Excellent club video! I am planning to visit family in Titusville in late November & early December 2011. Do you have any ops sessions going on at that time? I know my brother Ken (HO) and myself (N) would love to see it in operation!
Great layout!! What I like to do is take my dv camera and flip it upside down so that the lens is closer to the table, then edit it and flip it upside down. It loks very realistic
I used to hate N scale because it was so small. I was a huge HO scale fan. When I moved to my new house I didn't have the room for an HO scale layout so I ended up selling all of my HO scale trains. Now I have begun a new era in model railroading. I converted to N scale now Im a huge fan of N scale. Its amazing how much you can build on a 4x8 foot table. Im even going to enter my N scale layout in a model train show next year.
I miss these things. I was building an N scale layout when I was younger, but I had to stop due to my mother's cancer. I hope to one day get back into it.
man there's no good clubs like this in Bham, Al...even if there was I doubt i'd get in (I just started my layout and only have one train running right now :( )

The tunnel scene at approx. 3:40 was superb in the quality of the scenery, and the scene showing the industrial building in the background 1:35 was what I have been looking for. That sawtooth roof building looks like it could be a first-rate wire mill or nut and bolt shop.
How do you make the grasses, molds, and trackbed stones intact so they are not moved around? I have the N Guage Scenic Ridge layout and have not yet found a proper way to keep these parts sticking to the layout.
definitely one of the best layouts ive seen. great catch with the horn at the end lol. great scenery and great realistic sound effects. and great combinations on the trains. awesome job... 5 stars!

@lolz976 The audio was taken from an actual Amtrak F40 back in the early 1990s. We ended up chasing the train from downtown Memphis TN to the suburbs and the engineer rewarded us with a horn salute for catching him the 2nd time.
Same here. N scale has become a high quality scale. The "toy junk" days are over. N scale means long trains, wide curves, realistic track-to-scenery ratio and a lot of railroading in small spaces. I also like the size of N scale rolling stock and structures. Just right.
I really loved your authentic rolling stock sounds, thats whats always the hardest to match up. for example I noticed when your train was going over a crossing the wheel noises were correct as Ive ever heard. One thing I always disliked about N compared to HO is its harder to get the smoothness in N. Yours was very good, but I realize in N you simply have to have quality engines if you want any kind of realistic low speed performance. Congrats on a great layout, I know its a lot of work.

Nice trains, good sound. I´m lovin´N scale. 4:37 was funny. One question: What is the locomotive that appears at 1:17 , 1:37 and 4:04 ? It looks like Super 7
The sound dubbing is so accurate and matches the variety of locomotives. This really makes the video more fun to watch. Thanks for posting. Happy modeling!
can i ask a silly question? How do you create the raised pieces of scenery? I have a teeny weeny n guage layout (check out my vids to see what it looks like) and I need to add scenery now. I was thinking of going space age and vac forming some pieces at school, but I'm sure its pretty simple.
Yes, the P42's are kato. The flashing ditchlights were installed by one of our club members. When people want their locomotives or rolling stock upgraded with sound decoder's and lights, they go to him...
interesting. I wonder if I went there too back in the day. I remember when Indianapolis Union Station use to have a nice train store in it. I really like that downtown area.
