@fcuk4220 And that's his fault? A sub is a sub. Know the rules, and play them to your advantage to win. Knee bars are legal in the tourneys he competes in. The guys he's up against know this. It's their job to escape it. Not his job to find a different submission.

I may be wrong but its far easier to suffer a long term damage injury from attacks on the knee and legs in general. It is sometimes considered that people below purple belt may not have the full knowledge, control and respect for the damage they can cause, or will be caused to them if they don't react (tap) fast enough.

Good video, had to skip the intro but some of the transitions were fantastic.

@TheEbopallday Yes, The thing with leg locks is that there is a very thin line between reasonable pain and actual break/torn/pop of the leg, differently from other type of subs. Most BJJ tournaments (specially in Brazil) do not allow leg locks in white, blue and purple. However ankle -straight leg lock- locks are allowed in blue and purple, the rest of the leg locks are left for brown and black belts. Heel hook is totally banned no matter the belt color. But don´t get me wrong Matt fights great
