, I really apprieciate it when modellers take the time to do N scale right. Fine work, love the sound track also.

  • i have a 6 ft by 2.6ft table that i would like to start a desert scene could i do it? it will be a summer project

  • hey, that's great- a 14-year-old who's into greek mythology...

  • did you use any kato engines?

  • whoa.... its the swayze express.

  • A great video and an excellent layout...

  • Love to Doppler effects!

  • Very nicely shot and edited. Great job!

  • WOW

  • All too real… real awesome, real cool, thanks

  • flawless editing...and the '''shave and a haircut?......awesome''.....

  • I enjoyed every bit of the video. Just amazed on how well you put the sounds together. I also enjoy NSCALEFUN. The horn at the end is perfect.

  • Hard to beleive this is N scale. Great scenery and equipment

  • That was just amazing. Nice work.

  • man there's no good clubs like this in Bham, Al...even if there was I doubt i'd get in (I just started my layout and only have one train running right now :( )

  • I never saw a video like this of a N track with so much details.

    Especially the sound!

Thank you guys for this amazing video I really enjoyed it.

  • N-scale is the right scale!!

  • Perfect timing on the audio!!!!

  • theres an orlando N-trak? huh, we have a winnipeg N-trak!

  • What kind of track do you reccomend?

  • Awesome! I would never be able to have enough space on a HO layout to make that length of train.

  • that's freakin' awsome. i wish there could be a club up here in albany NY where i could get involved in. but the members say we don't want a 14 year old kid who only likes video games. and these are the guys who find out that i wan't to learn some more about scenery they say we just drink coffee all day!!! hippocrates!!!!!!

  • @operationlifesvr2010 that's too bad they didn't even give you a chance. At our club our youngest member is in the 8th grade and he does excellent scenery work! At our ops sessions he even does some dispatching too!

  • @WhistlepostWP im in 6th grade and imn tryin to get into the ho scale club in orlando

  • @WhistlepostWP Is this Orlando FL?

  • @operationlifesvr2010 Then that club, my good sir, is fail.

  • @operationlifesvr2010 Wow, I kinda got rejected for being 15/16. I like... paint custom loco's, and make pretty sick track layouts, but naaa. they dont let me in. they say Im another punk. like wth.

  • @operationlifesvr2010 Tell me about it Trains of ocala down here in central florida said the same thing. But I might get involved in Citrus model railroaders

  • @operationlifesvr2010 that must suck here in Winnipeg Canada we have a Ntrack club and they want me to join and i was 12 when i approached them

  • @operationlifesvr2010 that´s just dumb im 16 and going to join a club in sweden and i hope they are not like those guys :/ and i´ve read about the club and the smallest kid in that club is just 6 (i think) but he just drives the trains. and yet i don´t like that attitude on thoes guys you are talking about. too bad :( hope you find a better club to join :)

  • @operationlifesvr2010 That really sucks!! My club welcomes anyone who wants to learn and participate. Our youngest member is 10 and he absolutely LOVES doing scenery work and learning about operations!

  • @operationlifesvr2010 - The NWV in Essex Vermont has a mission to pass the art and craft of model railroading to the next generation. In our group parents and children join for one price. The next generation of modelers is the future of our hobby.

  • @operationlifesvr2010 I know exactly how you feel. I was rejected at my local club too.

  • @operationlifesvr2010 We older model railroaders need to encourage kids like you, not exclude them.

  • @Hendo56 thats right, how do they expect to keep a club running and attract new members if they push the "kids" away?

  • well done with the sounds. But the first train goes from left to right and the sound from right to left ;) Why do trains in the US always honk?

  • Wonderful stuff! I must say, though, that the fluorescent lighting is not doing the look of your excellent scenery any favours.

    Thanks for the video.

  • SO nice. I love trains, love love love!!!!!!!! Great n real video. But I collect Japanese trains, can you tell me where can I find JR crains fanclub???

Thanks for good video,, I enjoyed waching dis)

  • The tunnel scene at approx. 3:40 was superb in the quality of the scenery, and the scene showing the industrial building in the background 1:35 was what I have been looking for. That sawtooth roof building looks like it could be a first-rate wire mill or nut and bolt shop.

  • Realistic!

  • do you railfan?if so where at?

  • Nice video! :)

  • How do you make the grasses, molds, and trackbed stones intact so they are not moved around? I have the N Guage Scenic Ridge layout and have not yet found a proper way to keep these parts sticking to the layout.

  • Very good layout =)

  • definitely one of the best layouts ive seen. great catch with the horn at the end lol. great scenery and great realistic sound effects. and great combinations on the trains. awesome job... 5 stars!

  • definitely one of the best layouts ive seen. great catch with the horn at the end lol. great scenery and great realistic sound effects. and great combinations on the trains. awesome job... 5 stars!

  • i loved that last horn in the video where'd you find an engineer like him

  • @lolz976 The audio was taken from an actual Amtrak F40 back in the early 1990s. We ended up chasing the train from downtown Memphis TN to the suburbs and the engineer rewarded us with a horn salute for catching him the 2nd time.

  • @WhistlepostWP do you have the video of the whole chase?

  • @lolz976 if i were an engineer, i will do that to EVERY railfan or guy with a camera that I see!

  • Holy Sh*t dude I love how you put real life train sounds into your vids. amazing. =]

  • great sound . nice layout .

  • wow thats an ace layout and sooooo many carraiges. very realistic sounds to especialy the horns. ace 10 out 10

  • that is an amazing layout and your lucky to have the many cars i dont even have half that many :-)

  • the last amtrak train was really cool.

  • nice video

  • fantastic layout and video

  • awesome i like the way the amtrak blew its horn at the end lol

  • Nice work on the sound synchronization! It's nice to see an N scale railroad that runs well.

  • Nice liked the horn sound on the dcc trains

  • Modern locomotives with old time cars thats cool.

  • What is ur layout modeled after?

  • AWESOME! Thank you Orlando for sharing this. I had to watch twice.

  • Was the Amtrak already equipped with dcc or did you have to install a decoder

  • Perfect audio/video sync!

  • That was the coolest video ever

  • thanks. glad you liked it!

  • its much more realistic to watch trains go by a track level than to watch them from above

  • i love it. great layout

  • HOW DID YOU GET THE SOUND??? awesome!!!!

  • I think you could have been a bit lower on several of the shots, but that's a fun video to watch (:

  • I prefer N-Scale over any other scale. HO is alright. Z Is way to small. And O Is way to big.

  • not a big fan of n-scale but this layout is pretty awesome.

  • Same here. N scale has become a high quality scale. The "toy junk" days are over. N scale means long trains, wide curves, realistic track-to-scenery ratio and a lot of railroading in small spaces. I also like the size of N scale rolling stock and structures. Just right.

  • the sounds really give it the "real" effect

  • it sounds just like the real thing i cant believe it.

  • nnnnnnnnnnnniiiiiiiiiiiiiccccccccceeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Wait, is this by Colonial Photo and Hobby

  • There's just something about a train !

  • the sound effects are so realistic!

  • i looove this video! like the recordings for it!

  • Awesome layout *****

  • nice layout like them trains you were running building a layout of my own but mine wont even compared to this good job

  • im buying that amtrak! Literally for $270

  • Very realistic with the sounds. 5*

  • I really loved your authentic rolling stock sounds, thats whats always the hardest to match up. for example I noticed when your train was going over a crossing the wheel noises were correct as Ive ever heard. One thing I always disliked about N compared to HO is its harder to get the smoothness in N. Yours was very good, but I realize in N you simply have to have quality engines if you want any kind of realistic low speed performance. Congrats on a great layout, I know its a lot of work.

  • @yambo59 If you want low speed performance all you really need is the PWM in your controller. All DCC units have it of course, but when you have the block system with DC, you need to ditch the controller and build a Pulse Width Modulating motor control. I can make the cheapest Bachmann engine do a crawl.

  • @yambo59 Manufacturers like Kato and Atlas Gold are the go-to manufacturers for quality engines. Atlas and Kato track are also great but with Kato you have limited variety...

  • Love those Amtrak Superliners at 0:45. That was long one. Great Layout.

  • Nice layout!

  • nice

  • nice f40p at at 3:45

  • Comment removed

  • Extravagent layout guys!!!. I have an N scale layout that is under construction that is no where near as fine in detail and quality then your layout. 10 stars!!!!

  • Awesome Awesome*****

  • Nice vid! I love those sounds a lot, and the horn is perfect and so realistic on the Amtrak genesis, as well as on the other locos.. and the bells too! As well as the sound for the train going by.. man, these are some of the nicest model trains I've seen.

  • At 3:50 your Amtrak kinda stuttered, but was barely visible. Excellent work, though! And nice Shave and a Haircut bit.

  • yup. dirty track...

  • i love the horn at 4:36 never heard it in a looooong time.

  • Excellent video, nice trains, great sound, 5*****+favorites. It´s incredible the realism of this scale, combined with real sounds give one of the best N scale videos ever!.

  • Great trains..

  • Impressive.

  • Nice trains, good sound. I´m lovin´N scale. 4:37 was funny. One question: What is the locomotive that appears at 1:17 , 1:37 and 4:04 ? It looks like Super 7

  • I believe its the B40-8 that is mentioned in the tags.

  • Y A Y!

  • 5*****

  • nice sound effects

  • Comment removed

  • where'd you get the rio grande engines?

  • awesome job on the mountain i'm very impressed

  • The sound dubbing is so accurate and matches the variety of locomotives. This really makes the video more fun to watch. Thanks for posting. Happy modeling!

  • AWESOME JOB !! KICK AZZ !!

  • Awesome Layout! Nice colllection of power and rolling stock too!

  • Where did you get the sound from???

  • can i ask a silly question? How do you create the raised pieces of scenery? I have a teeny weeny n guage layout (check out my vids to see what it looks like) and I need to add scenery now. I was thinking of going space age and vac forming some pieces at school, but I'm sure its pretty simple.

    Cheers

  • depends, plaster is always a good choice

but styrefoam is also great for n-scale layouts

but i dont recomend paper mache, it compresses when drying and can tweak track plans

  • what kinda track????

  • N-trak modules are code 80. The permanent layout is code 55...

  • Are those KATO P42s at :47 and do they come with ditch lights that flash like that? How are they activated? Fantastic work guys!

  • Yes, the P42's are kato. The flashing ditchlights were installed by one of our club members. When people want their locomotives or rolling stock upgraded with sound decoder's and lights, they go to him...

  • Awesome layouts, I remeber in Indianpolis there was a Muesem that had a whole top floor w/ nuthin but trains..my Fav spot in the joint

  • interesting. I wonder if I went there too back in the day. I remember when Indianapolis Union Station use to have a nice train store in it. I really like that downtown area.

  • nicely done the sound sounds perfect

  • Very nice layout, equipment, and sound work! I'd love to be a part of something like that. My layout is at a complete standstill now that I'm in college, and I have no place to run my trains.

  • I know exactly what u mean! I joined the club cause I didn't have space for a layout either...and yeah, college seems to be taking away more of my time everyday too!

  • Even if there's no traditional club locally, you could look for an NTrak club, mmj. I was a founding member of a club that's still going strong almost 20 years later.

(My only disappointment is that the club shies away from having established standards of modeling, and the modules are a real hodge-podge of good, bad & ugly.)

Anyway, there's room in most student dorms for a 2x4 module, and you get to run long trains!

  • wow what a realistic model, nice job

  • One of the best nTrak layouts I've seen! Good camera work too.

Vert effective sound dubbing as well...

    5 Stars!

  • hey im interested in those atlas dash 8s. how do they run?

  • how do you dub your train vids?? cause when i get my layout finished ima dub my vids dcc is just to expensive

  • easy, get a video on a real train w/ sound and then run your model train at the same scale speed with the same engines and cars etc.

  • They run good. Blwnscale has modest prices on their site.

  • yea i saw but they'll blast you with sales tax

  • Heh, I almost thought they were the sounds from the model until I read the info.

  • ha that is funny

  • haha love the horn at 4:38

  • nice job

  • freakin sweet

  • Long AMtrak at 1:oo

  • shave and haircut by last amtrak

  • small trains-- big sound

  • Amazing....Been in N scale for 30 years...top of the line audio and sound sync...can you tell me more about the recording of the trains..sounds like im sitting track side

  • Great video, but I do wish it was longer. The good news is you've provided me with inspiration for my own model railroad project. Thank you.

  • nice

  • This is one of the top model railroad videos on YouTube!!

  • wow u got some nice sounds looks and sounds extrmely real

  • nice whistle

  • Wow! This is neat stuff!! Great job on the sounds!!

  • Nice work! Love all the CSX power.

  • Really great!! You did well with the sound.

  • are those mostly kato and atlas?

  • All of the Amtrak stuff and the CSX sd70's are kato. The b40-8's are atlas. The freight cars I'm not sure.

  • is this open to the public?

  • Yes. 7:30pm on Wednesday nights. See my homepage for a link to the Orlando N-trak Club's website for more details...

  • ok thx

  • VERY nice video work guy's,,,, as a fellow N scaler I sure wish there were something like this in my town....

  • Very nice....

  • ya i only use n-scale

  • Read the 'about this video' section. It says the sound is dubbed.

  • Ive seen videos of HO scale where the modeler actually put little speakers in the cab section of the loco

  • Very nice sound!

  • awesome k5la horn on the model trains including amtrak and csx

  • Dude that soooooooooooooooo real its like you are wacthing a real train and like the horn at the end of the video 5 ***** ALL THE WAY DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
