  • omg at first i thought the voice belonged to bernadette peters

  • I want to watch this movie again. It's a very important part of my childhood.

  • I like Seymore's part best in this song... too bad I'm a chick and can't sing that part if I were in the musical... I'll sing it by myself! :)

  • ynuiboy69 how do you notice those things? x3

  • 3:17 zombiiiieeees!!!

  • down on skid!

  • My school's musical when I was 16

  • @xekhara my school's musical now! I got Ronnette.!!

  • No... the black guy at 2:00 is EPIC

  • @djwelbaum thats what made me find this on youtube. This song randomly popped into my head and when i got to his part i was like 'ok i gotta find this on youtube' love that part lol

  • Best damn song in movie history. If not... take yo ass down town

  • Comment removed

  • Audrey has some epic tits

  • 2:00 best part

  • @ggLover87 The person singing there is the same person who plays the Audrey II, Levi Stubbs.

  • DOWN ON SKID!!!!

  • @ 0:58, that's Alan Tilvern who played R.K. Maroon from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

  • who is that incredible singer that opens the song, reminds me of sophia from the color purple every time I see it.

  • @lavvy2585 The woman you see is not the singer. It was dubbed. Michelle Weeks, who plays Ronnette (one of the three do wop girls) did the opening. She IS great.

  • @jackychanman

Stop it you are blowing my mind. They dont even sound the same are you sure?

  • @lavvy2585 Her name is Michelle Weeks

  • Comment removed

  • This is one of the most, if not THE most, powerful song in the whole movie.

  • !!!!!!!!!

  • i did the play little shop of horrors at my theatre school

  • 1:59 YAAAHHH!

  • @chudyie Hey! I like that lady! She's got some great vocals and you get a legitimately PISSED OFF feeling from her!

  • It may be rose-colored glasses, but boy do I miss VHS and cartridges.

  • Fovortie song in the movie (:

  • :D doing this song in the group im in, watching this has really helped :)

  • MW2

  • we're doing this song in musical theatre at the moment, absolutely love it.

  • Omgomgomgomg! The audio on this is perfect<33

  • the girl have fake breast?

  • The guy at 2:00 is definatley fustrated his vocal talent only got him 3 words in the song, abd the boy who appears at 4:01 looks like he's possesed by the devil

  • @ynuiboy69 I would've given the guy at 2:00 more parts. He sounds great! He's my favorite part of the song. ^_^;

  • @Kittymouth his voice is THE reason i remember this very song, love all the LSOH songs, but this one especially

  • @Kittymouth They actually did give him more parts. Not in this song though, in the Audrey Two songs. He's Levi Stubbs :P

  • @ynuiboy69 I'm sure I read somewhere that the man at 2:00 is the voice of Audrey2

  • @deviouswun Yes. It's Levi Stubbs, also from The Four Tops.

  • This is THE song that opened my mind up enough to appreciate musicals. I am grateful for that!

  • 0:00 for everybody looking for the replay button

  • This film amazes me now as much as it did when i was a kid

  • does anyone else see the micheal jackson looking guy by audrey at the end

    we miss you michael

  • 3 people live uptown

  • This is probablye the best song from the musical, followed by the intro, dentist song and don't feed the plants.

After hearing this wonderful and tragic song, I don't know how you guys would prefer an ending where everyone dies (just to be darker and edgier?). I've actually only seen the musical (not the movie) and I didn't like the ending.

  • @oantonio255

Well, the movie was edited a bit to make it lighter. The original version was a bit darker and the dark ending was hinted at.

I normally like darker endings, but sometimes they don't work. Rick Moranis is too likable in this to justify it. Another example of a dark ending that doesn't work is Clerks. It originally ended with the main character being murdered in a robbery. Which would have ruined the entire movie.

  • my school is doing this musical during 8th period i always here this song

  • Second best song after the dentist song.

  • @TommieLovesEmilie Good Luck

  • WHY ARE YOU GONE REPLAY BUTTON! T_T

  • @TommieLovesEmilie good luck

  • God Damn! Who knew Rick Morranis could sing? And extremely well!

  • love this song :) <3

  • This one seems a tad bit faster...

  • god i love this sog

  • WHO IS THE GUY @2:00 ??

  • @shashaaaa Danny john jules

  • 1:50

    "Where relationship's a nigga!"

  • Is this sped up?

  • For such a campy story, Little Shop has some wonderful music. The whole production has a lot of heart.

  • this movie is epically cheesey, and I love it! If you like Panic! at the Disco Brendon and Dallon did this cover and it was beautiful!

  • flawless

  • I can listen to Bertice Reading's, the old woman in the beginning, part over and over...her other recordings don't sound the same though...but I love this part she sings.

  • @misstique08 thank you for posting that!!!!! i've been searching for a while now for that woman(bertice readings)!!! her voice is amazing and i heard her other songs but they dont really catch my ear. do u know if she sings slower, more soulful, songs like this???? every song i saw was fast and upbeat =(

  • @sirfluffy91 She was born 1933...She died june 8, 1991. ...The other songs don't catch my ear either...only other one I can endure a little bit is called "lean on me"...she was younger when she sang part of this song "skid row"

  • im doing this for my yaer6 production

  • that girl at the beginning singing just scrambles my guts. and im a metal guitar player. lol

  • I love this movie no matter how old it is. !!!!!!

  • @poohbears10 I've loved this movie ever since I was a kid. <3

Besides, it has Gina and Pam from Martin in a retro chorus. Oh, yes.

  • Im pretty picky about my musical theatre..but I give that HIGH marks....so real to my parents & grandparents generations.

  • Someone tell lady luck that I'm stuck here

  • i live uptown :)

  • favorite song

  • Can't get this song out of my head! I start singing this song, then my friends hear me and feel compelled by some unseen force to seen with me. Then we're singing it all day, then all week, and all month...

  • best movie ever xx peace

  • I've recorded this from a VHS!

Probably it has some imperfection! ^^

  • @Emafreddie85 Isn't that illegal?

  • @Emafreddie85 WHUT? THIS is from VHS? The quality is amazing, could be mistken for a DVD rip. Also, thank you for the post; love this song :)

  • @Emafreddie85 got the best quality sound so far of the channels I've seen

  • @Emafreddie85

Only problem with this recording is the fact that it isnt the one from the movie...and if it is you got a hold of a video with this song in a different key lol if you listen carefully the voices don't sound quite the same(at least I think so)...other than that the video is fine...there's a version that sounds right posted by LittleShop3824

  • i think the voices are a little higher here than they are in the movie... or the sound is sped up slightly, or something.

  • Probably one of the few remakes that are better than the original films.

  • 1 person doesn't want to get out of skid row

  • Put this on to practice for my schools production of it only in the Chorus though hopefully I won't scuff up :)

  • @pinklady118118 Our school Is doing a production too

  • if i was seymour and ppl started climbing up a fence like that I would scream and run away AND call the police

  • who knew when i was playin this song at twelve years old that by the time i was thirty three i'd be living it. GEE IT SURE WOULD BE SWELL TO GET OUTTA HERE. BID DA GUTTAH FAIRWELL AND GET OUTTA HERE.

  • I love this song to death, though this (and Audrey's own Somewhere That's Green) always break my heart whenever I think of the ending in contrast.

I mean, yeah, the movie's ending is different... but it's not the *real* one, so it doesn't really count, does it?

  • If you lived in this City and you couldnt sing, You'd be a total outcast.

  • @ConnahNewtonHere LMFAO

Epic win of a comment 8)

    down town cuz it's dangerous

downtowm where the rainbow just a no show

  • i love the musical and the video, but audrey's voice... blech... i like the broadway audrey better

  • haha the wee woman at 1:56 her face sooo funny

  • In school we did a theatre workshop to perform this play and I (I´m playing seymour) stayed in a room with orin and the masochist and they stayed up half the night singing "OH! I started life as an orphan, child on the street, here on SKID ROAD!!! yes they turned skid row into skid road and although it drove the whole theatre group crazy that night at 4 in the morning the skid road became our insider joke within 1 day xDD

  • Comment removed

  • i never knew rick moranis has such a pretty voice

  • @smackaggie Congrats!

  • well Skid row, obviously is a very musical place, so if things go well for them, it could made into a production!!!

  • 4:02 Look! in the bottom right corner! it's Zak Dingle from Emmerdale! :)

  • The woman at the begining has an amazing voice!

  • @hardcoresince1988 Voiced over by a famous gospel singer. Info on DVD extras.

  • sing it child, im serious i want a child to sing not an old lady

  • every time I see that actor all I can think of him as is a nerd, from Ghostbusters or honey I shrunk the kids. It's unusual that he doesn't play a brianeac. I love him, because I'm a nerd too, so I can totally relate to him. It's odd to see him in a diffrent role entirely.

  • GUYS I HAVE IMPORTANT NEWS - SKID ROW SONG!

When I was young I had the VHS and rewound this song soo much that I ruined the tape lol but I have to tell you all something about the Black dude with the soulful voice 2,30. its not actually his voice!! On my VHS it was a white man wearing gay leathers who sang that part! When I broke the video I brought another to be shocked to see it had been replaced with the black guy!!! They removed it! (Hence his voice doesnt even sync!) Someone must have it?!

  • LOVE THIS MOVIE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!

  • the old lady who starts the song has 1 powerful voice

  • 1 person has no taste in music :/

  • Matthew Broderick is at 1:57! Cool to see him so early in his career.

  • @amazinggarrett1 I don't think that's him, it looks like him, but he seems too old in this for when it came out.

  • @amazinggarrett1 lol thats not mathew broderick

  • @amazinggarrett1 That is not Matthew Broderick... He was already acting by this point!

  • the guy with the soul in his voice at 2:02 sounds like spongebob wen he was singing a krusty krab pizza lol

  • isnt it skid road? not skid row

  • @bubblewishful it's Skid Row, my friend. Much of the movie is based upon the desperate need to escape from Skid Row.
