  • Unfortunately these containers only bio-degrade in an industrial composting facility where conditions (temp, oxygen, humidity) are kept at optimal levels. Buried in a landfill devoid of light, oxygen etc these containers will not bio-degrade, similar to newspapers and hotdogs from the 1970s that are found at the bottom of landfills. If you want to make a change in this way try dining-in at restaurants that wash thier dishes or brining your own reusable containers.

  • Everyone should send this to their favorite restaurant!

  • Who on earth would care if things were 50c more expensive...

  • AWSOME!

  • honestly we have to do more than just talk about it....

  • Its crucial we take this stuff seriously and cause the change we need to see in the world

  • Brilliant, but I heard that some of these containers are made from corn, but GMO corn...!! sooo it would be good to NOT use GMO corn

  • Because eating raw food makes you conscious. Eat Raw Organic Food

  • I hadn't known there was such a thing as bio-degradable containers before watching this video.

  • this has to be done....do we have a choice....I don't think so.

  • this video was awsome. I think that raising the price is only a step that if it has to be taken then do so like i have said before i want to live in this world (the way it is or better, not worst)

  • Vote Ron Paul for president and things will get better !

  • Thank you so much for the information! I had no idea that biodegradable take out containers existed. I am so impressed with this video, and, I am so interested in bringing the concept into fruition in my community.

  • USA ITS GONE GO TO HELL

  • I cant say it enough, thank you for making this video but most of all; ASKING QUESTIONS!!!!! America is out of control (and brain washed), we are so sheltered from the reality of our existence. Our American Government is obviously not going to be changing any time soon because they have too much money invested in the way things currently are. it has to start with the people who keep this country going, the working class. its time to think differently, wake up America!

  • I believe that if people who care about the environment would be willing to reduce their meat intake, especially when they realize that raising over 260 billion animals for food each year requires lots of land for crops and pastureland--not to mention the pollution! It's all about making better choices!

  • If you eat-out, bring your own damn containers. Try it, you'll feel proud as you hand them across the counter. Even green products take energy and water to make then there's shipping. The soil erosion rate that takes place under modern large-scale corn and sugar cultivation is over 100's the rate of soil formation. America has already lost half its fertile topsoil. Better to use your own reusable containers.... grow your own food, compost, slow down, enjoy.

  • vend: That's true, but some people just don't care. For them, it's better that they get handed the biodegradable containers than the evil ones.

  • great all around except for that huming music cue that sounds like somone is trying to use Devotchka without paying royalties, it is SERIOUSLY ANNOYING. PLEASE choose a different music cue!

  • The trash makes it to the trash, the recyclables to the recycling container(sometimes) and the recycling process is aweful.

  • Suuure...project 11th hour coming to a city near you...check it out, I'll just do the research, the most simple ability now that every person in society has access to the internet with language options. Each container has a recycling code stamped if not, may not be recyclable...so, what I do is eat little, (ha), and be sure every piece of trash makes it to the trash container...in the city I live, recycling isn't done often enough by upperclass men and women.

  • Hey people,

Welcome to Postmodern Times, a series of short animated films presenting new ideas about global consciousness and techniques for social and ecological transformation. Our first episode, "Toward 2012", introduces the project

  • It is more important to look at what is being consumed than what kind of materials are used. What causes more damage to the environment--the styrofoam/plastic/paper or the burger? The video was good, but skipped over the most important issue--they went to a vegan, organic restaurant and did not even mention that raising and consuming animals causes C02, Nitrous oxide and Methane gases which contribute even more to global warming than what we drive!

  • If you go to a website called Vegetarian Solutions (org, not com) you can play an enviromental game. It shows that we need to change WHAT we eat and reduce our meat intake if we REALLY want to help save the planet.

  • I agree, one step at a time though!

  • Folks won't willingly go meat free, but they will go Styrofoam free if given a choice. I think it is a great idea to give that choice.

  • Its the way to go if we want a sustainable planet

  • Where is the next part

  • This is a fabulous video. More people need to make this info available to the public. Pass it around. People need this information.

  • Now this is progress... BRAVO

  • "Disposable Nation" ... good point.

  • Utensils made from corn... brilliant!

  • i've always wanted to know why more businesses don't go green! great reporting! and the mini music breaks! priceless!
