@Typhoon10000 Yeah Flashback is one of my old favorites too. I have it for pc but I can't seem to get it to run correctly(no sound) on windows 7 even with dosbox and whatnot.
@pcgheroes Does dosbox have working sound with other games? Do you have a fb.cfg in your Flashback program directory? Does fb.cfg have a "BLASTER" line that agrees with what dosbox expects? The only way I can get FB to *not* have sound running on dosbox(with default settings) here, is to delete or misconfigure fb.cfg. Of course, you may have a different version of Flashback.
@yadabub Yeah, I use dosbox a lot and usually have no problem configuring it for games. I have the flashback cd. I haven't tried to run it since earlier this year. I don't remember messing with any fb.cfg file though. I'll check it out the next time I try to run it.
I didn't know there was incidental music on the SNES version. We had the PC. I guess it has a lot to do with how you experienced it the first time, because I'd prefer it just feel quiet. Adds to the feeling of isolation for me, and made me pay attention to the environment.
UBIsoft went back on their DRM, I heard. Not sure what's there now, if anything.
Why do I recognise the music having never played it on the SNES? Perhaps it was also in another version too? Strange that it's not in the PC version at all, I'm personally used to just the atmospheric sounds.
Great review! I used to play this way back when on the Amiga.

Sure, he has a ferrari and an underground lab- but on the down side he has a competitive nemesis, who has a crush on his annoying sister.
