I totally remember that... we would yell...number number so we could call the people back. There were more then 3 families though. See I am going thru your vids. :)
I couldn't hear a word you said, because the door was not perfectly centered behind you.;0P
I didn't have a party line, but my Mom had old rotary phones with those little clear button things on the phone hook. When I was a teenager, I became a master of speed dialing on the rotary phone. lol
I don't know if we had the party line, but my grandma used to talk about theirs.
And she was definitely not one to come into the present century very easily. She had the rotary phones, even when they came out with the push buttons. She requested the rotary from the phone company. And they were clear, the push downy things.
oh the party line. I know a few neighbors that were so glad when we decided to pay more for a private line. There's Agnes; the figment of your imagination again. :)
Oh, and my doc and another specialist said I had OCD tendencies. One of my military clients said I was a worse Type A than he was. What does this say 'bout me??? I gotta get to Fiji.
You have Farrah Fawcett hair today; lookin' lovely. My grandmother told me about messing with people with the party line telephone system back in the day.
OMG the memories! When I was 10-11(I'm 46) we had a party line and the lady down the street was having a not so discreet affair and I use to listen in on her phone conversations!
Don't apologise Snark!! If they don't like your kitchen cabinets well..... so what! haha! I'm so glad you are back making videos! Yeah when I married my husband we moved up a hollow that had a party line. I'd never experienced that before and it just sucked! haha. "Get off the phone---NO, you get off the phone!" Eh, you know what I mean. LOL
OMG! I lived in the country when i was young and we had a party line phone. It was 2 longs and a short ring. But that didn't last long, my parents switched it over to a private line.
I imagine there would be alot of gift shops in Fiji. You have to whisper but ya don't mind rolling around in the grass with Agnes for all to see? Not OCD maybe a lil ADD? I'm not trying to pick on ya just sayin.
You are one of the only people with nearly 10 minute videos that I like to watch. Other people's log videos are boring, but you, snark, your epics are just wonderful. And I think you should be able to have cabinets open anytime you want.
You are so funny with the OCD stuff-I have a sister with a bit of that in her-I would so move her stuff around on her coffee table and just watch her HAVE to move it back-Oh I had so much fun with stuff like that when I lived with her-Jamie
omg! roflmao about party-line phones! we still had to deal with those on the old cord switchboards I worked on in the 70's, weren't many of them left...hated 'em as an operator.
personally I view ocd as merely striving for perfection...
jeez-o-petes you really are guilt trippin' me to do a vid aren't ya? is it the air in fiji? We don't have choppers here in the western sahara for background ambiance.
Yeah I was that kind of kid. I ended up getting us kicked off the party line,my parents were pissed. I also did things like listening in on conversations and then give them my ctitique of the conversation. I was trolling before there was an internet.
roflmao! I always say the old phone system was the original social network and people were behaving just as badly on it as they do on the internet! I messed around with the phone lines long before I was old enough to work at the phone company.
gawd and when I did, the crap I used ta give people who dared to dial "operator" and be a dumbass if I answered! it was trolling 1.0! lily tomlin had nothing on me! hahahahaha!
When I was a kid, my Dad worked for the phone co., so I knew the secrets. I'd unscrew the transmitter (microphone) from the handset before I picked it up. Then they couldn't tell I was listening at all. Bwahaha.
when I was a teenager working at the phone company on the switchboard, if kids were messing around with the phone I'd tell them to hang the phone up or I'd send the FBI...
Rofl! They're looking for Gilligan. Sounds like they're doing it in a 1928 Stinson. Is that the Fiji Air Force?
If your cabinet doors are giving people nightmares, I think you should get even by doing a video from the SLOPPIEST place in the house. And maybe even slop it up a little extra before you start the vid. Or maybe do the kitchen again, and get up in mid-vid and open ALL the doors, and leave 'em open. LOL
I love those wooden mini-squares of your house-wall and as that gigolo named our national space said - the relaxing calmer mood of this video was, well relaxing. excuse my redundancy and spelling errors.
Believe it or not, I found this vlog very relaxing - the sound was 'calmer' and one could sense the refreshing air - outdoor vlogging suits you very much. If you were so show the whole house, I suppose someone could use google satellite maps to look at Fiji and try to figure out which hut was yours hahah
There's a new Snark? I've been away that long? What was wrong with the old Snark. The old Snark was cool! Has the new Snark increased the coolness by at least 15%?
I remember the party lines and the phones that were so big and heavy, they were used as murder weapons. Literally...
I'm 47, so we were both like really really young when the party lines were around.
Remember the princess phone coming out? Yeah... Moving right into high tech about then. Yep.. Super high tech.
Hi! I'm a new subscriber! I remember the partyline phones...my grandparents had it when I was little, they lived on a farm in the country and that was in the late 70's. Wow, I feel old now. LOL! I'm enjoying your channel.
Your conversation is so riveting that I never notice what's going in the background! The older I get, the less I notice that kind of stuff. I can go to bed without having every single thing in it's place - and feel like all is OK - regardless. Come to think of it, I'm happy for it!!! LOVING the epic!
I don't remember shared lines, but have heard of them. And my mom says that that happened all the time too where she was at--people listening in. I guess that was a form of entertainment, since they didn't have the internet and people to watch to criticize about crooked cabinets.
LOL... My channel is pretty much all about showing my house or at least that was the general idea. Not that you can tell where it is from looking at the videos, Upper Slambovia looks like most of the mountain/hill country in the northern hemisphere.
Five Four Five SEVAN SEH-van? Six more of what? I was laughing hard, and then even hard when you pointed out I'd be laughing! Soooooo quiet in Fiji - I'd be beside myself with joy over that! OK OK OK we won't pick on Gma's cabinets...damn, what a guilt trip! But hey, you think you're safe from OCD sitting outside vlogging on that cute lil' porch? Don't make me get started on the shingles weathering unevenly and how THAT IS MAKING MY RIGHT EYE TWITCH! Ahahahahahaaha.
I totally remember that... we would yell...number number so we could call the people back. There were more then 3 families though. See I am going thru your vids. :)

Also, I have slight OCD, but I didn't even notice the cupboard doors. Lol.

Michelle never gets "whompin skeeter bites."
The last time one landed on her, it went something like this:
"Do you know who I am?"
Then she slowly furrowed her brow, and said
"FIVE FOUR FIVE ONE!"
Then the poor skeeter gave up the ghost, in fear. >:D
